Agree. PJ has opened with Elderly Woman at the last three PJ shows I've attended (4 of 5 counting Eddie solo). Nothing worse than hearing 1,2,3,4..1,2,3 (in PJ terms) when you are hoping to hear the opening chords of Release, Oceans, Long Road, Of the Girl, Sometimes, Can't Keep, or Wash. 3 ..... shows ... in.....a ..... row.

agree, if they want to play the shit out of something from Vs, may I suggest Leash?!
As much as I love it I agree. There's a few which are played every or almost every show that could be played with less frequency, Betterman, Given To Fly, Why Go, DTE, Alive, Even Flow, YL, Just Breathe, The Fixer, Got Some, Unthought Known, Amongst The Waves. Just to name a few that could appear more often shows they're not exactly short of good replacements: Tremor Christ, Whipping, In My Tree, Who You Are, Rats, All Those Yesterdays, NAIS, Breakerfall, All Or None, Sad, Fatal, Thin Air, Man Of The Hour, Leatherman, Leash, Garden, Ghost, Help Help, EVACUATION, Satan's Bed, Oceans, Undone, Hold On, Indifference, Unemployable, Pilate, Faithful, No Way, Untitled/MFC, Last Exit, U, Severed Hand, Gone, Parting Ways, Sleight Of Hand, Can't Keep, Hard To Imagine, Rival, Dissident, Alone, etc, etc, etc, etc.........
Leash needs to be put away, there's something that just doesn't work about a late forty something singing "drop the leash, we are young", no, you're not. Great song in its time.
I'd go for Elderly Woman too, though I guess those of us that are tired seeing any particular song are probably going to too many shows!
The secret to a happy ending is knowing when to roll the credits
I'd agree that some songs do get played a lot and for the hardcore it would be a little menotinous to hear certain songs all the time. And with recent tours covering basically festivals these songs have been in high rotation. Sometimes just mixing the set lists up in terms of song order helps 'freshen' a song up in my opinion. You look at Newcastle Australia in 06. Alive opened the set, Even Flow was played in the encore and Corduroy was also played in the 2nd encore. Overall I think Ed does a great job writing the set lists and it must be hard sometimes.
(Although i know Ed didnt create this set) It would be interesting to hear from the band themselves the songs they love to play, want to or would rather play more or hear from them the songs that they are tired of playing!?? Surely one of them is tired of Even Flow after over 700 times!
I've posted this before, but it may be the best live performance of any song they have ever done.
Wow! This hasn't ever been one of my favorites. Always loved Mike. After watching this...I have a new passion for this one!! This performance was simply incredible!!!

Don't mind it in the main set, but yeah I agree it would not be my choice for an opener.

I read a lot of trash about Pilate. Are you crazy? Pontius Pilate!!
Also, Low Light?? A beautiful song, Yield is untouchable. Those of us who were young during Ten and remember it, fell in love again with Yield, pure gold.
"Did we just become best friends?" I totally agree, except for Jeremy and Black and I would add add Alive. Pretty much any popular mainstream PJ song that is played on the radio. People who aren't into PJ relate these songs to them, especially Alive and Even Flow. The band is so much more than those mainstream songs. There's even a dude on here that has a thread devoted to Even Flow, blows my mind.
That song just reminds me of the dude who goes to a show just because they remember PJ being huge in the early 90's, doesn't recognize 90% of the set list and then holds his beer up in the air and sings along to Even Flow. I hide under my seat at this moment because I'm embarrassed for both of us.

For me, I could do without seeing Comatose ever again. Alot of songs on that record I would enjoy hearing more.

This thread was stupid the first time around. I wouldn't want them to put away any songs. Even ones i don't care for. Just because I don't wanna hear Jeremy ever again doesnt mean there aren't a ton of people that love it and may want to experience it live. And Ole? Really? Like they play it a lot now?

Gotta agree with ya here! From what I've gathered over the years, I think everyone in here is hoping for all songs to be retired and they play Of The Earth 32 times every night.
