Last night was unbelievable, such a great show!
We sat behind the stage, (non tenclub tix, those will be Saturday night )
The view was great, the sound was perfect.
There were so many highlights for me musically, 1/2 Full, Push Me, Pull Me, Garden...I've gotta say, I was extremely happy with the whole set, and the energy of the band and the crowd was phenomenal!!
I said it before and I'll say it again, the Spectrum had the shit kicked out of it last night. So perfect for its final blaze of glory!
But one of my favorite highlights, Getting to see my bud 'reallyGrooVn' and her friend jammin' out all night, front row center!!! They hit the lottery last night and were right on that rail.
So friggen' awesome!
Every time I think about them today, I smile about 10 miles wide!!!!
last night was amazing, my husband is the ten club memeber..so im new to this..last nite was great ..all of the ten club memebers were awesome, we had a great time...The setlist was insane..They rocked the house like they always do.....great meeting all of u...
"It's so nice to hear that in other parts of the world, the stress- borne from envy- that one finds for themselves is the animosity they develop towards a person selling a box of records. How fortunate!" ~ Thirty Bills Unpaid
Man, it's not enough that Philly possibly has 2 world series in a row, they are also getting possibly the best PJ set lists ever, so effing lucky!
If they are really playing everything, just think about the rarely played songs that will be in the next two sets: In My Tree, Deep, Oceans, In Hiding, Alone, Glorified G, Rats, Undone, Brother, Brain of J, Strangest Tribe, Untitled, Habit, Sad, Parting Ways, Sleight of Hand. They will never get to all of them, but the possibilities just blow the mind. Can't wait for the boots!
Change don't come at once, it's a wave, building before it breaks.

and apparently they were soundchecking otherside yesterday!!
I love that song!
If they played Strangest Tribe I would be floored, I've also never seen them play Thin Air...
we were talking about that last night, some day I have to hear that live.
Who the hell am I kidding? I'll be happy with anything!
I was on the floor and once again, I thought the sound was fucking awful. You couldn't make out what they were playing half the time. It was just noisy echo. This is probably going to be my last Pearl Jam concert.
Wow, what an amazing show. I've been to some 20 pearl jam shows and this was probably the most eclectic set list I've had.
Seats were decent, Section 226 Row 7 on Mike's side. I've only seen on other PJ show in the spectrum and my seats were 103 in the back (like 15 I think) There's never a bad seat when you're seeing PJ
Took a bunch of friends from college and my brother, 3 of them were PJ virgins, there were updating facebook during the breaks about how AMAZING this show was.
One buddy wanted to hear lukin, he got it accoustic with the strings, wow.
Another just wanted to hear YLB, he got that was well.
I was happy to hear speed of sound for the first time EVER, Garden was great, also I love Given to Fly live, one of my favs.
All in all, was a great show, even before the show in the parking lot was awesome, jamming out to Pearl Jam grilling some burgers and dogs and drinking beer with the oh so friendly jamily.
I now have no voice and I can't hear. I'm coming back for Friday and Saturday(non FC seats.) I have no idea how I'm going to recover between them...
Best moment was ed saying to the strings, "see if you can keep up with this fuckers!" before Lukin.
did I meet you guys last night? I have the mini and showed you the soundcheck at the parking lot... Sounds like it was you could be wrong though.
"...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".
"..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”
I was on the floor and once again, I thought the sound was fucking awful. You couldn't make out what they were playing half the time. It was just noisy echo. This is probably going to be my last Pearl Jam concert.
nice. i hope your 10c number is lower than mine.
i was also on the floor and the i thought the sound was OK. not great, but OK.
This was certainly not my last PJ show!
"Find myself singing the same songs every day....
ones that make me feel good when things behind the smile ain't ok...." -Hoon
the whole night was amazing. from the first notes of social d till the end of ylb i have never had a better time at a concert. i loved being on the floor first the time ever. great phillies fans around me and my friend in section 109 rows 1-4. never once did they give him shit for wearing his yanks hat. nothing as it seems and 1/2 full and down(w/ mike ness) were the highlights for me and having animal as an opener was a shocker but cool. this was the one of the best pj concerts i've been to. sound was excellent at the spectrum. its up there with msg. such a shame it's closing down. i cant wait for philly 3 and 4.
Ron: I just don't feel like going out tonight
Sammi: Wanna just break up?

I must be getting too old for this shit. I can't enjoy myself at a concert if the sound blows. All of the Pearl Jam shows I've been to have had unlistenable sound. It must have been like seeing the Beatles in 1964...the audience screaming with dull echoey music in the background. My back hurts from standing in one spot for 2 1/2 hours, and I'm surrounded by bros in Phillies shirts. Then I have to drive 2 1/2 hours back home. Fuck that!
I've been to well over 50 concerts in the past 4 or 5 years in various states and provinces and I've never seen so many people huffing nitrous in the parking lot after a show. In fact, I can't even remember ever seeing a display that even came close to that. And I like drugs! Fuckin funny as hell though. Where were the police? I got a bunch if videos of these idiots in the car next to us doing nitrous and saying the dumbest shit. I'm tempted to post it to YouTube but I dunno if I will.
Garden was fucking awesome. So was no way, the real me, porch, push me pull me was really Fuckin cool to. Eddie did a lot of screaming and really belted it out. Cool as fuck.
I thought that the first set was sort of lame. There were a lot of songs played that were on my do not want to hear list but oh well. I was hoping to hear a couple more new tunes like got some and unthought known. I thought those would get played for sure. The show really got good during the first encore.

