There is no issue with paying for AMERICANS to be on welfare, since there will always be a percentage of the population in any country in poverty, even the wealthiest country in the world. I do not like the idea of having illegal immigrants who do NOT pay into the system getting benefits. I think its just to easy and convenient for you to pin anyone who disagrees with your views as a racist. Its a good tactic, but has no basis.

I'm sure you wouldn't mind carrying them around, however with you having to wear that badge of honor all the time comes the possibility of losing those precious documents or stolen. Therefore leaving you with them and facing the possibility of being questioned and NOT having those precious badges of honor. You may come out fine after being questioned but imagine a Hispanic American with lost papers might NOT turn out as well as you.

    Peace

Someone (maybe it was unsung?) in another thread the other day said this law shouldn't be a problem because everyone should just carry their documentation in their cars! Can you imagine?! No one's documentation OR cars would be safe!

We will then see the rise in priorty to get these documents by trying to steal by those who ARE citzens to be sold to those who aren't. I'm REALLY now looking forward for a month I'm spending in Phoenix this summer. i better make sure my passport is still valid.

i'm pretty sure it would like that, but most likely it would be an american flag or something....
Makes sense, since you already have to wear an American flag to prove you're a patriot.

i do not fail to see the big picture. i see through your racism. so the fuck what if these people can become citizens??? so fucking what?? you act like there are not americans born into poverty here every fucking day. they are low income, most likely not skilled since they can not find a job tht pays more than minimum wage, they qualify for medicare, medicaid, social security and other social services benefits. what about them?

Maybe he would like to see them be subjected to forced sterilization, since he frequently talks about how they're all irresponsible for getting pregnant. (Maybe not... but it wouldn't surprise me.)
its people like you who feel you are better than everyone else because you were lucky enough to have been born here that absolutely disgust me.

"Protest shows violence and hate in AR"??

based on the thread title, i thought this thread was supposed to be about violent protests in Arkansas.....isn't the proper abbreviation for Arizona AZ???

seriously.....are you and scb really that stupid to not realize it was a typo? get the fuck over it already.

Read the rest of her posts and give me one reason to believe it was just a typo. I'm sure the post about civil disobedience being violent was just a typo too, right (even though she came back and reiterated it)?

And the reason I gave her shit about it is because SHE WAS GIVING ME SHIT for saying I hadn't heard about the violence in Arkansas. At that point she had not mentioned AZ anywhere, so I actually thought she meant AR. I'm from AR, so I wanted to know what was up. I'm just saying she shouldn't start shit with people when it was HER mistake. Maybe she should have gotten the fuck over it. And maybe you should too.

EDIT TO ADD: I find it pretty funny that she's being defended by someone named moe.ron.

don't need to read over it again. i read it the first time, saw what the thread title said, realized what the abbreviation should have been. typo.

i'm not really defending anything she's saying, just asking you and gimme if you honestly didn't realize it was a typo. obviously, i thought you two were smarter than that. well, at least i thought you were. not a big fan of gimme, personally. don't really like how he comes off with the majority of his posts.
ok whatever twat...based on her mouthbreather posts i figured that is what she really meant..

you know, i figured you'd come up with some kind of name....wasn't counting on twat. thanks, much appreciated.

I actually gave her the benefit of the doubt and thought she meant what she said. That's why I replied and said I didn't know anything about it. Then when I logged back in later and saw that she had posted videos from Arizona, she had already attacked me for not knowing about the events she was referring to, even though it was HER mistake that she referred to events that never happened.

Please don't suggest that I must not be smart if I didn't automatically assume she made a mistake. It's not really obvious unless you expect mistakes from her. If she had said AX, I would have thought it was a typo. But AR is an actual state.

Honestly, I don't think it was a typo anyway. I think she thought AR was the abbreviation for Arizona. (This isn't uncommon, but it's not a good position from which to make fun of someone else.) Not only are the R & Z not close to each other on the keyboard, as someone already pointed out, but this kind of mistake is consistent with the multitude of other posts I've read from her on this board.

OK. So... If you saw THIS POST that I have slightly altered and cut and pasted.... would you assume the poster meant NEW MEXICO? Or would you figure there were protesters protesting in New York?

