That game was so bad I was rooting for Arizona to win (I'm not a Met fan, but don't hate them). I figured it was 2 AM and I want to go to sleep. If they can't beat these type of teams in a reasonable time then they don't deserve to win.

Exactly....especially after the pitching held/survived, even fucking Perez....I was like, okay, here comes Wright, Bay, Beltran etc..we gotta get a run at least......and nothing, inning after inning....fucking pathetic....I'm done with this team...who am I kidding, that cheating girlfriend comment is spot on..

I guess, but he's still your best option at that point. You know things are bad when a Yankee fan is discussing Met managerial strategy...

not his fault or omar's or hojo's fault the players cant hit. it's easy to blame management but it's really the players that are at fault for this choke just like the past 4 other years. the only players that are even hitting decently are wright, davis and pagan. our pitching staff keeps us in games alot and have nothing to show for it cause the bats suck.

I disagree. I think a good hitting coach finds something a hitter is doing wrong and corrects. Not that HoJo is going to re-invent Bay, but he's had 4 months to make an improvement. This is the danger in hiring a team legend/fan favorite in such a critical role. Eventually you have to cut him loose. As a yankee fan, i saw it with Guidry (though in fairness to guidry, he just did not have the horses that Dave Eiland has been blessed with). The Phillies hitting coach guided them to 2 NL pennants and a title, and they dropped him like a bad habit after 90 games even though most of his lineup has been hurt at some point. My opinin: ride it out, and fire everyone at year end. Hand it over to Wally for 2011, and give him a full Spring Training to crack the whip, and let these guys know that loafing won't be tolerated. And let him pick his coaches. that goes out the window if they could somehow get Piniella or LaRussa, but I highly doubt that

    agreed

coupons won't fire him, they will just put him in the minors. it would upset the fanbase if they just outright fired him. the last thing the coupons need is the fanbase even more angry then they already are. the coupons are very found of the 86 team. the whole franchise from the big leagues to broadcasting is full of 86 players.

i say fire everyone now and bring back bobby v for 3-4 years. i have a feeling he's waiting for the mets job to open up. look at how badly the teams he had and how much he got them to play with fire and with heart and wanna go through a brick wall for him. i don't think wally is ready yet but in due time he will be.
