Good arguement in your favor! There is no God and I know nothing because I cant spell. I work in the field of science and comparative medicine not classroom teaching my friend.

The point here is that those that denounce Darwin for being "wrong" based on modern cell-knowledge is totally missing the point. Several passages of Darwin's famous book are by now incorrect and imprecise in themselves. But this is because of newer and more refined theories based on the essentially same basic theory. Darwins basic theory of evolution gets confirmed everywhere scientists look. It also in advance fits facts that were not known at the time the theory was first proposed, which gains it a LOT of extra credibility. You can always jerry-rig a theory to fit known facts, it's when new facts fall into place within the same theory that it really takes the step from "just a theory" into a main scientific theory that by now has so much going for it, that it's hard to envision that it could be all wrong. It may need tweaking and adjusting, but that's the stage it's currently in.
Point is, Darwin holds sway not because we believe him, but because the theory fits real-life facts to a staggering degree. So it's too easy to say "Well, you believe in Darwin, but I believe in the bible". One is confirmed using all kinds of tests to attempt to disprove it,m while the other is accepted at face-value and needs a leap of faith...
Trying to add some substance to the debate as it has devolved into name-calling for the last pages.

It is basically a ploy... to go on the offensive to disprove science, instead of having to defend Creationism. That is where the whole, "Evolution is illogical' routine comes into play because... seriously... how can any employ logical reasoning to defend Creationism? A talking snake? Really?
I'm not arguing creationisim as defined. I believe in old earth. I'm saying something created us, that something I call God. I dont deny science, only theory which I believe there to be much evidence against, and darwinisim and evolution is just that. Theory.
Ya a talking snake is to be taken litteraly just like we are to drink and eat the blood of Jesus. My gosh man think!
...
So... with that... are you saying that you are open to the possibility that God created apelike creatures that have evolved into Modern Man? If you are arguing for 'Intelligent Design' (formerly presented as 'Design Proponents', a.k.a 'Cdesign Proponentsists'), you are arguing for Creationsim.
And you accept science... just not scientific theory... evolution, plate tectonics, gravity, relativity... right? Gravity doesn't really exist... because it just a stupid theory.
...
And regarding the talking snake... all you have said about Man being Evil stems from that story, right? Where the talking snake tempts Eve to eat of the tree of knowledge and commit the original sin... all that stuff you have been trying to hammer home... it all comes from that talking snake, right?
And as for drinking wine and crackers of communion to symbolize the embodyment Christ's sacrifice... how are they related other than being in the same text?
And if the Bible's text is not to be taken literally... why take the teachings of Christ litereally, right?
I think you need to think before type out your thoughts.

Its more of a sign of my generation bud. I grew up with spell checker and computers so I never learned to spell correctly. Sue me. You want to blame someone blame Microsoft for the invention of the degradation of future generations and iPhone for not having a better spell checker in the PJ app. Einstein didnt like what he found in relativity so he tried to disprove it by multiplying by zero. Even a child knows this isnt possible. I guess he isnt intelligent.
All in all I've found the answer to the original question of "Why is it so unbelievable". Its a simple matter of the will of a person more so than the evidence of proof. One doesnt want to believe so they dont. You dont want God. Just hope, if he does exist, that he doesnt say the same about you.
I'm glad you guys had fun crucifying and attacking me with your truths. I've ultimately come to Johnny and Gern's viewpoint. "I once had faith that you people were real to me. I saw your words and trusted that what you said was from your heart so I took them to heart. Now I can see that you really dont exist to me. I dont like what you teach and honestly , besides the words you type, I have no proof of your existence. By your beliefs you are just a result of chum-goo spat out by material and random chance and I know I possess a spirit which isnt bound to the earthly because my creator told me so. Why chat with someone I dont believe exists spiritually?

That statement can be easily flipped, you know. It's a matter of wanting to believe that there is a God looking after us. I understand and somewhat share that hope, but I have found no real evidence of it. To me it's a matter of "wanting to believe in something" but being incapable to swallow any religion's dogmas and doctrines. But I see no need to put down those that dont believe what you do as "spiritually non-existant". I will take grave offense if you aim that at me. Belief in christianity requires the leap of faith and the shared context it creates to be talked about in the way you seen to want. You prerequire some axioms that are not shared by the ones you debate here. And you can't really get a dialogue going without an agreement on the premises.
Just saying that it's hard outside the christian environment to get an understanding going. I'll grant that you've gotten a lot of shit flung at you throughout this thread, and much of it uncalled for. But dont fall into the trap of avenging arrogance and thinking that if people dont particularly believe in God the way you do, nor credits Jesus with anything special, means that they are "spiritually non-existant". I am fairly certain that I, for one, contemplate spirituality, morality and meaning at least as much as most christians and probably more than a great deal of them. I just dont claim to have the definite answers, and have serious problems with the answers suggested by religion.
(edit) I find science a lot more helpful, and I also find it making a lot more sense without the bible or whathaveyou to explain to me why the stuff that dont make sense, can be twisted into a sort of sense. Reviewing the data we have, and avoiding bias from outdated sources is the best we've got. And for the record, if we ever got a real answer to whether God exists, I am absolutely certain that he's nothing like the bible makes him out to be. Nor that he sits on a cloud judging us 24/7.

