Stefano took it well, he actually looked a bit relieved and seemed to enjoy performing his final song. Maybe he has been pulled back from the brink too many times and knowing that at least he made it this far, has a good fan base and will be in the tour is quite an accomplishment. Maybe this was a good time for him to be out. Seems like the longer they stay in it the more chances they have of screwing up.
I read an article in the paper Monday that discussed Stefano. It basically stated that Stefano had no plans on winning Idol and he held back his true talent. He wanted to save everything for his first album. Do you remember Stefano at the piano during LA week? I do...vaguely. We have not seen him there since. In Vegas he also did an original song, it was good enough that I remember he did it...He seemed so comfortable in the bottom three week after week that I really think he was glad to be done. He can now get on with his career. I hope Idol did help with this. He was one I really liked, and I, like Jennifer, always thought he could do better. Perhaps he will now that he doesn't have to tow the Idol line.

    Looking forward to tonight!

I couldn't stand him. It seemed he cared about his looks and not his singing. I'm still waiting for the torrets(ms) guy to freak out on stage. I wasn't a fan of Pia but I did think she was too good for Idol. Casey is an all around artist and I never use that word to describe anyone, but his song choices are not always great. His are better than the others by far but if you do a Nirvana song it's either going to be just ok or really bad. He only got my vote last week because he kissed Jennifer.

We had terrible storms in our viewing area last evening during Idol. Nearly a dozen people lost their lives here in our state as tornados ripped through their towns.

Needless to say we missed some of the performances due to media coverage and alert warnings.

The sun is up now in their world of devastation  and for those lives untouched we are grateful.

Loving thoughts and prayers to the survivors of this horrible tragedy.

I am very sorry to hear that. We are getting battered this morning, though nothing like the storms yesterday.

I don't think you missed too much, they all did relatively well. I think James was best last night, he sang "Will You Love Me Tomorrow" and it sounded fantastic. Maybe its because of all my heavy metal days, I really like James, I think he has an incredible voice and stage presence.

and another prediction I had came true: when they said it was Carole King night, I said I bet Scotty does James Taylor and sure enough he did - "You Got A Friend". He did ok with it, but that is a tough song, especially when all of us have the way James Taylor sings it in our heads - no-one can sing like him.

My girlfriend really enjoyed Casey's performance, I thought it was just ok. I asked her if she would go see Idols on tour and she said if they play here and tickets are cheap, yes.

Seems like Steven Tyler is just hoping this will end soon, he has run out of things to say and looks like he is not enjoying it too much anymore.

I feel like it is dragging out too much, at this point all the competitors are very good, any of them could win it and we are just waiting for someone to mess up.

My prediction is Jacob will be going tonight.

I hope you are right and that is my bet too.

We did miss James last night...I will have to youtube. I think he just may win this year.

We saw most of the performances but it was tough and I was on the phone with my kids.

I can not believe how beautiful today is ... picture perfect and cool.

All the sorrow in the South.
So many lost and injured in Alabama and it is a beautiful day...

I've just seen some of the pictures of all the storm damage over there. The reports say over 250 people dead. Kinda puts it all prespective really. Hope you are all ok over there!

With Casey out, it looks like another case of weird voting last night. But he looked like another contestant relieved to be voted out at this point. His performance last night was fun, it reminded me of European soccer - when a player has a really good game, maybe he scores 2 or three goals, sometimes they substitute him out at the very end of the game so that he can recieve an oavation from the crowd as he leaves the field. That is what it seemed like for Casey last night - leaving while he was ahead and enjoying his moment. He knows that he did really well in the competition and can now look forward to what is next for him without the agony of remaining in the competition.

Side note - the Ford commercial and duets were just painful fillers.

 Hi Tink hope all is well with you :D

So much rubble I think the death toll is rising.... many missing.

We and our own are ok,
but the sorrow and loss is very close to home so the gratefulness we feel almost feels guilty.
I know you understand after the quake that shook your world.

We just never know when our time is up....
must take all the happiness we can each day and give it back to the world in love! :D

    Enjoy your day!

Oh man when is Jacob leaving?!? even the producer guy thought he'd be gone by now...
what is up with that! :?

I will miss Casey...I liked his vibe he was an addition to the hour for sure

Scotty is seeming to need to belt it out more ... a little too quiet he is.

I will be rooting even more so for James I guess. He's a talented and endearing young man.

I'm disappointed ...Oh well it happens in Idol...
just gotta go with the flow most especially when you don't vote!

Pia performed on Dancing with the Stars last week. I think she has something going on with Mark...he was spotted in the idol crowd the week Pia performed the group act with Paul and the girls that are off the show. Guess I rooting for James and Lauren this week...now that Casey and Stefano are gone I am able to narrow down the field.
  • pandorapandora Posts: 21,855
Scotty has a career already in country... Lauren too.
I think country is easier to break into and they are talented with a following.

I too am hoping James wins. I think the rock genre is tougher to make a go in.
He was awesome with his old song .... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djkUd3MxooA

Having Tourette's has made him a different person... maybe questioning if his dream could ever come true and appreciating where he is just that much more.
He is full of emotion, missing his young son and wife and wanting to give them his dream.

And like he said he gives his all each time on stage. He deserves to win.

Haley may surprise us yet ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSAF2JsOEcI 8-)

We missed the first few performances last night, the DVR wasn't recording it....I think maybe my son and his accomplice, SpongeBob, had something to do with it.....

My girlfriend thought Haley did really well on her second song - House Of the Rising Sun. When I heard that she was going to do an Animals song, I went "yikes" that won't work. But she did ok. I thought her first song was much better, problem was, no-one knew the song so they gave her a bad review - I enjoyed it.

I have to youtube James' first song from last night, I really like him. He certainly got the sympathy/emotional vote last night.

hmmmmm.....sitting here trying to remember the others....hehehe...oh yes Jacob. Jacob. well, I guess he did about the same as he normally does.

oh! duh...my brain is mush...Scotty and Lauren. Scotty did great, as usual. He could make a career just covering Johnny Cash and Elvis and other country stuff.

No clue or prediction on who will go tonight. Ok, maybe Jacob if I have to pick one.

    Agreed...Jacob needs to go

ok,I just looked up what James sang for his first song last night. "Closer To The Edge". I can't see the performance on youtube while at work, but if it is the song I think it is, I just have to ask why??? that song is horrible.

James (if you read this) - Please stop listening to people telling you to branch out, you are an amazing rock/metal singer. Stick with that, it works. It works phenomenally well!!! There are many, many ballads from metal that you could slay. Google "80's hair metal" and you will come up with many better songs than the one from last night.

I didn't want to say it yet again! but yes please Jacob time to go??
each time they say he brings something new but whatever song he does sounds just the same for me

James' first song I was not nuts about but he did it well

I have been consistently wrong with my predictions  but I thought it might be another shocker
and Lauren goes home tonight ... she looked like she was ready for the prom last evening on the second song.
They thought it a strong performance .... I thought it wasn't.

trying to think of songs that I think James would do well:

Led Zeppelin, maybe Rock And Roll, Whole Lotta Love
    Heart - Barracuda
Iron Maiden - Run To The Hills
The Who - Love Reign O'er Me
Guns N Roses- Sweet Child O Mine
Whitesnake - Heat of the Night

I did not like the song Lauren sung. There was no emotion behind it. It was a little girl signing a song that was too mature for her. Jacob has to go! James is milking it, oh poor me, pitty me. He needs his own reality show. Haley sucks. The only one with a promising carrier is the penis mic holding guy.
    I'll be back
