If you want to pm me go for it. I can give you details about the doc and then you can apologize for calling me a liar when you see that what I tell you is in the doc. It's just very frustrating that I've seen it and can't really share except for the people I saw it with. I suppose that's why I posted. I also simply wanted to tell all that it's amazing and worth any waiting. I don't really understand your philosophy unless you're simply trying to be an asshole. If that's the case, mission accomplished.

I didn't say you didn't see it. Read what I said again. Oh and I suggest you read the posting guidelines and see what they say about calling people names :)

    If the shoe fits...
So honestly what was your point then? If you read all my posts I go into some detail and I simply answer one other poster's question. THEN I cut it off out of respect. I just don't understand why you took issue w me is all. And then you cry when I retort? Anyway, I see you're a huge fan and you're always on here so I'm sure this is a simple misunderstanding. I can't fight w someone who possesses wonderful musical taste.

If the shoe fits? Yeah there is a certain shoe that fits for the likes of you, but I tend to respect rules here. So, I won't say anything else.

3 bits of proof that I saw it. Save this post so when you see the doc you'll remember this.
    1. First scene eddies in a bra.
    2. Stones basement
    3. "our guys pretty good too!"
The coolest thing I've ever seen.

Hey, I am not challenging you. I keep an open mind. I was wondering though if this documentary is mostly dealing with the early nineties, or that it will also portray the later period and also the "harder" issues within this band. I'm thinking of Ticketmaster and aftermath, Monkeywrench Radio, Roskilde, RA, Bush and the self-titled album etc. I became a fan later on (1997), and even though I enjoy their earlier work, I am wondering if this movie will also cover the later years, which to me are musically more interesting. Or is it going to be a documentary, as quoted in Almost Famous, where the band just looks cool???

In my opinion it includes everything. It's not just a rah rah piece. It' s got it all. Please let me know if you agree when you see it. Not just the early years. I do find those to be the most intriguing!

The early years are intriguing, no doubt; the grunge wave, the rise to stardom, dealing with fame, Seatle, the whole grunge scene and movement etc. etc. etc. But this has already been published, documented in so many other ways, that it should not be - IMO at least - the core of their twenty years career. To me the period after VS through Binaural, and maybe even RA, are musically more significant to me. Here is where they stepped away from the mainstream, became experimental (Vitalogy, No Code), tried to find a middle ground (Yield) and than changed producers to find a new sound (Binaural). Then Roskilde happened (together with a lot of other personal issues), the political landscape changed, which eventually resulted in RA. (An album that is in my opinion a bit out of place in their catalogue; like they were searching for something, but didn't quite find or catch it - which in itself represents the struggles and the era.) Of course with ST they went independent, which gave them more artistic freedom, but ironically resulted in a more commercial sound... (Even though I am a great fan of BS, which I personally think is the *real* follow up of Binaural, where I consider ST as an answer to RA - but that is another discussion all by itself - I know that there are many RA lovers out there - and just my opinion.)

All I am trying to say, in a round-a-bout way, is that the early nineties were significant, but didn't only define them as a band. So much happened after that and I truly hope that this also covered and captured in the documentary.

Perfectly written - exactly what I'm hoping for too. ALL their music and experiences is why this band is so precious to me. :D

I just thought i would share a few thoughts on the movie without giving away any specific moments or details. I saw it last week at a media screening.Being a massive PJ fan like all of you I know I'm extremely bias but here it goes! Its frickin amazing! Cameron Crowe did an incredible job chronicling the evolution from Green River all the way to present day PJ. Some of the footage was purely amazing. It really allows you to see exactly how the band and specifically each individual member had come into their own and grown as musicians and individuals. Being a high school kid from 91-94, the movie brought back so many memories and first time moments as a fan and as a kid growing up. At the end of the 2 hours you are definitely satisfied but yearning for more. I could've watched all 1,200 hours. Hopefully the DVD will have hours of unseen footage on it. A great thing about this movie is that it is so well made (you definitely feel Crowe's passion and love for PJ and Seattle) that you don't even need to be a PJ fan to enjoy it. I was talking to a friend in the media after the screening who really isn't a'PJ fan ( only knows the hits) and he thought it was great! I can't wait to see it again!

    See you all in Wisconsin!

Without getting too specific, but are also the more sensitive topics included in this movie or is the focus on the music and albums? With sensitive topics I mean: the band internal turmoil and politics, Ticketmaster, the early drug use of Mike, the different drummers, Roskilde etc. etc. etc. I guess what I want to know is: when you finish watching the movie do you have the feeling that you get a better sense of the band as an entity?

I think it captures everything. Everything you wrote about (mike, drummers, Denmark, tmaster) is covered. You gain a better sense of where they were at different times and how they still exist and thrive. I can't wait to see it in a theatre w other pj fans! The energy will be amazing. Crowe did an amazing job w Andy wood too. So wonderful. Can't believe it's NOT a movie and it's real.
