Can't hit if their lives depended on it.

Off to watch the OKC-LA game.

Yeah, trade looks like balls now but Montero isn't exactly tearing the cover off the ball. Ibanez is having a slightly better year so who knows how much difference he would make. I'd much prefer the $20 million bats to get a fucking big hit here and there.

    Rough goal there

I think it has to with Safeco field. He's doing better away than at home. And even though it was only 30 at bats his numbers at Yankee stadium were huge.

So the offense has been absolutely atrocious, particularly with runners in scoring position. They're slow and old and seem uninspired. The rotation, when not battling injuries, has been wildly inconsistent, to the point that you don't even know what you're going to get with CC, who's supposed to be the ace. Mariano Rivera, the best closer of all time, is out for the season, and their next best reliever, David Robertson, is also injured. Along with that, the blockbuster trade that occurred prior to the season has resulted in Michael Pineda arriving overweight and also being injured for the entire season.

It can't get any worse than this, right?

If Pettite pitches like he did on Friday, it would be a nice relief for the pitching staff.

Something. Whether it's funny or scary or whatever. Just something to loosen these guys up and get them on a roll. I hate to say this but at this point right now...they suck. :?

Being shut out by KC isn't a great way to start the series. If Tex is as sick as they say he is then they need to put him on the DL so he can get back to 100% instead of giving him a couple days off and hoping it clears up. It's not like it's hurting the offense to lose him for 2 weeks at this point. Batting him 7th is not going to make him healthy all of a sudden.

Agreed we should just DL Tex and call up Pearce, it's not like we're getting anything from him anyway.

    WOW.

That was as close as a play gets.

Win is a win. Over .500. Win the series and get rolling.
