so did we lose all the Met fans on here? Are they spewing their doom and gloom elsewhere..

i sent a pm to the other day to yosi. he read it but didn't respond and the champ has been around but hasnt posted in here. so yea this thread is bout dead. i'd rather see this thread die then have it be filled with talks bout a dude with a 70's porn stache and a present day philly.

Three weeks later and the Mets are still going strong...Pagan has been a monster and Wright is back to form...Bay can still suck my dick though or at least give everyone a reach around for the money he is stealing from the club...

this thread is becoming like a holy bible that just collects dust in a box in your basement for years

i really really want lilly. he be a great #3 and we could get him on the cheap. maybe give up mejia and fmart for him. i think mejia is over rated and belongs as a closer. although the way krod keeps pitching we might need to keep mejia. krod reminds me of the great armando benitez.

pelf, santana, lilly, niese, dickey wouldn't be to bad

once beltran comes back i'd go with a lineup like this

    1. reyes
    2. castillo/tejada
    3. beltran
    4. wright
    5. davis
    6. bay
    7. barajas/blanco/thole
    8. pitcher
    9. pagan

    Sucks for Frenchy eh..

Since Pagan batting second has been working, I'd go with:

    1. Reyes
    2. Pagan
    3. Wright
    4. Beltran
    5. Bay
    6. Davis
    7. Barajas
    8. Castillo
    9. Santana

It would be awesome if Pagan could play 2nd base..

    4. wright
    5. davis

yes with the amount speed guys it would work. the pitcher batting ninth just kills reyes getting more ab's as far as i'm concerned. just picture having castillo, reyes and pagan all coming up to bat in the 3rd, 7th and maybe 9th inning. i'd say that gives you a few more chances at scoring runs and men on the bases.

well maybe if your team can find a pitcher that doesn't spit the bed, you can join the Yankees in the World Series if they get there..

I know I'm just setting myself up for another big letdown, but the first half gave us Met fans a reason to be optimistic again..enjoyed watching some of the unexpected players step up and do their thing....nonetheless, the other shoe is dangling, I can feel it ;) ..

dont worry. the phils will knock that other shoe off in the next two months.

i'm gonna try to get tickets to citi for either of the phils two series up there. i think they're both weekend series if i am not mistaken. haven't been there yet...

    yup

    aug 13th-15th
    sept 10th-12th

both weekends series at citi field

we need bullpen help in the worst way more then starting pitcher. i'm fucking tired of seeing dessens and feliciano. this team shoulda kept mejia in the pen like manuel wanted. so stupid to dick mejia around like the yanks did to joba.

WE GOT THE TEAMWORK, TO MAKE THE DREAM WORK - LET'S GO, LET'S GO METS!!!

Love the Mets chances in the second half...Braves, Phils and Marlins all finish strong - we just need to finish stronger...

If we could snag Haren, Oswalt or Lilly without givin up the farm that'd be great! Can use another arm, a healthy Reyes and a healthy Beltran -

LET'S GO METS!!! Let's take the next 2 from SF!!!

when your facing 2 of the better pitchers in the big league it's kinda hard to score runs with a fucking oddball of a lineup

reyes needs to start. i'd rather have a 75% reyes and tejada then cora and tejada. this team is like night and day without him.

Not really worried about the Phills as the Mets will undoubtedly implode on their own as usual....by the looks of things, they are right on schedule starting the second half of the season....anyway, let us know when you plan on coming so you can buy me, X-Man, and Metsy a few cold ones ;) ..

And here we go again, same old song and dance..it's always something with this fucking team....phenomenal starting pitching, but can't manage a fucking run in 18 innings..Big Pelf will miss his next start and Reyes will probably miss the rest of the season....but at least Castillo is close to returning to the club!!!

Like Metsy said, he's been day-to-day for the last few weeks with an oblique issue....just like he was day-to-day last year at San Fransisco before an ill-advised start sidelined him for the remainder of the season and part of this season....the Met staff are schmucks basically...incompetence abound..

i've come up with a drinking game

everytime the mets give up a run met fans do a shot of their weapon of choice or for every game the mets are shutout you have do a shot for the number of runs the opposing team scores
