Which song got you into Pearl Jam? if you weren't there when they started out.
i was born in 1989 so i first heard them at about age 7, i remember hearing Alive on the way to the mountains in my dad's beetle, but the one song i remember hearing that made me want to hear more is Elderly Woman Behind A Counter In A Small Town.

"Becoming a Bruce fan is like hitting puberty as a musical fan. It's inevitable." - dcfaithful
I'd borrowed Ten off a friend some months before, but didn't much care for it (BURN THE HEATHEN!!), and I saw the video for DTE back in the day when MTV played music videos. I didn't recognise Ed's voice as it sounded so different to Ten!
Revisited Ten, loved it and then bought Live on Two Legs, and the rest is history.
I was 15 and I remember we're watching it with my sister. Still one of my top 3 songs.
Best on the web - check them out

instantly LOVED it.
Where I'm not ugly and you're lookin' at me
I can see why.... I love it too...
Loved "Hard Sun."
Bought soundtrack. Thought, "this Eddie Vedder guy is amazing."
Nephew says, "You know he's in a band, right?" (I didn't.)
Bought "Ten." Immediately bought everything else.
But the song that completely, totally hooked me was "Given To Fly" from "Live on Two Legs." And since then, so many other songs have sunk hooks into me that I am ruined for all other bands.
It's growing up just like me.
Then my buddy down the street brought over Dirty Frank and Alone. I revisited Ten and liked it much better.
How I really got the bug was when Vs. dropped. Dave A. really got a hold of me with his funkiness...you know, unplugged, MTV music awards with Neil, SNL and Letterman...
