Oh wait...I guess it kind of makes sense...
Thats the same reason I will never play 1st base for the New York Yankees.....
Because Lou Gehrig played there....
And the same reason I will never play running back for the Chicago Bears....
Because Walter Payton played there.......
I never wanted to play first base for the Cubs because Leon Durham played there....Reading 2004

Wow, check this shit out from ESPN this morning!
The Miami Heat quickly followed up their triumph in the LeBron James sweepstakes by finding a taker for Michael Beasley.
But they had to virtually give away the No. 2 overall pick from the 2008 draft to do so.
Sources close to the situation told ESPN.com that the Heat agreed Thursday night to a trade that will send Beasley to the Minnesota Timberwolves, who can simply absorb Beasley into empty salary-cap space and furnish Miami with additional financial flexibility to continue the dramatic transformation of its roster.
To complete the trade, Minnesota must only part with a 2011 second-round pick to acquire Beasley. The teams have also agreed to a swap of unspecified future first-round picks."FF, I've heard the droning about the Sawx being the baby dolls. Yeah, I get it, you guys invented baseball and suffered forever. I get it." -JearlPam09250 -
The Wolves just acquired a player who will most likely score 20+ points a game next season for a SECOND ROUND PICK! This guy was taken one spot after Derrick Rose two years ago. I don't really believe the Wolves will be winning much this year again, but man, what a steal."FF, I've heard the droning about the Sawx being the baby dolls. I had read they had been considering trading him regardless. I also read recently he admitted that he regretted leaving Kansas State after one year.Reading 2004

the guy is a bit of a head-case ... hopefully, his head gets screwed on a bit tighter next season as he's got loads of talent ...
the heat will have chalmers plus the big-3 ... they are basically gonna have a brand new bench ... can this work? ... i really don't think so ... wade and bosh have both had injury issues - they can't play 38+ mins per game ... who the heck is gonna make up the bench? ... i heard mike james is being considered ... good luck with that guy ...0 -

This season will be about figuring out where the holes are and trying to fill them in the off-season. They'll still be really good, but no depth at all, which will spell their doom in the playoffs.Idaho's Premier Outdoor Writer

I'm not convinced it can work either. I'm not huge Bill Simmons fan, but he wrote this in his column yesterday, and I think it's pretty close:
"10. Let's say LeBron signs with Miami. Can you even make the Finals with LeBron, Bosh, Wade and nine minimum-salary guys? Because that might be next year's team … and if that's what happens, the answer is "no effing way." You don't win titles just because of your top three. That belittles the meaning of guys like Derek Fisher, Robert Horry, Steve Kerr, John Paxson, Brian Shaw … you could go on for hours naming role players who swung a title. The 2008 Celts lucked out by getting James Posey, Eddie House and P.J. Brown for practically nothing; Miami wouldn't have that luxury this summer, not with so many role players jockeying for contracts one year before the possible lockout. Nobody is taking less money to showcase themselves for a summer that might not happen. Even if Miami could spin Michael Beasley for a fourth guy (say, Trevor Ariza), that's still not enough. They'd need one more rebounder, point guard, a 3-point shooter and a center. Good luck.
11. Another problem: You realize how many minutes these guys would log on a three-man team? About 42-44 minutes for 100 games … and if anyone missed an extended stretch of games, then that would put even more pressure on the other two. Crazy. No way they win more than 50, especially with teams gunning for them every night. We've also never seen two perimeter superstar alpha dogs coexist for an NBA title -- not even when Jerry West and Elgin Baylor teamed up with Wilt Chamberlain against the aging Celtics in 1969. LeBron would have to accept becoming Mega-Pippen to Wade's Jordan. (Yeah, right.) Even during the final quarter of the 2008 gold-medal game, when everyone on the American team was staring at each other wondering who was going to step up against a red-hot Spain team, there were a few minutes of tentative, "I don't want to step on anyone's toes here" basketball before Kobe said, "Screw it, get out of my way" and took over the key portion of the game."

