No, I don't mean to offend any more than you do. I'm just loving that I didn't have to become an old lady for things to make sense.
You have many years to go to learn much....
And yes you always mean to offend me that is obvious
this because you are not grown up enough to let go of a grudge.
Time will heal that quality hopefully.
Enjoy your path
What's obvious to me, Pandi, is that you always intend to offend & bait me (and others) first & then sit back & act like the poor, sweet, wise, elderly victim when anyone responds in kind. I said the EXACT same thing to you that you said to me, so if you have a problem with what I said you're a fucking hypocrite. (Oh, now don't tell me I've offended you with my casual use of the word fuck.) Frankly, I just can't believe women your age are still acting like they're in high school. If you don't want me to comment about your age, then don't condescend to me about mine. It's very simple. I've put up with your snide remarks for QUITE some time without ever stooping to your level until now. When you can learn to grow up & earn (and treat others with) the respect you think you deserve, I'll respond accordingly. YOU are the one who brought the conversation down to this level. Now go & run to the mods like you always do, since apparently you can dish it out but you can't take it. And in the meantime, why don't you just leave me the fuck alone already?

I'm not sure about that. But we can choose to ignore each other which I sort of thought I was doing til you answered my opinion posts.
Your friend can not say he is sorry... a poor quality
he can write 2 long pm's about his life story attempting to justify hurting my heart ....
when a simple I am sorry was all that was needed.
I trusted him thought him a friend. Even if I took something the wrong way ...
which I really didn't because his point was to say I was without principles...
a good person would feel the hurt he caused another and just say I am sorry
without a big 'but' and 2 pages about himself.
You've made it very clear in this thread and others that your intent is NOT to fix and correct the problems we face but to merely chastise and judge. Wagging the finger from your high horse doesn't mean much especially when many of your comments and opinions are clearly based on generalizations not facts. You claim in the below comment that I don't care about the future or some nonsense, yet all of your comments are derogatory and a snide way to preach intolerance, hate and blaming those in need all the while not seriously taking into account the reasons our society has so many people in need. It's a very simplistic and uncaring way to dismiss serious issues and core problems compared to naively just scapegoating people as lazy villains who need your better judgment, ethics and moral boosting.
Heijam, your disdain for the "poor" is mind boggling. The pseudo-American dream for all to base their lives around, which consists of a family of 4, a house, 2.5 kids and 2 cars is environmentally, socially and culturally harmful to ourselves and the world as a whole. But I guess you have it all figured out with sex restrictions based on W-2's? haha
Your disdain for poor childrens future is mind boggling. You seem to have no issues throwing innocent children to the wolves so as long as your precious poor have no consequences for their actions. Bravo buddy, bravo...

Am I talking to an adult here???
How is having no consequences for your actions a good thing for yourself or society?
Nothing is wrong with trying to help people who don't have the capacity to help themselves.
But really, if you are not mentally or physically handicapped and you are on welfare for years, maybe you don't want to help yourself and deserved to be kicked out on the street so you wise up.
We should really have a strong incentive to get off welfare, or a disincentive to go on it.
I don't know why this concept is so hard to understand.
Once again, you generalize as if everyone on such programs and in need is in the below scenario as you claim, but in reality, it's far from true. Also, I'm far from the most sympathetic or compassionate person when it comes to some areas and issue, and many know that from some of my opinions in this forum, but your vast lack of compassion and sympathy purely based on skewed and overstated generalizations is quite sad. If you actually want to fix the problems of the system or help the poor or make a better future, you wouldn't be saying all of these things, instead you wag the finger and take a false and vague moral ground as if you know better and people should follow in line. If you are serious about fixing things, offer solutions and practical ways to do so, not throwing people on the street or income requirements for sex. It's a pathetic way to demonize people rather than address the problem and find a solution which benefits all.

heidi,
when you speak of those on welfare, it is with a tone that says to me you are of the opinion that you will never find yourself in need of it. And if you did, then youd certainly never be on it for any extended aamount of time.
Now im sure if you did find yourself in need of welfare, youd do you darndest to minimise its effect on your life and im sure youd be racing around trying to do your best to get off it, but you never know what will befall you. And not being able to predict the future im sure youd be glad the service was there when you needed it. And THAT is why you shouldnt begrudge your tax dollars going to the welfare scheme... Cause you never know.