The spiritually non existant statement is an analogy to Gern and Johnnys view towards God. Read all the posts. I was refering to them only

saying I'm spiritually non-existent shows exactly how little you've been listening to me/us. that couldn't be further from the truth. you don't need christianity to be spiritual.

This is the fundamental misconception that people (Christians) I have had discussions with regarding this matter, seem to make... that people like me, who question the existance of God... as told to us from the Bible and it's religions... reject God... that we are godless... souless. We don't necessarily reject God... we reject the God concept that religions are selling us, based upon stories that date back to legend and myth from Neolithic Man living in the Fertile Crescent. But it always comes back as we do not want God. Why is that? Does it make it easier to toss us in the lake of fire? What? Why?
Many people accept religion and take the blind leap of faith that other men are telling them they must take. But, not all of us. Just because we aren't sitting the pews next to you on sundays doesn't mean we are lost, need to be saved or possess no spirit or soul... all it means is that we do not prescribe to te same set of religious guidelines as you. That's all.
...
And as I have said... the God I believe in isn't going to throw me away because I don't know... i know i don't know. And I don't believe He will cast aside Johnny or Gern because they have questions or don't believe. The God I believe in holds no conditions to us... He loves us... no matter what.

In Florida , an atheist created a case against the upcoming Easter and Passover Holy days. He hired an attorney to bring a discrimination case against Christians and Jews and observances of their holy days. The argument was that it was unfair that atheists had no such recognized days.
The case was brought before a judge. After listening to the passionate presentation by the lawyer, the judge banged his gavel declaring,"Case dismissed!"
The lawyer immediately stood objecting to the ruling saying, "Your honor, How can you possibly dismiss this case? The Christians have Christmas, Easter and others. The Jews have Passover, Yom Kippur and Hanukkah, yet my client and all other atheists have no such holidays.."
The judge leaned forward in his chair saying, "But you do. Your client, counsel, is woefully ignorant."
The lawyer said, "Your Honor, we are unaware of any special observance or holiday for atheists."
The judge said, "The calendar says April 1st is April Fools Day. Psalm 14:1 states, 'The fool says in his heart, there is no God.' Thus, it is the opinion of this court, that, if your client says there is no God, then he is a fool. Therefore, April 1st is his day. Court is adjourned.

I don’t believe that you are spiritually non existent.
This is what I said.
"I've ultimately come to Johnny and Gern's viewpoint. "I once had faith that you people were real to me. I saw your words and trusted that what you said was from your heart so I took them to heart. Now I can see that you really don’t exist to me."
That meaning that they once believed the words of the bible and followed Jesus and God because they told me they did. Just as I had listened and taken heart to what they were saying in their posts.
I went on with
"I don’t like what you teach and honestly , besides the words you type, I have no proof of your existence."
By this I meant they saw and studied the bible but then began to doubt that God existed as I began to doubt what they were saying because I didn’t like what they were teaching just as they doubted what the Bible taught.
Saying this: "By your beliefs you are just a result of chum-goo spat out by material and random chance and I know I possess a spirit which isn’t bound to the earthly because my creator told me so. Why chat with someone I don’t believe exists spiritually?'
They believe evolution to be fact. That they came via the goo to the zoo to you by random chance and that "they" think they dont possess a spirit. You cant believe in evolution and believe in possession of a spirit by the way. So if they dont believe they have a spirit or even believe in spirits plus I dont believe what they preach so I shouldnt I believe in them. They dont believe in God, I dont believe in them. This is what I meant by I have come to their viewpoint. I was satirically speaking like I had given in to their line of thinking.... disbelief. This was all. I cant see that I wasnt too clear.

There are lots of grammatical errors but the spelling is adequate I guess.

"Every judgment teeters on the brink of error. To claim absolute knowledge is to become monstrous. Knowledge is an unending adventure at the edge of uncertainty." - Frank Herbert, Dune, 1965
So... with that... are you saying that you are open to the possibility that God created apelike creatures that have evolved into Modern Man?

American is the correct way. The evidence is that when Brits sing, it's in American.

Wish you well in your journey.
Peace
Dan

Hail, Hail!!!

FLORIDA COURT SETS ATHEIST HOLY DAY
In Florida , an atheist created a case against the upcoming Easter and Passover Holy days.
I enjoyed that!
just kinda funny to see people post this early in the am, have a great day.
Godfather.
Yeah, but we don't get the day off. Oh, man!
"With our thoughts we make the world"
This is what I said.
Gern did I make any spelling errors?
Why not? There are many christians who do believe they are not mutually exclusive...

There are lots of grammatical errors but the spelling is adequate I guess.
