UM....I can't even comprehend this....if I tried to ask him a question I'd throw up...like Stan on South Park when he talks to Wendy.
    Hi jeff
    This weekend we rock Portland
  • Greetings brother!

first let me start by saying thank you for the mini east coast tour this summer! you guys brought joy to a very trying summer(family health issues) and it really helped me stay positive.

And now my question is : Ed seems to "lord" over the studio when PJ makes an album (which is fine with me :)) how smoothly did things go being in total control of the creative process without his significant input?(seeing it has been almost 2 decades since that has happened)

i wish you the best of luck on your solo venture and look forward to hearing it when it's released.

    thank you

    Erik-

  • - As you know, in this decade, one of the most focused themes of the music world is piracy. What do you think about it? Are you concerned that there are people downloading your work for free or you just don't care about such things and just want your music to be listened by everyone, even those who don't pay for it?

    or

    - Record finished. Are you fulfilled by your work, i mean, does the "final product" match with your primary expectations?

    or

    - I'm from Portugal, so, I'd like to know if our landscapes had, somehow, inspired you. If not, did some country specially inspired you, you know, the mix of grey and green tones of some European cities, or the crashing waves of some Australian beach, for example..?

    or

    - One album and 5 senses. If you had to describe the mood of your album using the 5 senses, how would it be? Which smells, sounds, shapes and tastes come to your mind?

Well, I'm Portuguese, I'm sorry if my english is not 100% correct. And thanks for this great opportunity, really.
  • Hello Jeff,

how would you describe your style of Bassplaying on your record "Tone"?
Is it as smooth as it often is in Pearl Jam Songs or are there elements of a more funky style?
Have you got a favourite scale?

    Bässte Grüße,

    Paul from Germany

Do you ever want to hit McCready when he invades your stage space???

Having dominated a solo project, will you now demand to sing Indifference at every PJ show??

Will we hear any metal on this record? I've always heard you have a love for Slayer and other metal band.

Matt Cameron said that Eddie Vedder is really good at fitting lyrics to a specific piece of music. Is this the part of songwriting that you find most challenging? If not, what do you find most challenging?
  • What's up Jeff. I was wondering how you record your initial ideas. Do you carry like a potable recorder or do you only write and record in a studio? Also, do you come up with songs with just the bass or do you use other instruments as well. Thanks!

    Congrats, Jeff!

What happened to all the crazy hats? It's been a long time since you've rocked one. (Or at least since I've seen you wear one.) Do you still have a collection, or are they history?

    More seriously:

Was it freeing to have control over every facet of a song, of an entire album? Or intimidating?

Hi Jeff, we were told that you have been recording Tone for 12 years. If so, do you think that it can be considered a compiliation of solo songs you've recorded for 12 yeras rather than a regular studio album?

Please come back to South America, you have a lot of fans here in Uruguay too!

What has been the biggest challenge for you in regards to breaking away from your Pearl Jam image for this album? Is there any pressure to create a different sound, feeling or vibe?
Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
And I don't feel right when you're gone away

have you ever come up with an idea when working on a solo project that you thought....wait a minute this is too badass to keep for myself, I better save this for the next Pearl Jam record?
