The most epic string of concerts to close the spectrum, and (most likely) Phillies vs Yankees in the World Series. (sorry LA fans, Looking like the phils and yanks)
I have tickets to the Pearl Jam 10/31 show and World Series game 3 in Philly. They are both Saturday night on Halloween.
What would Eddie Vedder say? Hes a huge baseball fan.

i also have Friday night Tix too.

ah what to do!

    Tivo the game

I always said its musch better to go see PJ live than go to a sporting event...

Just like before a ballgame, you can tailgate at the concert for hours with really cool people who are into the same things you are...3+ hours of kick ass energy and always go home with a smile on your face.

Go see PJ...it will be epic, the Phils will be in the WS the next eight consecutive years anyway!

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to
slide in sideways, BBQ sandwich in one hand, cold beer in the other,
body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "Woo Hoo what a
    ride"!

Yeah, I got a feeling a lot of PJ Halloween tix are going to be up for sale in the next few days on here.

my DVR is set for it, it's gonna be crazy day on 31st. flyers playing home game at noon, phillies, and pearl jam in the evening.. WOW

I'm avoiding said conflict by, as was mentioned earlier, going to game 4. My suggestion..TIVO or DVR game 3 , sell ticket, and buy one for game 4.

I don't have tix to any of the WS games, but I have tix to Wed and Sat PJ shows. I'm a huge Phils fan and don't want to miss a second of the WS should they make it.

Then again, I am a huge PJ fan and last concerts at the Spectrum are bound to be epic and historic.

I think I'm still going to go to both concerts. They're games 1 and 3, so not elimination games. If they were games 5 and 7, that might be a different story. I guess I'll just DVR the games, although there is no possible way to walk out of South Philly either night and not know the result.

I was thinking this about the Halloween show (game 3)...I really think they could start the concert earlier. You could bump up the time to 6:00pm, have PJ take the stage by 7:30 and be done by 10:30 (counting on an epic 3 hour show to close the Spectrum). The way these baseball games have been going, they're ending 11:30 at the earliest, so all 19,000 can just walk over to Chickie's & Pete's or McFadden's and watch the game! Seriously though, if they started earlier it could give people a chance to catch the end of the game.

I'm selling my 10/28 PJ tix. It's gonna be really weird to not watch the 10/31 Phillies game, but I can't miss the final Spectrum show.

    Best weekend ever.

No. None. Plus, I bet you a million bucks Eddie gives updates.

I've never been to Philly - but aren't the two stadiums accross the street from each other?

Try to pull off the double Header. PJ doesn't go on till 9, by then, you will have 1 hour of Baseball done and maybe the Phills have a huge lead!! Or Maybe stay for the game and catch the last half of the concert.

Either way - It would go down as the all time best night ever.

Yeah, DVR or Tivo's not gonna work during the show. If the Phils take the lead, the place will go bananas. Anyway, I've been stressing about this for MONTHS now. All I can do is take solace in the thought that neither games are clinchers, and I'll be using the MLB app on the iphone to watch/listen to the games during the shows. It's gonna be madness not seeing the games, yet I can't miss these shows. I'll be at Game 5 when they're hopefully becoming back-to-back World Series Champions!!

    You can't tailgate for sports??

I am so torn with all of this. Luckily my tickets are for Game 4 so I won't have to miss a game for the shows. I ordered an extended battery for my iphone and have an MLB app so I will be watching my phone intently during the shows that conflict with games. But don't jinx it! Still one more game to win.

    This.

I decided to unload 10/28 because I think it will be the least special of the shows (for me at least) and I know how much joy I'll get from seeing the full World Series Game 1 in real time. But it wasn't any easy decision by any means...

True...I just keep hating the idea of people (including myself) checking their phones, texting for updates, etc. during the show. It's brutal! I wish there was some kind of solution to see both, but it's just not gonna happen.

I vote for the 3:00pm mantinee show! Let's head down at 11:00 am, start the tailgaiting, hit up the show, out around 6:30 and then plenty of time to get settled for the game!

You know EV will break out his "Let's go Phillies" improv like he did in June at The Tower. That will get the Spectrum fired up

I don't wanna get ahead of myself here, but if the Yanks make it, all hell is gonna break loose. We got the world series with the yanks and phils, the giants and eagles on sunday and 4 nights of what is guaranteed to be a large NY crowd at Pearl Jam in Philly. All of this in one huge parking lot. How could you not make the trip to Philly during this epic weekend?

ESPECIALLY if we're playing the Yankees...

He also has some history with the Phillies, as he's friends with David Bell and has been over at the stadium at least once.

  • It would be sweet if they brought in some big ass tv of some sort and put the game on behind them. Unfortunately the scoreboard screen there doesn't have video capabilities.

He was there this year the day after his solo shows when the Red Sox were in town an hanging out with Theo Epstein.

Ibanez is close with the band I think. From his time in Seattle. And "The Fixer" and other PJ songs get played when he comes up to bat.

There's a lot of counting chickens before they hatch going on here.

Also game 1 is going to be in the American League city.

Game 4 could be the clinching game.
