It was mostly by 10C join date, but could be different for a number of reasons (different email addresses etc). When they changed the board over, I lost my login (used different email addresses) and became the generic name. The generic name had my correct date, but when they sorted it all out so I got my name back and kept my existing 10C details etc, the date changed to what I can only guess is the date we had to re-sign up to the board (as seen right).

i used the same email address for the old board as i did when i rejoined the 10c for a 2nd time in 08. nothing really changed for me cept my 10c number. i don't know why i didn't join the 10c when i joined the old board back in 05. my number probably wouldn't be so bad as it is now, oh well.

First, let me just say that I don't mean to continue debating this over and over, but I honestly have been going back and forth on how I feel about this. I was initially upset, then I was fine with it, now I don't know what the hell I think but...
Consider this:
It's not that 10c is offering a new, more expensive option that bothers me, it's that they are taking away benefits for the cheaper option that your $20 always got you. Yes, you can pay the 20 bucks as always but they are taking away the hard copy Deep and single.
I was talking about this with a fellow board member here and she made a good point...
It's like a pizza place saying, "we will give you a slice of pizza, bag of chips and a pop for $5.00," then saying, "now, because we're so awesome we'll give you the exact same thing for $10.00, plus we'll throw in a packet of salt and a couple napkins, but you still have the $5.00 option for the pizza, hold the cheese."
Is it shitty of 10c to do what they are doing? Yes, it is, especially in these harsh times.
Is paying $40 outrageous for what you're getting? No, not really, especially if the benefits and the merch, etc are worth it to you and important to you.
Having said all this, I truly am conflicted on the issue. I can see people's arguments on both sides. I simply wanted to offer the above example as a way of looking at the situation.
That is what I've been saying the whole time, the thing I take issue with is the $20 option. And the people saying the whole time that you still have the $20 option to get what you always have pissed me off because it is not the same, but you couldn't tell some that.

But the pizza store above wouldn't keep their prices set as once price for so long either, I imagine there would be pleny if smaller price increases as their costs went up. I imagine 10c costs have increased and if they'd done a CPI increase each year, we'd probably arrive at the same point as we are today.

I can fully understand they may have needed to raise prices, yeah shit goes up, and the u.s economy seems to be feeling it more then most and I don't expect an apology from them for it. I don't think that the $50 membership is bad value, but it's not for me, I don't want or need the stuff you get in it, besides the vinyl. Like I said for what the digital membership is it is far overpriced and not worth it at all to me, others may be happy to pay $20 for what ticket privileges plus some emails, but not me.
But yeah just the way some attacked those who voiced their opinion is not nessercary, but that just seems to be the norm around here.

It is open to debate if people feel the service or quality of pruduct is not up to scratch, but i think this is a different issue and I've never had reason to complain - but I know some feel they do and have no comment on the validity of these complaints.
It is a shame that $20 will not get a vinyl. Maybe a compramise can be reached where the single is offered and sold to digital members at cost plus shipping. They could manage this by taking presale orders then they would know exacltly how many they need to produce and package with no left overs.

It was almost as though they left a flaming bag of dog shit on every one of our doorsteps, rang the doorbell, then ran away. When we stamped out the flames and realised what was on our shoes, we looked around and realised that there was nobody there.
The current problem I have with this two tier membership is the fact that to keep the exact same benefits I currently have, I have to pay double the price I was paying previously. I DON'T want another PJ shirt, and I DON'T want a 'free' bootleg. On the other hand I DO want a physical copy of Deep, and I DO want a physical copy of the 'Xmas' Single.
If they announced a $5 increase on memberships then I would've said "fair enough". Inflation is something we have to live with, and I think it's something every single one of us accepts, but an increase of 100%??

These are essentially a couple of quick, easy e-mails for 10c to send out once they get the files ready. Not a big deal. (Personally, I'd rather have the real thing, the MP3 and PDF seem like watered down versions and not as heartfelt and special like it should be.)

Okay, let's think about this one...merch discount events and members only merch....how do you get merch? You pay for it. How do you get concert tickets? You pay for 'em. So really, if you think about it....by having/listing these things as membership benefits, it's really laughable because you are literally paying money for the chance to pay more money.
The Analog membership is literally the exact same benefits as the Digital, with the addition of the hard copy of Deep, hard copy of single, bootleg download and t-shirt.
Personally, I don't care about the bootleg (I already have too many) or the shirt (I already have too many)...all I want is the hard copy of Deep and the actual single but I just can't have that without paying double now, can I?
It is disappointing and a shame really. Say what you will, defend the band and the club all you want, cite reasons like rising costs, etc. It doesn't matter. I'm sure PJ/10c have enough funds that they could continue to send out Deep and the single. Hell, it's really not much work to send that stuff out 1-2 times a year. Gimme a break.
Having said all this, I still love the band and the music and I will continue to be a fan. I will also get the next Deep and single as I renewed before this announcement but I am not looking forward to having to make a decision in a year. I would like to give the band and the club the benefit of the doubt and I will say that I can only hope that they somehow remedy this situation. There is still time.

