    perhaps you do.
I have pleaded with you in a couple pm's basically on my knees open heart all for naught
so I do know a bit about your lack of respect for others too.

So your words here now are a 'kettle black' thing...

You pick and choose whom to respect yet argue we should respect all people when you do not give the same consideration. You choose who gets your support.

20 years from now, when you are 55 and have kids approaching 30 you will perhaps understand
how I feel. At this point I don't expect understanding from you. It takes very insightful people to understand and to bridge the generation gap.

I am a Mom and you are children to me.
    Pretty simple concept.

And again you have no solution to the problems facing our world...only identify a problem and put down others and how they may choose to solve it. I don't find that very evolved. I find that to be just simple finger pointing.

i am a mom and you are children to me could you be any more condescending?

hate is such a strong word pandora. i dont hate anybody.. but there are people i have no time for. and i dont feel that patronising them is constructive, so they tend to figure out quick how i feel.

Back to the subject at hand....I'm just curious does anyone know what is the percentage of people whether poor, middle rich, or just plain rich plan on and implement trying to have a child? Is that percentage high or low and if it is high are all those people irresponsible?

just the quick def search here and then I'm off for a lovely dinner and red carpet viewing of the rich and famous
haughty attitude or temper; a contemptuous manner

sounding a bit high horse...ish to me..... in my opinion though

In the United States, 51% of pregnancies are intended & 49% of pregnancies are unintended. I know that's a percentage of pregnancies & not of people, but hopefully that kind of answers your first question.

As for your second question, that obviously depends on who you ask. I don't think it's my place to judge. But for those who think it's their place to judge whether a person/couple is irresponsible for having children under less than ideal conditions, I'll have to agree with the posters here who have already noted that practically no one is able to bring children into this world under ideal conditions.

I don't think anyone should be means tested or tested for being of below high intellegence, jeez if we had waited until we were loaded and had a whole bunch of cash in the bank, we would never have had kids!!! But you have to have rocks in your head if you think having a baby when your completely skint and struggling to survive financially, is a good idea!!!! :? :?

We were poor when we had our first. We had just enough money to pay the rent and power, we had no phone, cable or any other luxuries and we had a ball. I had to take the calculator to the supermarket with me to make the $40 we had stretch as far as possible. At the end of the day it isn't about how much money you have its about being ready emotionally. 2nd time around we were slightly better off but still had only enough for the basics. I went back to work when my son was 19months and since then we are comfortable. The problem a lot of people have is not being able to budget and prioritize, and being used to a certain way of life. Having a child means that you have to be willing to compromise.

Yeah, I mean we only have money for the basics really and a few little treats here and there. My hubby has to work damn hard for what we have. I guess what I'm saying is if you have no secure roof over your head and completely down and out it's not a good idea to actually go out of your way to get pregnant. It's still up to them, we can't force them otherwise but I think it's a bit silly.

Tinkerbell i know what you mean and i've been there as a single father taking care of my daughter with some help from my mother. I had to sacrifice so many things i loved but all the things i did give up I in return gave to my daughter who had to survive abuse from her mother.
