What's up with so many fans wearing PJ shirts to the shows?

You wear flannel shirts? HAHA. I havent seen those worn in a decade atleast. But I swear Im not judging.0 -

i hate to say it but i agree with the OP ....... you become "THAT GUY" ...i never wear a shirt of the band im am going to see .. dont get me wrong there is nothing wrong with it .. i just dont wanna be 'THAT GUY"...
and its next to BLASTING A VERY VERY BAD BOOTLEG of an old concert for over an hour in the parking lot BEFORE YOU GO IN... i even had to move my truck cause this TOOL pulled in next to me BLASTING a horrible boot from 94 ..the recording was so bad i packed up my cooler/table/BBQ and chairs. and moved ..
BUT you can wear a BAD RADIO/MOTHER LOVE BONE/ CITZEN DICK tshirt
side note: back in 2000 i went to the SHOWBOX/key arena shows and purchased a really realy cheesey vintage SEATTLE shirt with the skyline on it from the market... i have worn it EVERY SHOW since....23 and counting

Flannel shirts - you still pick them up here in South West Australia for $7 at the supermarket. They.ve never been hugh fashion, but they're lightweight, cheap and warm - perfect on a cold day or after getting out of your wetsuit in winder.0 -
i love wearin a pj shirt to a pj show.
people from red moz might have a different opinion.Yeh I've seen Pearl Jam, too. But I can't remember the dates.0 -
My hubby wears his PJ shirt from Maui 1998 to most shows. Ed actually pointed to him and put his hand over his heart at one show we were at! So, I don't think the band hates fans wearing their shirts."I'd rather be with an animal." "Those that can be trusted can change their mind." "The in between is mine." "If I don't lose control, explore and not explode, a preternatural other plane with the power to maintain." "Yeh this is living." "Life is what you make it."0

And yep, I'll be wearing one to Perth - Nov 14.
HAHA! Yes - this could be the reason such an insanely ridiculous 'rule' is even thought to exist.........I mean really people, take a chill pill........You go to a Pearl Jam (or any other band, although none are as cool), concert because YOU LOVE THE BAND!!!! You want to show your love and loyalty for the most awesome band in the world by wearing a PEARL JAM teeshirt!!!!!!
And, yes - I shall be wearing one too - and proudly I might add - and I highly doubt that I will get any odd looks......0 -

I'm not sure why this would be a rule or why anyone would have made this up...
By the same logic then, one shouldn't wear any of their sports team apparel when going to watch their team play...
It's only different because when you go to a Sporting event there are two teams playing, and you actually are rooting for one. At a concert everyone is there for the same reason.Good point.

Yes, I've seen members of the band wear Pearl Jam shirts during the show. What is the etiquette for this?
BTW, for the record, I wear my Pearl Jam shirt to the shows, proudly, and if people don't like it, they can kiss my ass. :x0 -
I always wear PJ t-shirts to shows.
I guess I keep breaking the 'old rule'...
Horseshit. People should be able to wear what they damn well please to shows.Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...
... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.0 -

Umm, at just about any discount to mid-range clothing store in the Northeast U.S. and in Canada. They are WARM. Just because they were in fashion at one time is irrelevant. They are a staple piece of clothing in areas like mine where you can have sub-zero temperatures for weeks at a time.R.i.p. Rigoberto Alpizar.

I never understood this idiotic "rule". It's effing stupid. Who cares! I'm at the concert supporting one of my favorite bands, i'm gonna wear the shirt too. So i guess i shouldn't wear my Phils hat or shirt to any of the games? or my flyers jersey to any of their games?0
