Found this awesome article from Examiner talking about the secret show where they played the entire album front to back.

    http://www.examiner.com/music-news-in-s ... -new-songs

Video: Foo Fighters sell out surprise gig in Santa Barbara, debut new songs

Head Foo Dave Grohl has been teasing fans with 10-second snippets of music from the band’s forthcoming album, whetting the appetite of all.

Since officially completing the seventh album on Jan. 3rd and posting rehearsal photos via Twitter, sighing, “Ahhh.......so nice to play the entire record, front to back, in sequence, live as a band” on the 26th followed by “hope we get a chance to do that soon.....” on the 28th, Grohl sprang a surprise gig on everyone that same day, announcing the Foo Fighters and special guest The Bronx would appear at the Santa Barbara club Velvet Jones, limiting everyone to one ticket, cash-only purchases. “Bam.”

    Sucker sold out pretty quick.

The following is the evening’s set list. A full review of the show can be found at Antiquiet.

    Foo Fighters Setlist:
    Bridge Burning
    Rope
    Dear Rosemary
    White Limo
    Arlandria
    These Days
    Back & Forth
    Matter of Time
    Miss the Misery
    I Shoulda Know
    Walk
    All My Life
    Times Like These
    Generator
    My Hero
    Learn to Fly
    Watershed
    Up in Arms
    Big Me
    Enough Space
    Monkeywrench
    Hey JP
    Everlong
    Pretender
    I’ll Stick Around

"These Days" does sound reminiscent of There Is Nothing Left to Lose, in the best way possible. Sounds like a really optimistic song (although I didn't make out all the lyrics).

It seems like this record is going to be much better than Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace. I liked that record, but some of it felt like the Foos on autopilot. Definitely excited for this one, though.

    Thank you!

I'm also looking forward to seeing them in the summer. I'm hoping they come to CT; if not, I'll go to either New York or Boston to see them.

They are playing European festivals and outdoor venues in June/July, I am seeing them at Milton Keynes Bowl in July.

They play Wembley Stadium on the 26th February, I couldn't make that gig...but you never know maybe another small club gig in London just before could happen!! (I can dream)

Hell yea, I am READY for this album!

I actually really liked (most of) Echoes. Think Long Road to Ruin, Statues and especially Stranger Things Have Happened is some of the best work the Foo's have done, but this album sounds so good. I like that they're returning to some more rocking, loud stuff while remaining upbeat. And I got tix to the Copenhagen show with Gaslight Anthem and Biffy Clyro, so it's gonna be good :-)

Stranger Things is one of their greatest songs. And not ruined by the radio either.

I'm thinking, with the way they've described the album, it might sound something like Low, really aggressive.

  • I'm already counting down the months/weeks/days till this album comes out!!! I'm SO EXCITED ABOUT IT!!
Foo Fighters are my number one favorite band ever & i havent seen them live yet. Hopefully they visit New Zealand soon!! From the teasers I've heard, sounds like this album has a bit of a 'The colour and the shape' & 'There is nothing left to lose' vibe. Cant wait!!!

AND Its two weeks RIGHT NOW till I get my first tattoo which is Foo Fighters themed. :D
Pearl Jam Pearl Jam Pearl Jam!

I'm looking to buy a single ticket to Ed's Sydney Opera House show, PM me if you've got a spare! I don't care where the seat is! :D
