Good day for the Cubbies - won their 2nd series in a row and Rizzo's 1st HR.

as crazy as it sounds, it seems Babe Rizzo has turned the team around.....he's got some good timely hits which were missing early in the year....and the bullpen isn't melting down as often.

also, how the hell did lehair make the all star team?

i think Babe Rizzo did spark something in them.

LaHair spent nine years in the minors, he has had a really pretty good first season in the majors and he is likable.

    he's not an all star....

he is on pace for 450 AB's. stud players typically get 600

on pace for 26 homers and 56 RBI's....26 is a nice number, but 56 is not all star level unless you are a slick fielding shortstop

soriano would have been a better choice for the cubs.

i'm not disagreeing with you. I was surprised he made the all-star team too. I do think, though, that being in the minors for 9 years, having a decent first year with the Cubs and being likable helped him get picked.

But, Soriano is never the better choice for the Cubs...not anymore at least. :nono:

Is there anyone in baseball faster than tony Campana? 25 steals for a platoon player and pinch runner. That's good stuff. He needs to spend the next off season with ichiro to learn how to hit consistently.

saw him hit an inside the park HR last year at Wrigley. that was defiantly pretty cool. he's got speed to burn....wonder if he can return kick offs.

caught the end of the Kerry's 20K game last night on comcast sports.....he looked huge compared to his current self....and he was throwing some nasty shit. they kept calling it a curve, but it looked more like a cutter. a ton of movement away from righties. shame his arm blew out.

interesting to see the park too....yeah, it's teh same, but it's different.....and they need to bring back the budweiser house....and stop fuckin with shit like digital crap in right field.

They need to tear Wrigley down, and build a new stadium..

One that doesnt smell of urine, and actually has a parking lot.
    Take me piece by piece.....

unless you tear up blocks of hood, there isn't going to be a parking lot there....unless they build it under the stadium.

    which, i don't know why they couldn't.....

and with landmark status....gonna be difficult to tear it down.

there is something magical about Wrigley...i know..they haven't won in over 100 years and they are having a terrible season, but Wrigley is special.

Wrigley is a dump. Most of my Cubs fans friends agree. They have to tear down the grandstand and rebuild it. Keep the bleachers, scoreboard and ivy and all that nostalgic shit.
