So what reason would I have to bu this through the 10C? It's MUCH cheaper at Amazon, will probably arrive on time from Amazon, possible free shipping with Amazon. I'd love to give the 10C the money but...why?

    Anyone know? :?

The book is cheaper on Amazon.
Can't find the soundtrack on Amazon. :?
It will be out on DVD in October. According to the PJ20 website, the soundtrack is only available from the Ten Club.

Pearl Jam’s 20th year as a band may be their biggest one yet. Not only have Eddie Vedder and co. reissued two classic albums and announced their own three-day music festival, but they’re also releasing a film… and a soundtrack… and a book. We now have all the details.

Let’s start with the Cameron Crowe-directed documentary. Pearl Jam Twenty will receive its initial premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 10th. A one-night only premiere will follow in select theaters across the country on September 20th, with a full week run of the film beginning September 23rd in key markets. Then, on October 21st at 9pm ET/PT, the film will air nationwide on PBS. Following that, the DVD of the film will be released worldwide on October 25th, 2011.

Right below, we have the trailer for the documentary – featuring one Mr. David Lynch. As an issued press release notes, the end result is “culled from more than 1,200 hours of rarely and never-before-seen footage, over 24 hours of recent interviews with the band, as well as live footage of their spellbinding concert performances.”

Accompanying the film’s release will be the Pearl Jam Twenty soundtrack. Comprised of a selected track listing by Crowe, the album is billed as a “true companion piece to the film.” It will hit stores on September 20th via Columbia Records/Sony Music Entertainment.

There’s also Pearl Jam Twenty the book, which will be released on September 13th. Compiled and written by veteran music writer Jonathan Cohen with Mark Wilkerson, the book includes a foreword by Crowe (and material from all his own band interviews) as well as original interviews with Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, and Dave Grohl.

So, who’s excited for fall now?

Ordered the book from Amazon. Cheaper and I'll get it faster since I have Prime for two day shipping.

As with others, I'm done ordering anything from 10club that's not exclusive as I've gotten burned with paying more than places like Amazon and having it not come for a week or two after launch.

Soundtrack CD it looks like we'll have to order from them, but I'll wait for a track listing etc. before ordering.

As much as I'd like to see the tracklisting of the soundtrack for pure curiosity (already preordered), I don't want the movie to be spoiled by knowing which songs from which shows or situations are included. Im not sure why the tracklisting
isn't being made public yet (since it is
available for presale), but I can definitely understand if it's being withheld to keep many surprises for the movie.

But is clear that you deserve details if you are gonna pay 20$ cause if the selection is not decided by PJ maybe is not what you are expecting. Remember Cameron Crowe did it... and who knows which are the selected tracks...

    Is a consumer right, c'mon!
A lot of people will buy it regardless of what tracks are on it. It's not limited, so no need to preorder until you find out what's on it. After that, buy it if it's what you like. I haven't preordered yet, until I find out if there's any special bundles or editions or whatever.
  • Who cares? All those who want the book and soundtrack will end up with it in their hands one way or the other. Hell, I'll buy 'em off the street from some guy named Paco for all I care.

Both the book and CD will be everywhere on release day. Honestly there is no need to preorder either unless you really want to. The only thing I will buy here is a vinyl if it's released and the book if it some sort of special edition book that won't be in stores.

The PJ20 page has a list of places where the film will be showing in the US and Canada. My wife and I live in South Carolina and it isn't showing here, but we are going to PJ20 and can't wait!

this. Can't really support a pre-order and then have to wait 2 months for it to get here.

  • Really can't wait for the film!
This will be epic, it has to be.
I'll try to watch it in a cinema nearby if it is offered.
Two hours of rare stuff, mostly unseen. This is what every fan has been waiting for.
Plus, the DVD release will (hopefully) have some additional extras on it.

As for the soundtrack, I like it that they try to keep the tracklist a surprise.
In times of the internet, there aren't many surprises anymore...

I'll just wait for the book to be in a local book store here. If they can't order it, I can always still order it online. It's good to support your local middle class.

If you want to pm me go for it. I can give you details about the doc and then you can apologize for calling me a liar when you see that what I tell you is in the doc. It's just very frustrating that I've seen it and can't really share except for the people I saw it with. I suppose that's why I posted. I also simply wanted to tell all that it's amazing and worth any waiting. I don't really understand your philosophy unless you're simply trying to be an asshole. If that's the case, mission accomplished.
