Very cool set. Surprised it's not colored, since it's from VMP. I was lucky enough to get most of my Miles by waking up at 6 am and hitting the local swapmeet. I have come across 2 copies of the original mono pressing of Kind of Blue. That was back in the day when vendors would be selling records for $1. Found so much good stuff and, in retrospect, probably passed up just as much.
1991- Hollywood Palladium, California with Temple of the Dog, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains -RIP Magazine Show Oct. 6th
    1992- Lollapalooza, Irvine, California
    Nothing since then. I suck.
2016- Fenway Park, Boston - Both glorious nights
    2022- Oakland Night 2

How is that U2? Did you get the one with the 40 songs? I was considering getting it, but it got such mixed reviews. Let us know what you think. I trust people on here more than random reviews online.

I got the 4LP with the 40 songs. Haven't spun it yet, but have listened to it a couple times now throughout my morning commutes. I would say I enjoy the vast majority of reinterpretations. Some are quite cool and have a pretty different feel from the original - Bono adding new lyrics to some songs helps breathe new life into them and give them a different perspective. Some feel just like acoustic versions, which is fine and enjoyable. And a couple don't quite hit me, but don't ruin anything for me.

The set is probably geared a bit more towards diehard U2 fans than casual fans (and I'm definitely a diehard) and I think it is well worth the price tag and having in my collection.

The 4 LP version was the one I was considering. Maybe I will try to check out some of the songs before I buy it. But I am a big fan so from what you are saying I will probably like most of it.

Good thing that happened at local thrift store today:  Picked up a near mint copy of this fine record for $3:
    Primary

Bad thing that happened at thrift store today:  I lost my wallet.  Must have dropped it on the way out.  I'm totally stressed over it.   Driver's license, credit cards, cash, library card, insurance cards, my favorite wallet... gone.  Gonna be a hell of a week.

Nice. I didn't know that record existed.

Say a prayer to St Anthony to find your wallet. Bummer.feeling. I once 'lost' mine snd found it in my closet months later. Good luck

Yeah, good stuff.  And though it's been awhile, I remembering likening the movie fairly well also.

Thanks for good thoughts for finding my wallet.  It's never a good time to lose it, right now is a terrible time to do so.  But maybe Anthony will come through for me!

Just arrived all the way from Europe.  I'm jumpin' around the room!  (Having my wallet returned to me today might have something to do with that too, lol)

    Who is David Lindley?

If you get a chance, check out these two excellent albums with his band, El Rayo-X:

    Primary
    Primary
He did a lot of work on Jackson Browne's earlier and best records, and several other artists as well.  It was said of him that Lindley would pick up just about any musical instrument, learn how to play it, and play it well and with feeling.  I believe he was what some would refer to as "a musicians musician".    I'm a bit surprised he wasn't better know.  He infused life with great energy and joy in his music.

Check out this live version of one of his better known works, his blistering rendition of "Mercury Blues":
