    Best February 14th EVER :D

    Just saw that too. Very interesting album concept with the whole "Newspaper Album" thing. Sounds great at least from an artwork perspective :)

    Newspaper Album - PRESALE
    Radiohead's new record, The King Of Limbs, is presented here as the world's first* Newspaper Album, comprising:

    * Two clear 10" vinyl records in a purpose-built record sleeve. :D
    * A compact disc.
    * Many large sheets of artwork, 625 tiny pieces of artwork and a full-colour piece of oxo-degradeable plastic to hold it all together.
    * The Newspaper Album comes with a digital download that is compatible with all good digital media players.
    * The Newspaper Album will be shipped on Monday 9th May 2011 you can, however, enjoy the download on Saturday 19th February 2011.
    * Shipping is included in the prices shown.
    * One lucky owner of the digital version of The King Of Limbs, purchased from this website, will receive a signed 2 track 12" vinyl.

    *perhaps

    top of the range old son thanks :D
  • Nice prices and I think it's excellent how they have announced the album and effectively it will be released within a week. It helps against piracy and is just a good move really.

  • A Very reasonable price for a deluxe set, I think certain bands should pay attention to that ;)

    And this is by far the best way to stamp out early leaks of the album, that way the band get to release it on their own terms. Can't wait!
  • What is a 'newspaper album' anyway? Is it just the vinyls wrapped in newspaper like how fish and chips used to be?

    Yeah, tried pre-ordering but it didn't go through. I mean, they only announced it about six or so hours ago. If you wait until later the site will probably be working better.

    i can't begin to tell you how excited that would make me if they were playing bonnaroo. imagine having my morning jacket, arcade fire and radiohead all at the same festival. it would be unbelievable.

    Anyone know if the vinyl is limited?
    I wanna hear the album first before I go ahead and spend $50 on it.

    According to XL Records: "We're very pleased to announce that the new Radiohead album, 'The King of Limbs' will be available on CD and 12" Vinyl on March 28th."

    To the best of my knowledge, it will just be the 'newspaper' edition that's limited.

    Just pre-ordered the $50 version!

    What's different about this record is that the band didn't road-test any of the material so it'll all be fresh. Thom Yorke played a bunch of new solo songs but nobody has any idea what the full band versions of any of them will sound like. Makes it all the more exciting for me. The album title and artwork seems rather spooky, leading me to believe this record will have a darker tone than In Rainbows.