Funny... that is EXACTLY what i was thinking about YOU....
oh well... keep calling well-educated women in their thirties children... that shows your are so evolved... much like your opinions about people (as in this thread) and your attitudes toward others show how much you respect people.
It's horrible that some people are even trying to take a basic human activity like sex away from poor people. One of the few things that can't be taken away, is now being questioned and "taken away" from them because they can't afford to make children.
What I don't understand is how is it acceptable to FORCE me to pay into the welfare system because its good for society. But its not acceptable to put regulations on people who are not putting into any system to benefit society yet are taking from the same programs.

Who's paying for them to live???
Who's paying for these children???
What are they giving back to society???
Why do they get pay increases when they have another child???
Why are they buying X-box and big screen TV's with their childrens "back to school" check???
Its called basic consequences for their actions and they don't receive any, thats why the welfare rate rises every year...
Keep throwing money at it, the only people you are hurting are poor people.
You seem to be assuming that every PERSON who is on welfare is a bad egg and not a person. You are generalizing about their actions, about their motives, about their situations.
You are de-humanizing them.
I don't like that. I don't think you're right to do that. Sometimes people need help. Maybe there ARE people abusing the system, but there are also probably people who are good people that just need help.
For me, as a caring person, I'd rather help a few people who don't "deserve" it rather than leave no options for a few other people who are genuinely in need of assistance.
A lot of people that have gone on to make incredible contributions to society came from mothers/families that were once on welfare... which for the record... doesn't even exist as many of you imply that it does.... TANF (Temporary Aid to Needy Families) circa... idk... 1996?? implemented a lot of requirements for the receipt of cash in hand assistance....
And do you know a lot of poor people receiving $$? It is obvious you do not... because you wouldn't make those ridiculous generalizations about x-boxes and flat screen tv's... that is just NOT the way it is for most....
But it is obvious you know better.... you drive through a poor area sometimes don't you? I seem to recall you indicating that once.... my, my, my.... GOD HELP YOU, HEIDIJAM.

Yes, I do know alot of people on welfare, as my wife works as a teacher in the inner city who has 85% free and reduced lunch (reduced lunch prices are 3 cents) 100% free breakfast /dinner.
over 30% get power packs which are backpacks that are six meals for the weekends. There are all bought and paid for by who??? you guess it, Tax Payers... Not the parents who should be feeding their own fucking kids. http://www.whec.com/news/stories/S1082607.shtml?cat=572
Heres your link to my generalization  of people buying x-box's with their childrens fucking school money.
THe only way people learn is by being responsible/consequences.
But your right lets just keep rewarding them for being poor and having children, as its greatly benefiting society.

It's a matter of caring for other human beings.
Why do you think its helping poor people to just give them money and reward them for continually having children???
You sound like a parent who wants to be their childrens "friend" instead of actually being a parent.
If the gov. wants to continually run welfare as a sucessful opeartion to help and aid people they need to act as "parents" and give them some regulations.
All those kids that your wife works with... you know their families?
So strange... That is just unusual.... It must be your winning personality that has allowed the school to let you meet and get to know your wife's student's families... Funny... that side of you doesnt really come across on this board...
It appears to me that you're a hard, cold ignorant man... GOOD LUCK.

wow. that must suck for you.
its a bummer to be forced to pay into a system that takes that money and uses it to build up the military industrial complex... do you have a problem with that i wonder. i certainly do. but i also know those taxes go to pay for health and education and the infrastructure of my country, not to mention foreign aid... so i suck it up and leave it to my government... my democratically elected government to divide up the money accordingly. if you dont like some of your taxes going to people in need then by all means feel free to opt out of the system and refuse to pay taxes til you get a guarantee that your government isnt gonna waste it on the needy.