ya ... i posted the same article a dozen or so pages ago ...
thing is - there are gonna be tons of guys who are willing to take squat to play on that team ... good character role player guys ... the question is whether or not they can assemble a decent enuf bench to win ... miami is fortunate that lebron and wade both guard their positions real well ... they need a centre who can defend and rebound ... and a couple of shooters ... another back up big who just needs to rebound ... and they are gonna be solid ...0 -
Is it just me or is LeBron an egotistical asshole? That whole stupid ESPN thing last night, which I am ashamed of myself that I actually watched, he mentioned several times how much he gave to Cleveland, his talents, his 7 years there, etc... He used the word "I" a lot. Who cares really, there are much more to worry about than where a multi-millionaire is going to play basketball. I do feel bad for the people of Cleveland though, not because of LeBron, but because you live there.....hahaha, I am just kidding, no need to go off on me.Who the f*ck goes around skinning cats~~Ed

He laid down like a little bitch because he hurt his elbow in the playoffs. Give me Kobe over this clown any day. It will be funny if one or two of them blows out a knee. This is why I hate the NBA. Or whne this team loses to Orlando or the C's in the playoffs and watch the little bitch stram off the court.0 -
ESPN's LeBron circus good for TV ratings, bad for sports media
Author and LeBronologist Buzz Bissinger described it as TV's equivalent of waterboarding. New York Post columnist Mike Vaccaro called it an "awful night for Cleveland, worse night for sports, worst night for ESPN." Eric Stangel, the head writer and executive producer for The Late Show with David Letterman, delivered an equally scathing review on Twitter: "I'm keeping my 2 yr old up to watch the LeBron James Special. I want her to see the exact moment our society hit rock bottom."
The decision on "The Decision" finally came at 9:27 p.m., following the kind of milking best done on a farm. Watching the LeBron James reality show on Thursday night, I gained a new respect for TV's Amish in the City and Temptation Island. This was not a good night for sports television, even if the ratings turn out to be big.
ESPN executives had said repeatedly on Wednesday that James would announce his decision in the first 10 to 15 minutes of the show. Not so. The show opened with Stuart Scott, Michael Wilbon, Chris Broussard, and Jon Barry chatting around a table for 10 minutes about the magnitude of the moment, before Scott read something off a teleprompter that cited James' greatness. That was followed by a feature in which viewers were told how LeBron had dazzled and amazed us and that he was the most coveted prize in this year's free-agent class. The Bristol crew finally tossed it over to freelance interviewer Jim Gray in Greenwich, Conn. ... 22 minutes into the show.
Then, in a decision that defied logic, reason, drama and journalism, Gray asked 16 questions over six minutes before getting to the question that needed to be asked. He asked James if he was still a nail-biter, if he wanted to sleep on his decision, and he even repeated a question ("What did you expect from/what have you thought about this process?") before finally asking the following: "The answer to the question everyone wants to know: LeBron, what is your decision?" The inane and extended foreplay was excruciating and tortured, and the veteran journalist was destroyed on social media, some famous voices among the critics. Tweeted Keith Olbermann: "Jim Gray, my pal, I am about to retroactively take Pete Rose's side." Offered ESPY host Seth Meyers: "Foreplay from Jim Gray just as satisfying as I've always imagined it would be."
If Gray had a highlight, it was his asking James about going to Dwyane Wade's team and not being the headliner. "For me, it's not about sharing," James said. "It's about everybody having their own spotlight and doing what's best for the team." He later asked how James could explain this to Cleveland and what the major reason was for leaving the Cavaliers, and got James to give up the news that Erik Spoelstra will remain the Miami Heat coach (at least for now). As James answered Gray's questions, I'm sure I wasn't alone in thinking this: Any chance we could get a shot of the crowd's reaction in Miami or Cleveland?
The most compelling moment of the program came at 9:52 p.m., when producers hustled to get footage of James' No. 23 jersey burning on the ground in Cleveland. Wilbon -- he and Barry both performed above this circus on the night -- asked the player how he felt about the image. Said a clearly nervous James: "I can't get involved. .... This is a business. I had seven great years in Cleveland. I hope the fans understand, and maybe they won't."
Late on Thursday night, ESPN executive vice president Norby Williamson, who had told reporters the announcement would come early in the show, responded to the late reveal. "Our plan was to go to the announcement within the first 15 minutes," said Williamson. "It turned out the LeBron interview began 22 minutes into the live show. The larger point I was trying to make is that the news would be presented within the first part of the program, to allow for analysis and perspective on the front and back end of the announcement. I think we accomplished that despite the fact that my prediction was a little off."