Nope that wasnt me. I was actually there for the sound check. I just picked up my tix when it happened.
Speaking of which when is everyone getting there Friday? I'm going with my GF, who is not as big a fan as me and i'll need a place to go. Last night I was with a group of guys and we just tailgated. Not as much fun with just her and I lol
"You think I got my eyes closed but I'm starring at you the whole fuckin' time." E.V.
and yes I agree that the sound sucked a lot of of the time. Eddies voice sounded great and cut through the mix fine but the guitars definitely sounded muddy a lot of the time. Matts bass drum didn't have much punch either. I was 7th row 203
Thers no "Push Me Pull Me" here, the man in front row is drinking beer!!!!! It should be Push Me Pull Me at a PJ gig, not a lazy audience as this. WTF, americans cant you rock?
Why do you care so much about the audience? Are you at the shows? Is their inability to meet your "rock" standards affecting you in some profound way? Chill out and enjoy the bootlegs!
And don't give the argument that US shows are bad due to GA versus reserved. WE have no control over that! There is no survey taken on what type of show we prefer. We get what the BAND provides us, which is reserved seating, which does restrict the amount of rocking out due to space constraints. Also don't forget we have the FREEDOM to rock out however the hell we want to, actively or passively.
Sorry for the rant, but the crowd complaints are just getting absurd.
.
dont be sorry for the rant. i'm pretty fucking tired of europeans comparing crowds too. people need to go fuck off and get off that elitist high horse they are riding. honestly i'm seeing this alot as of late from european pj fans and it's a shame people will nit pick the band. if it bothers people that much that the usa doesnt have ga THAN KEEP SEEING PJ IN EUROPE AND STAY THE FUCK HOME

Haha There was a guy with 3 huge balloons all by himself in lot F1. A group of 7 of us were sitting around finishing some beers after the show as the lot cleared out and he came over and offered us some.
We turned him down, and he just stood there for 15-20 minutes rambling and swaying back and forth. Finally a friend of mine asked him to leave so we weren't associated with him and his huffing. The guy just stood there and mumbled a little more. Finally we got in our car and left. For the 10 minutes we were in the car trying to get out of the lot, he was still there. Loser

i agree about the nitrous: amazing, i got video of dumbasses doing balloon after balloon in a minivan, wtf. something about minvan soccer moms suckin nitrous bothers me. in any event i thought it was supposed to be inhaled all at once not nursed for 5 mins. who knows...
also running up the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art after the concert was cool too. i yelled yankees sucked at the top and got a few horn honks from cars passing by.
Ron: I just don't feel like going out tonight
Sammi: Wanna just break up?
My dad is a dentist and I've had nitrous in the office a bunch if times and it's not somethig to do while you're driving. At least I wouldn't drive without waiting a bit. Fucking funny stuff though. It must be a Philly thing haha.
Boy...the first half of this show was great, but the second half...oh, the second half...right around the first encore the show just got epic for me. I was amazed, astounded, impressed, floored...I've seen a lot of live music, seen Pearl Jam nearly a dozen times now, and this easily, by far, was the best concert I've ever been to ( feel almost traitorous saying that considering how astounded I was by 9/11/98). To try to put it to words, I've never seen a band play so well to the audience, nor the audience play so well to the band. What an cozy atmosphere, a great audience, excellent heavy tight music...the best!!
During 'Wishlist", when lyrics were fumbled, Eddie quickly covered with some made-up on the spot stuff, anyone catch what he sang?
I remember getting confused with him and I thought he just shrugged and said something like "I'm just singing" as to excuse himself. Was pretty cool
at one point, it seemed like he was trying to think of something to say about the phils, but couldn't think of anything. suddenly the progression was over so he just mumbled something like ''i wish they beat the yankees.''
Gawd this was an AMAZING show. Eddie had a perpetual smile on his face (ooooh, I hope they do "Smile" on Friday!).
Highlights:
Eddie and Mike doing "Ball and Chain" with Social D.
Mike and Jonny returning the favor with "Down" (My brain: holy crap they're playing "Down?" My conscious self: "Yes, yes they are!!!"). It's one of my favorite Mike McCready songs and I love that it was re-worked in some way in 2000 as "Distress" on The Rockfords' self-titled debut. Up until now, that's as much "Down" as I have gotten, to be there last night and hear the original live, was extraordinary.
I can do with less "Yankees suck" chants but I'm not a baseball fan though it was great to see Eddie get into the spirit of things by asking what the score was and then having a card girl come out with the score. I know he loves America's favorite past time, and it was just sweet to see him be so happy.
"Blood" we got this in LA 4 and it blew me away then and it blew me away now. Man, that song just rules.
The "Last Kiss" sing-along. It's arguably, my least favorite of their covers but there was something magical last night about the entire arena singing it for Eddie while the band played on. Very moving.
Mike McCready, the man is his own highlight.
The guys messing up on "Come Back" and then Ed saying, "We'll come back to it later only to segue into "No Way" you had to be there; it was priceless. He also said, "I don't think Bruce Springsteen makes this many mistakes" or something to that effect. Such grace, gotta love it.
After finishing "Yellow Ledbetter" Eddie turned and looked at Stone and he had this "I can't believe I just did that!" look on his face. Tired, he bent over and Stone, smiling back, patted Eddie on the back. Band of brothers they be.
The audience. Pearl Jam shows are amazing but really, it's the bonding that happens with the people in your section that also makes the shows extra special. To all the people on the floor in Stone's section, thank you! You fuckin rocked!!!
Can't wait for the last two! It's going to be awesome.

Although most of the fan reviews have been postive and should be as the two shows were great, I find it funny that a few people think the audience energy was weak. Of course the audience was chill during some of the sets, they're playing very rare songs that only the ten clubbers know. The band knows this and don't expect to have a sing along during rival or push me pull me. It's because the Philie crowds are so energetic and faithful that they have the confidence to play so many unknown songs and attempt this experiment.
