This is awesome. I'm so freakin' jealous of those that get to go to these shows, but it sounds like I will definitely be picking up Philly 1-4 on bootlegs...
Down with Ness on vocals. That's my favorite PJ song... great stuff...

41st Pearl jam show last night.
First time hearing "No Way" live. Well worth the wait.

I was suprised to see so many open seats and very perplexed with people leaving during second encore.
    Whats up people of Philadelphia?

    Looking forward to Fri/Sat shows.

  • In terms of Push Me Pull Me:
Even if you're an avid PJ concert going fan, that's a tough one to know all the words to; or even to follow along to the rhythm. Unless you only listen to rarities, some may not know that one as well.
    AND THATS OK!

Of course, me and the guy next to me were rocking out to it, but I was in no way upset that many people didn't know it right away. I mean, isn't that one of the points of these shows: to turn people on to great music?

Amazing show, great crowd (as usual), and a fitting send off to an amazing arena. Don't know what else I can add to what has already been said..... Great seats from 10C (226 4th row Mike's side) and another outstanding performance from one of the greatest bands. Can't wait to see what's in store for Saturday.

  • Tuesday nighht was amazing, but Wednesday was even better. I think the packed house contributed to the incredible energy at the show, unlike Tuesday when there was lots of empty seats. I was really hoping that the two bands would join together on stage and we got it twice, Ed and Mike for Ball and Chain, and Mike Ness and Johnny 2 Bags for Down, both were fantastic. It was great to hear No Way, Betterman was crazy, and it may have been the best version of Porch I have heard live. Overall it was an incredible show and I cannot wait until Friday and Saturday.

    cool things last nite:

-watching utley HR on concourse before start of show

-obviously the ring girl with score updates. her costume was awesome and her body built

-ed calling up the "mike is god" t-shirt guys. they were there night 1 with orange t-shirts, last night they were invited to side of the stage next to mm for an entire song. not sure which song but they got a private guitar performance from a few feet away.

-entire arena singing beginning of betterman in unison, ed..."beautiful"

-towards the end of show ed was standing on top of drum platform in front of matt in between songs, he looks over to jeff as jeff re-inacts the dr j free throw line dunk, arm stretched out above his head palming ball

-end of show ed gives his bottle to a girl in front and she went to give it back. he was drinking a corona, maybe they traded, i picked the sequence up late but i doubt a bottle was in the crowd. anyway, he says 'no its yours, keep it, keep it, its yours, enjoy'.

-eds/bands appreciation of the crowd and phila area crowds in general over the years

-and of course the crowd itself which was awesome, which to me ranked with nyc 7/03 bouncin floor

    additions clarifications????
  • Last nights show was OK. Not even close to as good as night 1 though. There were a lot of great songs, but also a bunch of songs I could do without. But thats ok because they got most of the bad ones out of the way.

I could do without All Night, WWS, I am Mine, NAIS, Evacuation, Down, Wishlist, and Speed of Sound

Best songs of the night were Garden and the Real Me.

Only 2 repeats! Thats what makes this band so fucking awesome!!

It was great seeing the score updates on the Phils/Yanks. People need to relax on the Lets go Phillies and Yankees suck chants. I'm a huge Phils fan, but there's no need to chant every time you get a chance.

Nights 3 and 4 are gonna be insane!!!

  • Great show. Good 10club tix. NAIS, Iam mine, real me, push me pull me & no way were nice highlights for me. Even though I'v heard betterman a million times it was really awesome last night for some reason. Really cool moment. Loved the boxing round girl. Great idea...

Just a heads up to the interpretive/ drunk dancing guy in front of me in section 202 row 3... Maybe you shlouldn't flail your arms as much next show like your having a seizure on every song? You kept hitting me and knocked your seat into me several times. If it wasn't for your hot girlfriend talking to us for a second, the whole row behind you was going to roll on you. Not kidding. I enjoy the shows and songs as much as anybody but you were a little too over the top.

Did they do the video montage of Spectrum highlights again?

Can't wait for tomorrow and Saturday/Sunday!

  • All I have to say is that if they play till 2 AM on Saturday, it will be epic test of endurance. Last night was around 2 hours 20 minutes and it seemed way longer. I of course don't mean that as a bad thing, it's just that Pearl Jam definitely gave me my money's worth. When I looked at my phone after the show I couldn't believe how early it was and they are going to play another 2 and 1/2 hours on Saturday? I so wish I could go.

But again, last night was awesome. There aren't many bands now that can put on a show like that in an arena. I just wish I already had the sound board.

Wow, what an amazing show. I've been to some 20 pearl jam shows and this was probably the most eclectic set list I've had.

Seats were decent, Section 226 Row 7 on Mike's side. I've only seen on other PJ show in the spectrum and my seats were 103 in the back (like 15 I think) There's never a bad seat when you're seeing PJ

Took a bunch of friends from college and my brother, 3 of them were PJ virgins, there were updating facebook during the breaks about how AMAZING this show was.

One buddy wanted to hear lukin, he got it accoustic with the strings, wow.
Another just wanted to hear YLB, he got that was well.

I was happy to hear speed of sound for the first time EVER, Garden was great, also I love Given to Fly live, one of my favs.

All in all, was a great show, even before the show in the parking lot was awesome, jamming out to Pearl Jam grilling some burgers and dogs and drinking beer with the oh so friendly jamily.

I now have no voice and I can't hear. I'm coming back for Friday and Saturday(non FC seats.) I have no idea how I'm going to recover between them...

Best moment was ed saying to the strings, "see if you can keep up with this fuckers!" before Lukin.
"You think I got my eyes closed but I'm starring at you the whole fuckin' time." E.V.

Thers no "Push Me Pull Me" here, the man in front row is drinking beer!!!!! It should be Push Me Pull Me at a PJ gig, not a lazy audience as this. WTF, americans cant you rock?[/quote]

From someone who was lucky enough to get there once, it's kind of too mesmerizing and overwhelming up front to do much rocking out.

  • Last night's show was amazing! Finally hearing NO WAY live was a highlight!

My only disappointment was that they did not finish Come Back. Ed said they would finish the song later on but never went back to it. I hope they play Come Back either Friday or Saturday.

The strings on Just Breathe and Lukin was awesome! The crowd was great and the band was on fire. I can't wait for the next two shows!