That's your proof? Also, do you think every city is exactly just like yours or everyone is exactly the same elsewhere? Kind of a overstated misnomer, no? Also, should we all just make assumptions and wide sweeping generalizations based on an extremely small sampling of personal interactions or examples? And just for a point of reference, this is exactly how racists and stereotypes are spread - not exactly a beacon of morality, intellect or something redeeming to pass along to others in society. But I guess it's just easier to categorize and simplify - poor people got poor on their own laziness and mooch on the rest of society, and they all cheat the system and steal your money. Why not also add other stereotypes.. pretty soon you can wear your sheets and claim your cleaning up the nation for the good too.
By the way, thought I'd share this with you because don't seem to care about or see out data or facts. If I recall, the area you call home is Cincinnati which is the basis of your "experience" and argument. It's listed here as the 8th poorest major city (over 250,000 people) in the nation. So basically, you're basing your opinion on an extremely elevated data pool, and certainly no where near the average or norm for our nation. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_the_poorest_places_in_the_United_States#Large_cities_with_a_high_percent_of_low_income_residents

Since when did a flat screen t.v cost just $200?
You'd need to have at least 5 kids in order to get enough money to buy a flat screen t.v, no?

I don't understand why you keep saying that no one on welfare has contributed or will contribute to the system. That's just blatantly false.
I also don't understand why you don't get that you are part of society and therefore something that is good for society is also good for you. What's wrong with doing things that are good for society? Where's your sense of social responsibility? Regardless, you have to pay into this system because you might someday have to use it.
I also don't understand, by your logic, why I should have to pay into the education system that educates your kids & pays you wife, since I don't have kids.
And I don't understand why you think it's okay for the working poor to subsidize your way of life without you having to pay what you owe for the work they provide.
Furthermore, I don't understand why you want to punish & starve innocent children for the "sins" of their parents.

I respect everyone - until they prove to me repeatedly that they don't deserve my respect. You lost my respect long before the smoking thread.
Whether or not it is commonplace for you to call everyone children, you do so specifically to offend & condescend to me and I have asked you nicely not to. I'll ask you again now to please stop calling me a child, being condescending, and telling me I can't have an opinion because I don't have children. In fact, I'm asking that you stop doing that to other people as well. Please. Thank you.
Answer my threads if you want to, but please back up what you say with reason instead of personal attacks. "I'm older than you are" is not sound reasoning for why someone is wrong & you are right, and the rest of us don't stoop to that level. I know I expect better from someone who claims to be so wise & mature.
I also don't understand, by your logic, why I should have to pay into the education system that educates your kids & pays you wife, since I don't have kids.

I'm not sure about that. But we can choose to ignore each other which I sort of thought I was doing til you answered my opinion posts.
he can write 2 long pm's about his life story attempting to justify hurting my heart ....
when a simple I am sorry was all that was needed.
I trusted him thought him a friend. Even if I took something the wrong way ...
which I really didn't because his point was to say I was without principles...
a good person would feel the hurt he caused another and just say I am sorry
without a big 'but' and 2 pages about himself.
Our government is the potent, the omnipresent teacher. For good or for ill, it teaches the whole people by its example. Crime is contagious. If the government becomes a law-breaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy. - Louis Brandeis
I don't know why this concept is so hard to understand.

when you speak of those on welfare, it is with a tone that says to me you are of the opinion that you will never find yourself in need of it.

I agree with everything said here
I love that GIF so much. The intensity on his face makes it so good.
Funny... that is EXACTLY what i was thinking about YOU....
oh well... keep calling well-educated women in their thirties children... that shows your are so evolved... much like your opinions about people (as in this thread) and your attitudes toward others show how much you respect people.
It's horrible that some people are even trying to take a basic human activity like sex away from poor people. One of the few things that can't be taken away, is now being questioned and "taken away" from them because they can't afford to make children.
It's a matter of caring for other human beings.
ABSOLUTELY!
over 30% get power packs which are backpacks that are six meals for the weekends. There are all bought and paid for by who??? you guess it, Tax Payers... Not the parents who should be feeding their own fucking kids.

Heres your link to my generalization  of people buying x-box's with their childrens fucking school money.
THe only way people learn is by being responsible/consequences.
But your right lets just keep rewarding them for being poor and having children, as its greatly benefiting society.
Get a fucking brain.

:?
And never feed or clothe them.
