worse player, jacobs or chris davis? I don't know why anyone would want either
    jacobs by a mile

it's either a home run or a strikeout when he comes to bad

Same with Davis. It's all he does.

just totally utterly pathetic lack of heart baseball on a day where you honor 4 former mets who have more balls then this team will ever. strawberry and davey probably still have more heart then this mets team and that's just sad.

i'm fucking tired of maneul going uhhhhhhhhhhhh or ummmmmm before every response to a question in his post game press conference. you aren't in da ghetto anymore and nor will be you managing this team anymore after the season. get his ass outta here now.

Agreed..what a despicable display of pussiness....why the fuck didn't they at least throw at LaDouche or Reynolds....I'm officially done with this garbage team! Anyway, big week coming up and I'll be watching every pitch, but after that, I swear I'm done ;) ..

My kids will be Yankee fans. They simply can't go through this mediocre-at-best garbage that I go through seemingly every year.

in all honesty, i have never been there. it just does not look too inviting on tv. larry anderson said it best last year: "i feel like i am walking through the yellow pages."

I've gone to Shea hundreds of times for an old job and with friends. I know a lot of people who are Met fans, so I've gone and seen a number of great games by Met teams that had 10 times the amount of heart and grit than the editions of the last few years. It's baseball and as long as I see a decently-played game, that's fine by me.

I've only been to the new place about five times and I'm still mixed on it. No doubt the amenities are better than Shea, but I'm sure any Met fan would trade that for competent management and a competent product on the field that doesn't lose 14-1 on a day members of the last championship team are honored.

Something like that happening in Phila. would have ESPN in a tizzy. Philly fans are like the stepchild with a record; nothing goes unnoticed.

The most annoying thing was when the Vet was closing and they kept showing the Santa snowballs thing... which happened in Franklin Field!

Losing 14-1 on an honorary day is ugly. Kind of like the Eagles losing 42-0 to Seattle on MNF when they retired Reggie White's number. (I think the Giants had something like that happen too with Phil Simms.)

I was at the Reggie White game...Mike McMahon was the eagles QB that night. horrible. Was the worst sporting event I had ever been to until I saw the flyers blow a 3-0 in game 6 of the playoffs vs pitt in 2009 (which ended their season).

honorable mention to this year's saturday afternoon game vs the twins. phils blew a 5 or 6 run lead in the ninth. not good times
