Incredibly fast paced start to proceedings with Instellar Overdrive/Corduroy, Evolution and Hail Hail. Ed then greets the crowd and asks them to take a few steps back. Got Some continues the fast pace. Small Town gives everyone chance to catch their breath. A couple of midtempo songs follow - Amongst The Waves and Unthought Known - and after ATW, Ed tells the crowd to stop crowd-surfing as there are women & kids up front and the band can't stand to see people getting hurt. Like at Nijmegen, Even Flow and Just Breathe are paired together. Daughter with Another Brick In The Wall follows and the crowd participation during the tag is magnificent. Like the start of the show, the end of the main set is furious - Why Go, Jeremy and Rearviewmirror.
The encore begins with The Fixer and after that it's fairly routine but very good - Better Man, Black, Alive and Rockin' In The Free World.
A setlist that is very festival friendly and nothing that really stands out but it is a fun show and boot I quite enjoyed.

Even shorter than Nijmegen this one, just the 17 songs. Only 10 songs in the main set which starts with Unthought Known and is followed by Got Some. State Of Love And Trust, Corduroy and Even Flow provide a high tempo before Just Breathe again follows Even Flow. Of The Earth gets another outing, Porch closes the main set (feels weird writing that when it's only 10 songs!!)
Red Mosquito starts the first encore, complete with Ben Harper. It's good but not as good as the versions played on the US and Australia '09 shows. After that it's very much the 'big guns' to fill the rest of the encore - Jeremy, Black, Alive with Baba O'Riley and Yellow Ledbetter to finish.

Making it's second appearance on the tour and strangely opening the show is Public Image; I must admit I was disappointed when I saw the setlist and this was opening but it works fairly well and whilst the mix isn't fantastic, Jeff's bass is fairly prominent Evolution and Corduroy follow. During The Fixer, the guitars sound really off at one point. Enjoyed Severed Hand but Amongst The Waves is abit laboured and run of the mill. Even Flow felt a little flat in parts to me (I don't think the mixing on this boot is all that good). After Ed talks to the crowd Arms Aloft is played for Joe Strummer - this is one of the better performances of the song on the tour so far. Following Unthought Known, a superb Porch - the jam is freaking excellent!!! - closes a short main set.
Of The Earth opens the first encore (and also makes it's last appearance of 2010). The encore is fairly disjointed - Got Some, Given To Fly, Just Breath and Rearviewmirror - but contains good performances of GTF and RVM, the latter especially.
Comatose and Why Go start the second encore off at a high tempo and there's a slight extended intro with some guitar effects on Why Go. Alive obviously maintains that high tempo but disappointingly the last song of the show is Kick Out The Jams.
Strange opener and closer here and at times I thought the mix of the boot wasn't great.

9/29/1996 - Randall's Island. What a show! I finished listening to night 1 just before starting this one and was shocked to hear John Popper blowing the solo for Evenflow. That was pretty cool to hear actually.

Public image certainly works very nicely as an opener.
It was absolutely a short setlist. They were gone real quick and noone really knew what happened. Were they angry or ... There was a weird vibe. Also Eddie was rather hammered as you can hear when he talks before Elderly woman. Of the earth was fantastic and I still enjoy listening to it. So happy I got to see it live. Wouldn't mind hearing it again. They were celebrating the 4th of july backstage with Alice in Chain and the them crooked vultures. During Kick out the jams Dave Grohl joined the band.
Thanks for the review I'll be giving Given to fly an extra listen.
It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me.
Listening to Charlotte from this past tour for the first time. About 10 songs in and i'm really enjoying it. I was at the show with not great seats and hearing it now makes that night even better for me. Crowd wasn't great but the band sure as hell was!