If you say anything different... other than you would figure she meant NY... I call bullshit!

No comments on the violence and hate for authority from the protesters protesting the new immigration law? Throwing water bottles at police.
Where’s the media? Still reporting lies.....
Here is how CNN reported the violence

CNN-Chanting "Yes we can," waving American flags and holding signs reading "We have rights" and "We are human," demonstrators kept up a festive spirit as they denounced the bill signed Friday by Gov. Jan Brewer.

    Festive Spirit? WTF

You fail to see the big picture where this all leads. All legislation attempts for any type of immigration "reform" contain language to make these illegal aliens citizens. Most are low income, non skilled laborers who will then qualify for food stamps, medicare, SS benefits, and other social services and welfare.

Now I recognize the need for this type of labor, however they should be filling out the temporary work visas and returning home when their jobs are done. Examples include seasonal work, construction, farm work, fruit harvesters. Now if they followed the law I'd have no problem with them, as you say.

So yes you are right I worry about tax dollars first.

I am opposed to a work visa system that asks "them" to go home for a few months a year unless it comes with a direct, expedited path to citizenship

it seems wrong to say you can stay a few months we need your labor, will collect your tax dollars but once the apples are picked you got to go home...... it is the same thing we got now they just wouldn't have to jump a fence to get here

I dislike the idea of illegal immigrants getting away with living here and sucking out of the public system... My father is an immigrant and I know a lot of people who have moved here legally and gone through the process. Its not fair for them to have to wait their turn when others jump the line. Then again, some people might not have access to the same opportunities to come over... A rich businessman in Shanghai will certainly be able to immigrate legally but a poor man elsewhere may not have the means to a better life...

Anyways, I guess part of the issue is the carrying around documents. If immigrants have to do it then all citizens have to do it, hten how else is it not racial profiling? Will the police not ask a dutch immigrant or french immigrant?

I guess because I come from Vancouver - a very mutlicultural area - I find it interesting. If we did that with our Chinese population or our Indian population there would be an absolute uproar.

they pay into the system with paying sales tax. if they pay rent and utilities there is some tax in that. unsung says the bill paves the way for these illegals to becoem citizens and i said who cares, if they become citizens then they are citizens. i pin everyone that supports racial profiling and wants brown people out of the country and supports the arizona law racists.

Hey aerial... I'm curious as to why you posted this....
    http://video.aol.ca/video-detail/studen ... IDURVNWS04

When you see this, what emotion does it evoke within you? Anger and hatred? You don't "feel for" these young people willing to be handcuffed arrested and prosecuted because they see how this law will effect their little brothers and sisters (i.e. think how horrible.... if they were born here in the US to "illegals" and end up parentless...) their parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, friends.... and more... harassed, living in fear....etc..... the implicit racism...You don't "feel for them" for having the courage to stand up in such a way, for what they believe is right and just?

Reminds me of a song from the most socially conscious band I know. A band that encourages their listeners and their fans to support causes they believe in and use the "power of the people" to fight social injustice... A band of activists...

Oh I will make my way, through, one more day in...hell

How much difference does it make
How much difference does it make...

I will hold the candle, till it burns up my arm
I'll keep takin' punches, until their will grows tired
Oh I will stare the sun down, until my eyes go blind
Hey I won't change direction, and I won't change my mind

how much difference does it make
how much difference does it make..
    how much difference...

I'll swallow poison, until I grow immune
I will scream my lungs out till it fills this room

    Exactly...
For example, if a law like this was envoked in BC against people who seemed like they could be "illegal immigrants" my father would have to carry around papers, my boyfriend would have to carry around papers, my boss would have to carry around papers, my coworker would have to carry around papers, one of my best friends would have to carry around papers.... the list goes on, and all would be stopped just because they LOOK lke they "may" be illegal...
japanese Guatemalan Indian Filipino Chinese... they all are legal but could be stopped and harassed. that's not fair at all.

they DO pay into the system. when they buy goods and services they pay sales taxes and when they get their paycheck they have taxes taken out of that AND if they are here illegally that means they can't file their taxes so instead of receiving a refund the government keeps all that money.....so what are YOU paying into that they aren't?
