that's a horrible idea. he isn't bad as a #6 hitter (certainly not worth however many million he's making... but not bad). then again, the Cubs are loaded with guys that aren't bad in the six or seven spot...Everything not forbidden is compulsory and eveything not compulsory is forbidden. oh Speedy, open your heart and your mind to the loving embrace of Cubs baseball. love without expectations. never stop believing. be expansive in the universe rather than contracting within.
imagine the view of the ivy and bleachers enconsed by skies bluer than indigo, the smell of the lake and the din of the crowd. a ball pounds into the catcher's mitt and the umpire's grunt that surprisingly yet unambiguously means a strike. the white uniforms and blue pinstripes with a scattering of red - the colors of freedom and baseball as we know it. the vendors hawking cheap processed sugary treats and Old Style for exorbinant prices. the crack of a bat and the roar of the crowd. the sun beating down through the thick July air. it's baseball season - the time of year when we remember our sandy lots of little league. the time of year to be optimistic. the time of year to embrace a game that is infinitely better than the doldrums of daily life.Everything not forbidden is compulsory and eveything not compulsory is forbidden. Our left fielder, Moises Alou, blaming some poor kid named Bartman, and ruining that kids life....
My picture shows a team that has accomplished NOTHING in 100 years....
