    as to your concerns...who cares? it's a goddamn t-shirt

PCU (great movie) and yes, I was that guy at 2/3 shows last week
  • Yeah- but you are pretty much AWESOME!!!! So, its okay!

you hardly come on the pit.......you're just showing off your avatar pic ain't ya?!?!!:lol:

  • Here's an idea---> Why care what other people are wearing? Instead of judging them by their shit, Pearl Jam or not, introduce yourself and say 'hey'. Everyone is there for the same reasons and its not to be critized for their fashion choices. Myabe everyone should grow up a bit and learn that there is nothing wrong with showing a little support for the band.

And, even if you hate it when people wear the t-shirt of the band that you will be seeing, why make up a thread about it? Who cares!!!!!!!!!!

here here!! says the guy that wore one on each night...!! :geek:

There's an old rule that you never wear a band's shirt to their concerts. PJ fans seem to disregard this completely! Any particular reason? If you're at the show, why do you need to be wearing a PJ shirt? Just curious.
Agreed. 100%. I was sporting a PJ hoodie on the cold days in the parking lot at the Spectrum, but not into the show. It is a rule...

yeah I never wear a shirt of the band I am going to see, i just think it is cheesy. I usually wear Phish shirts to PJ and shows and vice versa. Mainly because all my shirts are PJ or Phish shirts.

I thought the unwritten rule(not that i follow any rules, I wear what I want) was: you can wear a Pearl Jam(or any band) Tshirt to a show as long as its not from that particular tour/year. I love seeing all the old and rare shirts at the shows. Anyways, PJ fans rule no matter what!!!

  • Really are you a bigger nerd for wearing a Pearl Jam shirt to a show or are you a bigger nerd for following some unwritten rule about what is cool to wear. At 39, I wear whatever I feel like.

I've actually never worn a PJ shirt to a show before--- until reading through this thread. Now, more than ever, I wanna wear their shirt to a show

  • I've always thought that it is uncool to wear a band's shirt to that show. I don't think that there is anything terribly wrong with it, or that people shouldn't do it - just that it's uncool.

Some people said that Eddie wore a shirt at a show - that's uncool too (keep in mind that he also wears white pants). Do what you like if it's not hurting anyone - squeeze into a pearl jam onesie if you want to. I just think that it is uncool.

For anyone who thinks that talking about being cool/uncool is superficial - you're probably right, but coolness has always been a part of rock and roll. I think that fashion has a lot to do with being subtle, and wearing a band's shirt to their show is anything but.

Just my thoughts on the matter.

Ps. some people have mentioned flannel shirts being out dated - from what I've been seeing these days, they're everywhere & are a pretty big trend right now
  • I did see a guy at a Pearl Jam show wearing a Nickleback shirt this summer - that was definitely uncool.

  • People should be more like me...wear whatever they want, to where ever they want....and then they would all be cool like me!!! Oh, wait, that would make me uncool cause then I would be wearing what everyone else was wearing......so scrap that idea! Seriously people - like so many other people have mentioned on here, who gives a toss what the hell you wear?! Wear what ever the bloody hell you feel like, and don't give a shit.......so long as you don't turn up naked, I really doubt anyone is going to think you are 'cool' or uncool'......at 33, I long since stopped worrying about THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8-)
  • I think this is a non-issue for many Pearl Jam fans. I might have seen that Piven movie before, but for the life of me, I don't think I've ever heard that rule. Lots of people at the Gibson in LA were "that guy," apparently (yours truly included).

I'd hate to be part of a clique/group of friends where the "alpha" declares this non-issue to be any sort of rule. (I'd hate to be in a clique where everyone follows whatever an "alpha" character says!) Like so many other posters have said, I'm not going to obsess about what other people wear to a show, and I'm a bit too old to care what others might think of what I wear. If they wear a PJ shirt to a PJ show, that might actually break the ice in starting a conversation...who knows?

    Cheers!

  • Cool people wear Pearl jam shirts at Pearl Jam shows! 8-)

I got harassed at Hartford 08  but nothing will stop me from wearing what i want

if wearing a pearl jam shirt at a pearl jam show is cool... than consider me miles davis!
it's largely due to eddie that i liked to jump off of things as a child...
  • I think, wearing a pj shirt to a show isn't that uncool especially if it has some tour dates, from other shows, I never wear mine at all, and take it to the show just for the occasion. I don't see the big deal about it..
