Not knocking anyone who pays a lot for tickets. If you can afford it go for it this is probably the last chance you'll get to see them. Hell if the remaining members of Zeppelin got back together I would pay an insane amount for a ticket 🤘

My mom told me today that she tried for Toronto and side stage lower bowl was $1400 a ticket. Is this true!?

I will check closer to the show date, but the prices I saw in the presale were too much for what I want to spend.

It depends.  On the Amex presale, I saw side stage for a bit over $400/ticket.

She's probably not differentiating between face value tickets, premium tix, platinum tix, and vip tix.

I think anything over $600 was some kind of vip or platinum ticket.

I should of spent thousands of dollars on scalper tickets for the O2 show.  Rumour were they were going to tour so we didn't do it.  In hindsight that was really my only ever chance I would of had to see them.

I was so happy to see the tour announcement and then twice as bummed when I saw the ticket prices. I love Rush but I’m not paying $400 to sit at the back of the arena. And that wasn’t even listed as platinum pricing. That appears to be the standard price which is mindblowing to me, if accurate.

As much as I love Zeppelin, I’m almost relieved they never toured. I’d be in debt until I’m 100 if they toured. Lol.

I guess the thing I find most annoying is RUSH doesn't need the money nor does Zeppelin, pricing out fans has never felt right.  I get it, capitalism, etc.. but it seems like that is exploited far too often.  If PJ fan club tix start becoming these prices, for me anyways, I know I wouldn't be going for two reasons, cost and principle, live music, going to a concert shouldn't be what it's become

I generally morphing into shelling out $$ to see the bands I haven't had the chance to see yet, or one last run with a favourite.

I feel like I go to less concerts now, but because they cost more, I spend the same amount of money.

Even with the expensive ticket prices, the tickets are still the cheapest part of the trip.  The airfare and hotel for a few days in TO is going to cost more than the tickets :)

The problem is if you price too low the tickets get gobbled up by resellers and sold for that price anyway. Except now giant heaps of cash are going to leeches instead of the people who are actually putting on the show/tour. Technology has made it such that it's very easy for tickets to find their real level. It is what it is.

Any city hosting big arena shows undoubtedly has plenty of venues where you can see a high quality show for under 50 bucks. I do it all the time. It's greed on the fan's behalf to expect to be able to name their price. I was priced out of this tour - isn't the first time, won't be the last. I'll go to something else. It's not Rush's problem.

I played the shit out of those albums.
Rush was an absolute FANTASTIC band.
Sad that I only saw them twice.
I may travel back to Chicago next summer to see a show or 2.

I sort of agree but if people refused to pay what the resellers are asking, they'd be forced to lower their asking price.  Same can be said if people stopped going to shows due to costs, promotors/artists would be forced to adjust pricing but if people are willing to pay, there's no need for them to adjust anything.  Never really seemed to be much of an issue 10, 20, 30 years ago, yeah a scalper might charge you $50 more but that's just my experience, others obviously vary but the prices are simply out of control now resellers or not.

Who this really sucks for is younger fans who may have missed seeing them before Neil passed. I have a teenage nephew who has gotten into classic rock and he can't afford to go see some of the remaining groups he likes.

Exactly - I saw a bumper sticker yesterday that said, "I may be old but I got to see all the cool bands" that definitely carries some weight
