Definitely BLACK! Was really into the band after that. But when No Code came out I was going through some hard times and that entire album got me through saved my life and it has been all down hill since then with this band and I!

Jeremy, and that was the first song I heard from Pearl Jam. I wasn't hard to convince. :P

Same here. First heard his voice on that song. Needed to know who he was and what else he was doing...

For me it was all of Ten too. Was given a tape of it and from the first listen I felt like I had finally found "my" band. Strangely, it was Why Go? that was the song that stuck in my head originally and the one I found on infinite repeat as I toiled through a horrible job at the time. Instead of knowing it was "Why go home?" I thought it said, "Why go on?" So it became my theme song for that pointless job. ;)

I was already hooked on Mother Love Bone so when 10 came out I was anxious and, of course, got hooked on Alive like a crack addict. Then Once. Then Even Flow. And on and on and on...it's been a great ride.

It was either Jeremy or Alive..I was NOT as young as some of these other fans, but was hooked just the same. Bought the album and then heard GARDEN, OCEANS and BLACK.... Need I say anymore?

The first Pearl Jam song that I ever heard was Jeremy in very early 1992. I saw the video on MTV and I thought it was so cool and I absolutely loved the song. My parents went out and bought me Ten on cassette. I was a Freshman in High School at the time. Loved them ever since.

I had a year of study abroad (I'm from UK) and ended up at URI. It was 1992 and everyone was crazy about Ten and PJ. I kinda liked a couple of songs but didn't get the big deal, and had no idea why all the girls were going nuts over Ed. (I only saw him in the overplayed Jeremy video and it isn't that flattering). Flash forward 20 years and I am on Youtube and stumble..literally....on Black from Pinkpop '92. OMG...I fell in love with the band, the song, the whole thing! Hooked to a point of obsession. I now am the proud owner of 8 bootlegs, almost all of their albums and have spent the last six months getting to know them...musically speaking. I now have the crazy idea that I HAVE to go to see them live...hope it happens or I'll freak out.

The fresh face on Ed at that '92 festival, and the look of awe as he gazes out into the crowed just blew me away. When I found the Porch clip I finally say whay he was 'Crazy Eddie". I really love how they have grown as a band and not just stayed the same. Kicking myself for not paying attention earlier :x

Black was the first for me. Then of course, I enjoyed VS. Then when VItalogy came out, I enjoyed Immortality, Corduroy, basically everything on that album. It made me fall in love with the music all over again! :)

When Black was first on the radio I fell in love with Ed's voice. I don't know why. It just sounded so full of emotion and beautiful to me.

And then I started noticing their other songs as they appeared on the radio. I lived in Seattle back then so they were played a lot.

i walked into my favorite record store one day (probably looking for something that sucked) and heard Nothing as it Seems over the stereo. Since that day my musical tastes have never been the same.

when I was a kid, I remember watching late night tv when my parents were asleep....in the early 90's much music (canada) would play rock videos late at night as they were "too hardcore" for the daytime when they would play all that pop music...anyway, one night the video for "alive" came on and I remember being absolutely mezmorized by this guy with long hair and torn-up shorts throwing himself around a stage and swinging a microphone by its wire.....then I saw "jeremy" and couldn't understand being so drawn in by this band...I still get mezmorized

    Jeremy.

It was 1992 and the video was in heavy rotation on Much Music. Loved the video, picked up the tape and fell in love on first listen.

The fixer got me started on PJ. Technically Alive though before I heard the fixer on the radio I would play Alive on Rockband. The guitar solo is awesome and the drums are tight to go wild on (imagining they are real drums of course >_<)!

For me it was the first time I heard/saw Even Flow on Much Music, in 1992. I had to endure a horrible family camping trip that summer - I don't know what I would have done without my Ten tape and yellow Sony walkman  (remember those?! They were indestructible....kinda like Ten ;) ).

For me, not so much a particular song, but an experience.

I had started to become a "fan" around Vitalogy, and looked forward to the releases of No Code & Yield. So I guess you could say it was Better Man or some other single off of Vitalogy if I were to try and pin point a particular song . . . but it wasn't until seeing them live in Barrie, ON on my 20th birthday in 1998 that I became obsessed and would say I became a hardcore fan