I got the same thing day's ago so I sent them an email. Got a reply back which they fixed everything.
Only thing I'm waiting for now is a reply back on any new's or word about changing shipper carriers when shipping Pearl Jam goodies to Canada. The 6 to 8 week wait time needs to be fixed for 2011.

And I hope 10-C hears these voices, and maybe offers another tier for the big number of members who are unsatisfied by this new system since they have to pay double nor for what they got before.

Our $90 per ticket prices can't go towards any of that? I wonder if they realize that without the ardent supporters here, they wouldn't sell out 90% of their shows. Outside of us, the band is hardly relevant anymore. I am very lucky to be in Philly where they are still in heavy rotation on the radio and shows sell well but how many markets can say that? MSG is a guaranteed sellout but there wasn't enough support for a second Boston show last time around. Boston used to be automatic for multiple shows. None of the midwest shows were sold out were they? I understand and sympathize with those in the South and all over the world really but there unfortunately isn't enough support because they insist on doing arenas for some reason.
Basically what I am getting at is, they aren't starving and it's clear they put next to none of their own profits into this club. They charge us to buy tickets directly from them when it could be free. Obviously they aren't the only band doing that but that doesn't give them a free pass. I was fine with the $20 for a vinyl and tickets and magazine but they suddenly need more money for those things when they weren't consistently providing them in the first place. How about the band put some money into it instead of hitting us up for more money? We are their bread and butter.

Pearl Jam doesn't sell out most arenas any more.
They sell out NY, Chicago, Philly, Boston and some other major cities. But even there, they sometimes don't sell out two shows in a row anymore.
They left huge spots in the US alone by not touring there for years, and lost a big part of their fanbase there because they were disappointed.
Plus the ticket prices went up in regions not everybody wants to / or can pay.
So the demand isn't as high as it was 10 years ago anymore.
I really hope they'll do a proper US tour in the near future, where they tour places all over the country. I hope it for the fans there.
Instead of 15,000 arenas, they can play in 8,000 arenas, this would fit the demand in most smaler markets.

The only reason that Boston didn't get a second show in May was because the Celtics were in the playoffs and the concert was at the TD Garden where the Celtics play. The show was completely sold out and it was in fact the best show of the tour...crowd wise and set list wise. (I was also at both MSG shows, Newark & Hartford). They could sell out 3 nights in a row in Boston.

Weren't all sellouts - Tuesday night especially. And again, when all you're going to play is 4 shows in a highly populated area such as the Northeast, you will sell those shows out. Pearl Jam aren't the only ones that can do this.

These are essentially a couple of quick, easy e-mails for 10c to send out once they get the files ready. Not a big deal. (Personally, I'd rather have the real thing, the MP3 and PDF seem like watered down versions and not as heartfelt and special like it should be.)

Cool, but not everyone cares. I've never entered a contest and don't really feel that I should have to pay for the chance to do so.

Okay, let's think about this one...merch discount events and members only merch....how do you get merch? You pay for it. How do you get concert tickets? You pay for 'em. So really, if you think about it....by having/listing these things as membership benefits, it's really laughable because you are literally paying money for the chance to pay more money.
The Analog membership is literally the exact same benefits as the Digital, with the addition of the hard copy of Deep, hard copy of single, bootleg download and t-shirt.
Personally, I don't care about the bootleg (I already have too many) or the shirt (I already have too many)...all I want is the hard copy of Deep and the actual single but I just can't have that without paying double now, can I?
It is disappointing and a shame really. Say what you will, defend the band and the club all you want, cite reasons like rising costs, etc. It doesn't matter. I'm sure PJ/10c have enough funds that they could continue to send out Deep and the single. Hell, it's really not much work to send that stuff out 1-2 times a year. Gimme a break.
Having said all this, I still love the band and the music and I will continue to be a fan. I will also get the next Deep and single as I renewed before this announcement but I am not looking forward to having to make a decision in a year. I would like to give the band and the club the benefit of the doubt and I will say that I can only hope that they somehow remedy this situation. There is still time.
i see in the end there will be a union of 10c members and do demostrations about the bad boss,the 10c.
its not our life-health insurance that double price,noon fre us from our work..isnt the prices went double in super market!!!..i doubt if someone do so much complains if one of the above change tomorrow morning.

