Tough break guys - I actually just found out about this.
Hopefully he rehabs and comes back for a more appropriate exit.
He's the best closer ever, but losing him will still not effect your team's regular season all that much. Those guys simply don't have that much influence on W-L records. Playoffs are probably a different story.

I've only posted in this thread twice (when George passed, Jeter's 3000), but after yesterday and today I'm compelled to post. Mo is one of the classiest players I've ever seen. I have so much respect and admiration for him. I felt horrible seeing the video of him going down yesterday. I'm happy he's adamant about coming back. A true champion like him deserves to go out on his own terms. I wish him the best of luck for a speedy recovery.

Man. Robertson didn't hurt his chances of claiming the closer's role tonight. Wow.
Terrific.

I'll take some of those three strikeout saves since he was my 25th-round pick in fantasy baseball.

Hughes with another good start. Best start of the season so far.
Good start. I don't know if you're watching the game on YES but David Cone made a great point about Hughes. It was in the sixth when Logan got up. He felt since Hughes had been struggling let Girardi leave him a little longer than normal just to continue that success even if it meant skipping his next start. I tend to agree.

Yea and that's what I've been saying all along. Sometimes Joe would take him out too early. Like his last start for example. He wasn't struggling and could have gotten the 3rd out. I think since there was a day off this week he was able to let him go out for the 7th.

If that's true, then I'm stunned. I remember him being a very religious person when he was with the Yankees and he always seemed like a good guy, but you never really know what someone is like at home.

In the same week that Michael Pineda had season-ending surgery — and a little more than a week before the Seattle Mariners come to Yankee Stadium — Charleston starter Jose Campos was placed on the disabled list with elbow inflammation.
Campos, of course, was the fourth part of this winter’s trade that sent Jesus Montero and Hector Noesi to Seattle and brought Pineda to New York. Pineda never got into a game for the Yankees before suffering a serious shoulder injury, and Campos lasted just five starts before being shutdown.
Obviously, with a pitcher, Tommy John surgery jumps to mind any time you hear about elbow injury, but for now there seems to be no indication that Campos needs a procedure. A Yankees source said that inflammation was the only diagnosis. Even so, in the wake of the Pineda injury, it’s certainly bad news and makes this winter’s trade look even worse for the time being.
Campos was 3-0 with a 4.01 ERA. He had more than a strikeout per inning, an opponents’ batting average of .213 and a 1.14 WHIP, and those numbers were even better before he gave up eight runs in 2.2 innings in his last start before going on the DL.
This trade just keeps getting better and better especially with Montero heating up. :fp:

Complications with Mo, but nothing that will hurt his comeback, it sounds like.
