Hey Jammers,

The rumors are TRUE! Jeff has a solo project coming out next month. Full
details will be announced soon. In the meantime, here’s your chance to ask
him about the project yourself. Submit questions on this thread that you would
like answered before Thursday, August 28th, and the top 30 will be chosen and answered by Jeff himself. :)

Be creative and remember, only questions about Jeff’s record will make the final cut - so keep this thread for the questions.

    Oooo... exciting...

What inspired you as you were creating this album?

And why has the name of the album been changed from aTONEment to just TONE? I really like the play on words of the former.

Which bass(es) did you use to record (and write) the songs on this album? What was the inspiration behind these songs and instrument selection?

Jeff, assuming I'm right, from what I've seen of the cover, it's Icarus after flying too close to the sun. Usually, that myth is a parable for arrogance, which I don't associate with you at all! What's the story behind your artwork for this?

    This is awesome, thanks Jeff!
Can't wait to pick this gem up - my question would be:

Will you be utilizing 12 string, fretless and and upright basses on this new album?

You are awesome Jeff - keep up the super work!

    Ok, Here goes nothing ........

" Jeff, Being as though you are a magnificent bass player to say the least, Is this solo project going to be a variation of that specific type of sound ( Bass )? Or will the main focus be on other things such as vocals, percussion, lead, rythem , or a mix of everything? "

ex. We all know that Tool and Sublime are examples of a " bassy" kind of music sound....... ty

Great question. I'll take it a step further-

Do you play all the instruments yourself, and will any songs have any other artists contributing to the writing credits? Also, will we be expecting moving music and lyrics such as 'Other Side'?

    Jeff:

There was an old photo of you with a 70's GTO or some other car of the sorts, with the engine open and a condenser mic hanging over it. Can we expect some other innovative experimental sounds on this record?

    Thanks

    Jeff, one more question:

Out of the 12 or so years of working on this, was there one main bass rig that kept giving you the sound you desired or were you consistantly changing it up depending on your mood towards the song when it came time to recording.

    Thanks again

Why did you change the album name from "aTONEment" to "Tone"? I thought "aTONEment" was so creative.

Also, do you plan on touring in support of this album? If you do, PLEASE come to the south- Florida and/or Georgia would be grand! :)

I know that Robbie Robb's group, Tribe After Tribe, just had an album released, but will we ever see a Three Fish reunion?

What ever happened to the Starting Lineup Action figures that you used to put on top of your amp back in the 90's? I know the reason why you stopped putting them up there (people started stealing them- I believe in Orlando, FL was the first one stolen :( ) But what happened to them?

How would you describe the sound of this album?

Doing an album without the band, do you approach it in a different way or not, and why? Did you find this process more challenging since you didn't have their creative inputs as much, or less challenging because you didn't have any possible conflicting viewpoints of theirs to deal with?

    Thanks, keep rockin!

Let's get serious here. Clearly the most important question is will the awesome hat(s) ever come back and/or did you wear it and use their secret powers in the recording process?

very much looking forward to the album, sir Jeff.
