[Does it matter if a guy has 37 goals on a team if the team he left
leads the league in goals scored ?

They have more balanced scoring now

JVR has been injured for just about half the season

no but the original comment from johnny was about one player. the comment wasn't brought up about last year's flyers team vs. this years flyers team.

congrats. you had nova's vote and temple's ad endorsed nova's move to football.

looks like the big east gave nova some concessions too. if football expands to 15 or 16 teams in a few years, it appears nova may get it in. conference is giving them 1M to upgrade football facilities and will waive the entrance fee if/when time comes...then another 2M after that to ramp up. all good signs.

also for basketball, exclusivity for conference games at the wells/wach/fu/corestates center :P

    this is gonna be fun

It's a big love fest!

Obviously Nova's 1-AA program has fallen behind Temple's; it'd be cool if they had a conference rivalry.

So does that mean Temple can't play Big East home games at the FU Center? If so, that's the most awesome thing I ever heard! I hate going to games there - the Apollo is top-notch! (except for the lack of a video board - maybe we can afford one now  ) Do you have a link with this info? I am so excited to get all these teams on our campus!

it was mike kern's article from last night.

playing games on a big stage like an nba arena, while admittedly not as exciting as on campus, is an advantage with recruiting. i wonder if that will still be the case if/when nova moves up in football though.

I can see why Nova wants to play games there - the Pavillion is a dump. If it makes you guys happy that's great.

I think our new practice facility and every home game in a premiere college hoops arena should make up for 4 games a year in an NBA arena. :P

I love going to North Broad. Section 106! :D

ha...there's a reason you guys played duke there. ;)

with your 2nd point, yeah, i think that's the reasoning behind giving nova exclusivity there too.

Because Mike K refuses to play real road games outside of his conference. We played Kansas (a bigger program than Duke) on North Broad. (and their fans overran the arena and their team ran us out of it)

be interesting to see if Nova plays Temple at DuPont or takes those games to the Wells Fargo now. they never have before but i think that was more of an fu to the city teams. that rivalry just set itself up to get a lot nastier in the near future.

just saying...big time, national tv games, recruits are drawn to the bigger stage. so i think that's why the big east gave that to nova since you guys definitely have an advantage with the appolo and the new practice facility too.

this rivalary is going to be awesome starting in a couple years. can't wait!

Now I'm hearing Nova just has preference in booking the FU, not necessarily exclusive rights to it for BE games. So some Owls BE games may still be down there. I'd rather they just play them all at LC (maybe I can give up calling it The Apollo). Maybe the Nova-Temple game can be FU Center neutral court style, gate split evenly.

My old man had some good stories about seeing the Wooden teams playing at The Pit, well before Nike ran the school.

    From Inquirer's Keith Pompey:
Keith Pompey: Nova has an exclusive contract with the Wells Fargo Center. If I was Temple, I wouldn't care about that. The Owls just need to pack the Liacouras Center and get a true home-court advantage.

    That sounds good. :D:D8-)

It's funny - Nova fans want to have the exclusive WF access, and Temple fans want to play on campus. So I guess that's what's happening. I can get some cash on stubhub for a few games in the future.;)