I got the same thing day's ago so I sent them an email. Got a reply back which they fixed everything.
Only thing I'm waiting for now is a reply back on any new's or word about changing shipper carriers when shipping Pearl Jam goodies to Canada. The 6 to 8 week wait time needs to be fixed for 2011.
And I hope 10-C hears these voices, and maybe offers another tier for the big number of members who are unsatisfied by this new system since they have to pay double nor for what they got before.
When reading the stuff fans write here, you can see that a large group is happy with these changes.
But there also is a large group that thinks these changes are not right.
For those people, 10-C could either be ignorant (like some people here) and say that they can leave if they don't like it.
Or:
10-C could try to work on this situation and offer something to these fans.
These fans want the same things they always got, without the Shirt and Bootleg download. And they have no problem to pay more money for this, since they know that prices go up. But they don't want to pay double the price.
I really think 10-C should go for a compromise.
Because in the end, there is one thing we all have in common here:
We love the band and their music!

Our $90 per ticket prices can't go towards any of that? I wonder if they realize that without the ardent supporters here, they wouldn't sell out 90% of their shows. Outside of us, the band is hardly relevant anymore. I am very lucky to be in Philly where they are still in heavy rotation on the radio and shows sell well but how many markets can say that? MSG is a guaranteed sellout but there wasn't enough support for a second Boston show last time around. Boston used to be automatic for multiple shows. None of the midwest shows were sold out were they? I understand and sympathize with those in the South and all over the world really but there unfortunately isn't enough support because they insist on doing arenas for some reason.
Basically what I am getting at is, they aren't starving and it's clear they put next to none of their own profits into this club. They charge us to buy tickets directly from them when it could be free. Obviously they aren't the only band doing that but that doesn't give them a free pass. I was fine with the $20 for a vinyl and tickets and magazine but they suddenly need more money for those things when they weren't consistently providing them in the first place. How about the band put some money into it instead of hitting us up for more money? We are their bread and butter.
Pearl Jam doesn't sell out most arenas any more.
They sell out NY, Chicago, Philly, Boston and some other major cities. But even there, they sometimes don't sell out two shows in a row anymore.
They left huge spots in the US alone by not touring there for years, and lost a big part of their fanbase there because they were disappointed.
Plus the ticket prices went up in regions not everybody wants to / or can pay.
So the demand isn't as high as it was 10 years ago anymore.
I really hope they'll do a proper US tour in the near future, where they tour places all over the country. I hope it for the fans there.
Instead of 15,000 arenas, they can play in 8,000 arenas, this would fit the demand in most smaler markets.
The only reason that Boston didn't get a second show in May was because the Celtics were in the playoffs and the concert was at the TD Garden where the Celtics play. The show was completely sold out and it was in fact the best show of the tour...crowd wise and set list wise. (I was also at both MSG shows, Newark & Hartford). They could sell out 3 nights in a row in Boston.

You can't deny that there is not as much demand for Pearl Jam shows as there used to be.
You can argue about the reason for this, but you can't argue about this point.
Without huge parts of the fanbase that are willing to travel long distances for their gigs, it would be even worse.
How many other bands can sell out 4 shows at the Spectrum when that cities team is in the World Series? They didn't play multiple nights in Boston because of the NBA playoffs. At least get your facts straight before you spew your nonsense. They could easily sell out 4 straight in Boston.
They are so unpopular yet their music is played at every venue in America at sporting events, on Monday night football etc. Get a friggin' clue.
Is it coincidence that immediately after opening for Pearl Jam, Kings of Leon and My morning Jacket become big time bands?

So you are saying that it wasn't the great success of the singles Use Somebody and Sex On Fire that made KoL a "big time band" but opening for Pearl Jam..?
And in what way is MMJ a "big time band"?
Which 3 legs would that be? I'm going to have to assume you mean US shows. Would it be the 2010 leg with a total of 13 shows for the entire country, one being a festival show and yet another being a late addition show? All in the Northeast, btw.
Would the 3 legs include the 2009 September to October US jaunt consisting of 14 shows, 4 in Pennsylvania and the rest (minus Austin City Limits) on the West coast?
Maybe you mean the 13 shows they did in 2008, again favoring the Northeast with a small bone to the Southeast.
Anyway, the point I'm trying to make is, yes, when that's all you're willing to put on the table, demand with seem high because you're shutting out a large amount of people.
Someone already answered this for you in another thread with a nice chunky list of American bands that are definitely more revelant in sales figures.
Weren't all sellouts - Tuesday night especially. And again, when all you're going to play is 4 shows in a highly populated area such as the Northeast, you will sell those shows out. Pearl Jam aren't the only ones that can do this.

Still, they are one of the most respected rock bands around. They influenced other bands. And they certainly deserve to be well respected!
You can't be serious about KoL?
KoL were as successful now if they didn't open for PJ. They had huge singles that made them the #1 Rockband worldwide over night.
KoL were surely influenced by PJ during their development, that's right.
