Owls pulled out the trap game vs. GW. It was pretty damn ugly for 35 minutes, down 9 with 5 to go. Finally one of GW's good players fouled out and Moore & Wyatt took over. They actually took the lead with 2 minutes to go and padded it from there. Place was rocking, even if half full.
Never should've been in that situation to start with, but it was a gutsy comeback; this team knows what to do at the end of games.

Hawks have 3 very winnable games coming up (at rhody tomorrow, at gw saturday, richhmond home next wed.) before the Owls come into Hagan that saturday night. If Hawks can win next 3 can put themselves into a postion to make some noise with last two being temple and at st. bonnies. hoping to sneak into top 4 for a bye in the A10 tourny. opening A10 loss to Charlotte is haunting the Hawks.
Four mid-major teams with the moxie to pull a VCU or a Butler
1. Wichita State: The Shockers may be the top mid-major team in the nation. Wichita State features four senior starters -- including 7-footer Garrett Stutz -- and each of its top seven players can score. The Shockers are every bit as good -- if not better -- than last season's VCU team.
2. Temple: Fran Dunphy's squad -- which gets a combined 35.5 points from Ramone Moore and Khalif Wyatt -- is getting hot at just the right time. The Owls have won eight straight and defeated Duke earlier this season.
3. Murray State: The Racers opened the season with 23 straight victories before Tennessee State beat them last week. Point guard Isaiah Canaan is an All-America candidate and will make Murray State a tough out.
4. Long Beach State: Other than Kentucky, the 49ers are deep and athletic enough to beat any team in the country when things are clicking. And they know it, too.

yeah johnson, i like. he seems more like a traditional point guard than what jay normally recruits. he had an awful shooting night but dished out 7 or 8 assists on saturday. he's got potential.

juggler i only saw the last 2 or 3 minutes plus the overtime but i gotta say at one point i thought to myself that it was the worst 5 i've ever seen nova throw out there. when johnson went out in the OT only pinkston at one point was a legitimate threat. i wonder what happened to hilliard? he seemed like he played well in pre-conference but does he even see the court anymore?
hawks get richmond wednesday night and temple saturday. both at hagan. sitting at 18-10. beat richmond wednesday and the temple game becomes a game to get right on the discussion for an at-large bid.
well to be fair wayns and bell didn't play and they still should have won the game.
i liked hilliard early...he's not getting any consistent minutes. i dunno.
holding onto the bright spots for the future. jayvaughn is gonna be a beast for the next few years. good class coming in next year... wish cheek would just transfer though
yes i knew those 2 were out. didn't think they had a prayer and was shocked to hear they led by 20 at one point. pinkston not playing last year really hurt them for this year. they'd be much better this year if he was a soph. i think johnson is going to be a really good point. they need a quality 2 and 3 down the line though.
yeah johnson, i like. he seems more like a traditional point guard than what jay normally recruits. he had an awful shooting night but dished out 7 or 8 assists on saturday. he's got potential.
