i don't see anything wrong with it.
Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
    Butthead: Huh huh.

I'd much rather have someone plaster their car with stickers of pride for who they are then in stickers of hate and intolerance. It is a lot easier to explain to a kid that someone is gay and proud, as opposed to trying to explain a sticker like "God hates Fags" or some sick shit like that.

I have a dear friend who is G-G-G-Gay. He grew up in small town, intolerant America and was beat up, stuffed in trash cans, physically and verbally assaulted from the time he was a small child. He survived it all and now flaunts the fuck out of how gay he is. And I think it is spectacular. I'm all for G-G-G-Gay. 8-)

I was sitting behind a car today driving home from work and this guy had the rainbow flag stickered all over his boot, a flag inside, and rainbow flag pillow things inside under the back windscreen.

...maybe the guy just likes rainbows. :|

I guess you would explain it the same way that someone would tell a child that's grown up in a house with 2 moms or 2 dads that there are other kids who grow up with a mom and dad. I don't really think it's about looking for recognition as much as fighting for acceptance...which sadly seems like it's still a long way off for some.

I think it's great when people can be truly proud of who they are. I don't have any bumper stickers on my car...but I do have an equal sign and a rainbow flag on my door. One of my students has a fabulous rainbow tie that I wouldn't mind getting for myself!

  • I am gay, and I must admit it is a bit much to over decorate your car in any one fashion or another. I was never flambouyant about my coming out, mostly because of my family, I was very reseved. To a massive degree I still am. There are no pride stickers on my van, or my truck. If people want to know what I prefer they can ask me, other than that, being gay is NOT the entirety of who I am, and there fore need not be flaunted.. this is just my opinion, as for others, they're gonna do what they do regardless of what we all think. And as one human to another, we need to recognize that everyone is different and needs to be allowed this, otherwise we're all the same and that's boring as alll fucking hell. Just my opinion.

Just a personal opinion, but if there were a "straight" flag and someone plastered it all over their car I would probably assume that they were gay, just as I basically assume all gay bashers are. Honestly I don't see where there can be any problem with it. Besides theres already enough hatred out there in the world we don't need any more.

I think this may be the "straight" flag ... that or the "sexist idiot" flag, but who's to judge?

This guys car sounds like some of the Cowboys (football) fans I've seen driving here. Flags, window stickers, bumper stickers, dashboard crap, stick on window toys, drivers wearing Cowboys shirts and hats. Really really Cowboys obsessed.

Would that car bother you if you were driving near it? Honestly ask yourself that question.

Homosexuals are spoiling your pornos to such a degree that you can't wait for them to "go away"?! :? Ever heard of searching for what you want to watch? I never stumble across gay men in my porn. As for lesbians, it's very easy to avoid them too. Maybe a little less drinky drinky next time and a bit more concentration, hey? ;)

Jo, I think you should be much more worried about teaching your kids to spell correctly than what you're going to tell them about homosexuals ---- Considerate, morally, principal, pornos (no apostrophe)

  • if i spent my entire young life pretending to be something i wasn't to keep everyone else happy/comfortable then hell yes i would go full on flamboyant gay when i came out... i could see that being liberating

that being said, i know plenty of gay guys that could stand to tone down the FABULOUS a little... it gets to a point where its like drunk girls that pretend to be drunker than they really are... but thats usually the newly out ones making up for lost time :)

i was asked if i was a "breeder" when i was at a gay bar with my friend last weekend

or don't really intend to breed? :?

I was the 'different' kid, and wanted so badlly to fit in and hated anything that made me 'stick out'. I give kudos to people who can celebrate their differences.

What would happen if someone made a gay/african/asian/italian/jewish/german/greek/etc bashing decal?

Ahhhh good on 'em!!!! I live in a part of Adelaide where most of the shops are owned and run by gay men and women and they are extremely proud to be able to come out and show who they are and I love it. I love that my community embraces people no matter their sexual preference, they are some of the best damn people I know. My best mate at high school was gay and he was picked on relentlessly, so much so that later in life, it stayed with him and he got so depressed, he hung himself 2 years ago.
I think these people have had to hide for so long that they want to show how proud they are! GO SEMAPHORE BEACH!!!!!!!!!!! GAY PRIDE!!!!!
