Jeter is the first Yankee in the liveball era to have 50 hits and in the teams first 30 games. Unreal.
    Shows: 6.27.08 Hartford, CT/5.15.10 Hartford, CT/6.18.2011 Hartford, CT (EV Solo)/10.19.13 Brooklyn/10.25.13 Hartford

He may be 37, but he's playing like he's 27.

I understand that people are injured, but Nunez is a liability in the field. Get him out of there.

Look up Hector Lopez and you see Eduardo Nunez, just with slightly more power.

Glad to see Sabathia back to pitching like an ace. Good win, and Cano's heating up.

Also, apparently Gardner's going to miss more time than anticipated.

If this is true they may want to look outside of the organization for some help. With the whole ARod DH'ing every other day thing they need to get Nunez out of that lineup.

Might as well call up Cust he can't be any worse in the field.

Oh, I was wondering what Cliffy meant. They guy is hitting .294...not too shabby, and he used to play short (I think), so i assumed he was a decent feilder... but i havent been able to see him play, so I dont know his shortcomings... I know he's been moved around a bit in the field though.

Error in the first yesterday led to a run, error in the second yesterday led to a run. Replaced in the 6th for defensive purposes. He is worthless and his fielding hurts the team a lot more than his bat helps.

Nunez has played exactly 162 games in the majors and has committed 25 errors.

Can someone please explain to me why they are reticent to make Soriano the formal closer? Even if Robertson is the heir apparent at this point, it's pure silliness.

Both guys had pitched 2 days in a row, but it's the BACK UP that gets to close the 3rd day in a row? :? How does that make sense? The 1st string gets day 3 off, but the back up is sent out there? :?

It seems like they are forcing something for no good reason. Sure, Robertson K's a bunch of guys. But, if he's going to struggle on back to backs, or can't go 3 days in a row, then he's useless in that role. Might as well be able to pick your spots. And no, I am not over emphasizing his blow up from 2 nights ago. That happens. My comment is more about who got the call on day 3 in a row for BOTH pitchers than a single blown save.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

Girardi said it had to do with Soriano being more familiar with pitching 3 days in a row, but I would imagine it has to do with the fact Robertson threw 44 high stress pitches in the two outings while Soriano threw 25. I am fairly indifferent as to which one of them is the closer this year.

But that's not even the point. I don't have a dog in the race. I just want what's best for the Yankees. Robertson seems to throw A LOT of pitches every time he's out there that makes even back to backs sketchy.

Again, if the "back up" is the guy that can go 3 days in a row, is he in fact the "back up?" So, why pretend otherwise? Doesn't that lead to issues in planning/strategy?

And why would you be pulling for one guy over another? Is he on your fantasy team or is he a relative?
