This is how I rationalize anything I really want (and in this case really need) but probably should not spend the money for. $40 a year? comes to 11 cents a day. If 11 cents a day buys me something that makes me happy, so very happy, then it's a no brainer for me. No need to analyze all the ins and outs. I love this band, and love this community. The day I will be really upset is the day I get the e-mail that they are no longer offering memberships. Until then - call me a posimist. Fuck the pessimists.
it'd be kind of cool if they reassigned numbers and got rid of the dead ones between 1 and mine... i'd like to know where i actually am in line
it be the coolest thing ever
I joined 10c in 2004, my hubby in 1999. I just found myself on the list (page 789)... that would make me #23,664 out of 80,634 currently "paid members." This looks WAY better than my actual 324xxx, haha! And my hubby at 191xxx would be #7,892 (page 264)... sweet!
Just goes to show how many early members no longer have their numbers, & how the vast majority of current members joined 10c only in the last few years (with the exception of lapsers, of course). I'll hafta check back next yr after everyone jumps ship with the digital vs. analog, ya know, to see how much we've moved up!

I'm just curious, where do you draw the line? How much could PJ charge for a new album or t-shirt before even you said, "Hey now, that's ridiculous." ?

I'm a 164xxx and my wife is 179xxx
So just think, really you're in like the top 5000 out of over 80,000!
Edit: But then again, it says to the right that you joined in 2008. I guess 10c messed something up along the way, didn't they? Damn... ruined all my fun

That would be sweet but I'd like to have that confirmed. hahahahahaha especially when I am side stage at every show practially.

So I typed out a big long post about 10 club member numbers vs forum member numbers but checking it seems to have not posted.
Well the gist of it was would the forum user number be an accurate indication of actual ten club members? When you join ten club I don't think you are automatically signed up for the forum, I think you would have to then go to the forum and sign up?? So Im sure there would be many ten club members who have never been on the forum, I know of a few in my circle of friends who never have, and I'm sure there are thousands that maybe haven't either. Not everyone likes or uses forums. Plus there are the members in it for tickets alone who probably don't care to come here and spout bullshit endlessly. So I don't think we can go off forum members as a true figure of ten club members.
There was a rumor pit back in the day that gave an estimate number of members per country or maybe continent. I remember the figure for Australia was 1000, I think it would be more then that now.
Edit: found it
Issue #57 - May 26, 2004
Q: How many members does Ten Club have in each European country?
A: U.K. 825, Italy 400, Germany 290, Netherlands 220, Spain 120, Portugal 120, Sweden 100, Norway 100, France 100, Ireland 80, Belgium 70, Denmark 65, Switzerland 59, Poland 40, Greece 30, Finland 28, Czech Republic 8.
Issue #56 - November 11, 2003
Q: How many fan club members are there in South America? UK?
A: UK = 900. South America = a couple of hundred.
Issue 58 - September 23 2004
Australia 1000, NZ 68, Brazil 71, Argentina 12, chile 18
I can't find figures for us/Canada, I'll keep checking.
if PJ was more closely tied to the club you know there'd be a lot more people pussyfooting around their complaints...
I am not sure how much closer the two entities could be. They all work out of the same warehouse converted into the PJ headquarters. The 10C is not some outsourced, corporate fan club that runs fan clubs for many bands. The Ten Club is an all in-house operation, wholly-owned by Pearl Jam. Has been since it's inception. I think those who have posted that you do not think the band knew or knows about the fan club analog and digital memberships, are wrong.
i doubt there's many 10C kiwis. we kiwis don't pay money for things that we can't hold! psshaw! only the particularly keen amongst us show outward nerdy appreciation. most of the country folds their arms and nods their head quietly.
I remember at least 4 kiwis from the Auckland line. doompony +1 , KiwiChris +1... although 1000 Aussie fans seems a little excessive aswell.
Lets see these re-jigged member numbers to give us current members peace of mind... and bring back seniority seating in Australia/NZ

I joined 10c on the exact date listed to the right, under my photo. And my hubby joined 12/21/99, which it says under his photo on here, too... but neither of us joined the boards until early 2009, so IDK why the site has us all listed differently. Oh well

It was mostly by 10C join date, but could be different for a number of reasons (different email addresses etc). When they changed the board over, I lost my login (used different email addresses) and became the generic name. The generic name had my correct date, but when they sorted it all out so I got my name back and kept my existing 10C details etc, the date changed to what I can only guess is the date we had to re-sign up to the board (as seen right).

i used the same email address for the old board as i did when i rejoined the 10c for a 2nd time in 08. nothing really changed for me cept my 10c number. i don't know why i didn't join the 10c when i joined the old board back in 05. my number probably wouldn't be so bad as it is now, oh well.
