Off Camera Episode 7 with Dave Grohl http://vimeo.com/69423723 is one of the best interviews I've ever seen with Dave. Interesting stuff.

This just appeared the other day - http://www.foofighters.tv/. They've got something in the works.

Agreed, that interview is outstanding. Every time I think it's impossible to love Dave any more, something else comes along! And thanks for the TV thing, cool!

They have a difficult album to follow up - Wasting Light was immense. A conceptual themed record sounds interesting.

I was just recently gifted all the Foo's stuff by a super fan. I made the mistake of starting with Wasting Light first. There is not a song I would skip on that album which is rare these days! It is so amazing that I am having trouble going to their older albums. I have honestly listened to that album every day since I got it. It is in my top twenty of all time...maybe even top ten!

The new Foo Fighters album has been written, and we should see new material from the band – and an entirely new formula – next year, Dave Grohl has told XFM.

"Well, I'll tell you, we have been in our studio writing," Grohl told XFM's Sunta Templeton, "and in the past few weeks we've written an album and we are going to make this album in a way that no-one's ever done before, and we're pretty excited about it."

He continued: "It's a little ways off – it's not ready to happen right now but I think next year is going to be a really big year for the Foo Fighters without question. It's going to be great, I can't wait."

With the analog tape approach having worked spectacular wonders for the band with 2011's Wasting Light album, and Dave Grohl now owning the legendary Neve board from the now-shuttered Sound City Studios in LA, I'd say they're off to a great start without a new gimmick applied.

In June, drummer Taylor Hawkins told Billboard that Grohl was “working overtime” on a specific concept for the record. And that’s been confirmed by guitarist Chris Shiflett, who said Grohl is onto something exciting.

“I can’t go into too much detail," he teased, "but I’m excited about it. Dave’s got a bunch of new songs and the way that we’re gonna make the new record – like, the approach for it – is gonna be pretty fucking fun. And different. I feel like Dave’s always looking for ways – when we go to make records and we tour – to keep things exciting and keep things inspired and fun. I think he’s got some good ideas for this next one.”

  • well look at that. FF have every single one of their albums in their online store on VINYL for a reasonable price.

    FF greatest hits: $23.99
    PJ greatest hits: $400.00+

come on PJ. take note. I'm not a vinyl head. But so many people here are. and they are wasting thousands on your music when you could give it to them for a reasonable price. Why in the hell would you not?

You can't compare Pearl Jam vs. Foo Fighters as far as fan appeal or what their management wants.

why not? they are both huge bands, FF are way bigger, but I wouldn't guess they'd have a huge vinyl fan base like PJ does.

FF have way more mainstream appeal, for good or bad. Pearl Jam couldn't sell out Wembley as fast as FF did, if at all.
