Wow, megatonnes of Vancouver tickets available.  I went to see what as left, a lot of the upper bowl is sold (probably due to lower prices), but the lower bowl and floor, lots of tickets for both nights sitting there.

Maybe they went from not enough to too many shows?
Exactly, those of us in the original seven cities were done no favors from this band.

they created false scarcity…by first announcing it was a limited tour. They never did anything as misleading as this their entire career.

tickets for lower seats at msg are still mostly at over $500 for resale, and the closest show, Philly are at $380. So with a hotel room, that’s no bargain.

and also they did the usual “ we willll give nyc the same number of shows the other big cities get, “ which is what almost all bands do, but never factor in ny is much much larger than every other city, the metro area has an enormous population, and there are a number of other big cities very close by.

It is very odd.  It's like, did they know they were going to expand the tour, or was it something thought about ad hoc after the popularity of the original dates.   Given it wasn't that long until the extra shows got announced, and how long it takes to string together a tour, reserve the venues and what not.  I dunno.

Then they, we have super extra demand we're adding 2nd dates in all these cities, when in places like Vancouver that doesn't seem to be the case.  Decades ago 2nd dates would get announced after the first one got sold out.

So many odd choices. Probably by the promoters, which is probably live nation.

Maybe it’s a new way for Rush to roll out a comeback tour but we’ve seen this happen before with other bands! I feel bad for fans that jumped at the original cities I’ll wait till the week of those NY shows to try for a ticket otherwise I’ll pass

Dirty move by them, they could've announced 1 show in each city to gauge interest then add dates per city accordingly.
