I hate to be the bearer of bad news but PJ will NOT be playing Fenway Park on the 9th. I have a co-worker who has a little brother who has a friend that knows someone that works at the Wendy's in Crossgates Mall here in Albany. They will be playing the Times Union Center in Albany.
I doubt they do a Canadian show, then come back and do one in the States.

Call me a Boston guy being a Boston guy, but I know this scenario has been on the radar of Boston PJ fans for quite some time now. One of the most notable of Boston PJ fans is Theo Epstein who gets asked by a few different people every spring if PJ will finally make a Fenway appearance. On all occasions that I've read, he keeps to the "If we can make that happen, I'd love it." response, but I feel like it's a sincere thought on his part.
PJ plays Weds., 9/7 in Montreal, and not again until Sunday 9/11 in Toronto. Given that Boston is a PJ town, Fenway only lets 1 or 2 shows there a year, Theo's relationship with the band, and that they have the time to tack on one extra show and travel days, this doesn't seem like that much of a stretch to me.
Okay, so maybe I am a Boston guy being a Boston guy. Yes, I would absolutely go if it happened. Yes, part of me is hoping this one is true.
I doubt they do a Canadian show, then come back and do one in the States.
Exactly!
I'm telling y'all there is something going on
with the band at the Toronto International Film Festival. Why else would they have 4 days between shows ?
Very hard to see them packing everything up and go back to the US after Montreal only to return to T.O.

Woah, I know the friday 2-4pm cashier at that wendy's, and she said that your co-workers little brothers friend is totally trustworthy because of that one time he told her about bieber tix. It's sooo on for Smallbany on the 9th. I'm going out and getting a new keyboard now with only F5 keys.

Why? Not saying I'm buying it, but it would be easy enough to pull off with that gap in the schedule.
Logistics of moving their equipment is another thing to be considered. But, possible.
How it would be different than adding a show anywhere else? I can think of a bunch of other reasons this is unlikely, but schedule and geography don't seem to be two of them.

One thing that would be different would be 2 extra border crossings for the whole bunch (band, families, crew, their families...) - that's a lot of people and extra hassle, compared to just driving within whatever country they happen to be in.
I don't really get the obsession with having them at Fenway. Its a big outdoor sports arena that would be a challenge to have good sound in. Saw the Stones at a place like this in Pittsburgh when PJ played with them - most people end up miles away from the stage.

Well I for one am not going to take this for granted. Highly unlikely they are playing Fenway. Most bands have to schedule Fenway before the Red Sox regular season begins. No way PJ will just book Fenway during a road trip. There are a lot of obstacles to overcome to play there because it is a close knit neigborhood, colleges will be starting up around that time etc. Doubt this will happen. Sept 9 of 2012 though......that's a totally different story.

Actually, I just realized that Fenway is a stadium. Different stage-build rules.
Arena and Amphitheater shows get put up and taken down within 18 hours. The stage itself for shows like PJ originate at the venue, and the tour travels with their own sound and lights that get put up that day (plus band gear) load-in at 8am, and load-out at 11:30am-2am.
Stadium shows are completely different, typically a week long; About 3 days to build, 1 or 2 days for the show(s), and about 2 days to deconstruct. Show lights and sound would probably be redundant to those being used elsewhere but more plentiful for the larger stage and venue, so except for musical gear, the rest of their touring gear would not have to go to the venue if distance was an issue.
So, essentially a stadium as a unique date is possible. Not sure of where and when their other shows are, but, possible.
I just don't see PJ as being able to play Fenway and get anywhere near capacity. I believe its 35,000, and that's before the floor. Figure a floor would hold about 10,000... I just don't see them filling this place... with one exceptions... (bbf)

I'd be a little annoyed if they do a show in the US after I bought tickets for Canada because they advertised that AV would be their only US show in 2011.
