So, my sister, brother and I want to get a good cheesesteak before the show - what's better Pats or Genos?
I feel that Genos has the better meat and cheese, but the bread at Pat's is fabulous. If only the 2 could be combined. Either way you go,both are delicious.
  • Angelo’s is right down the street from Pats and Geno’s and 1000x better than both.   Go to Angelo’s and order with cooper sharp cheese!!!
  • Pat's and Geno's are just tourist traps and highly overrated.   Jim's on South Street has really good cheesesteaks, but they're currently closed because of a fire.    Cheesesteaks aside, the best sandwich in Philly is the Roast Pork with Sharp Provolone and Brocoli Rabe from Tommy Dinic's in the Reading Terminal Market.
  • I did side by side taste test of Geno’s and Pat’s. Everybody I was with preferred Pat’s. The meat was chopped up finer. Gino’s was a bit chunkier. Jim’s was also good, similar to Pat’s.

This is gonna be a tough decision.
Dinic's roast pork with broccoli rabe is a must try.

I've had Pat's and Geno's, both great to me. My sister lives outside of Philly, so I've had little local places by them too that are all great as well. May go for Tony Luke's and Angelo's this time.
I tried to be subtle about Dinic’s earlier, but yes, I must now insist.

Philly folks.... is it worth buying the $35 parking Lot ticket on Ticketmaster or just pay cash day of show?

If you are looking to save one beer's worth of money and willing to walk, there are some other lots nearby that will probably be $25 or so.  Stadium lot will have plenty of parking, so no need to buy ahead.

Also, this won't get you the best cheesesteak in town, but on 9/7, the Phillies play at 4:00 in Miami.  Xfinity Live will get you food, drinks and and a chance to see the Phils lock up a playoff spot.  And for those that need one, there is a Geno's Steaks satellite location there.

Phillies are gonna wrap up a playoff spot on Sept. 9? Watch we'll be 10 games under .500 in May again.

Wells Fargo lots and concessions inside are card only,  no cash

Make sure your fingers aren't greasy when you roll your poster. I was careful with my emek. Left my cheesesteak for after the show!

Wait until the show.  Stadium complex kind of does flex pricing for parking depending on the event.  Most sports events usually around ~$25.  Eagles much higher I think around $50.  Concerts probably $25-30.
The actual lots at Wells Fargo can be a little slow emptying out unless you're parked in the right spot.  Citizens Bank Park lots even worse if its a big event.  Pay attention to the schedule for the other venues the nights of the show.  There was night last fall w/ a Flyers game at Wells Fargo, Phillies NLCS playoff at Citizens Bank Park, and international soccer at Lincoln Financial Field w/ ~100,000 people around the stadium complex.  Total mess getting in there.
If you're coming from the south (and headed home via I-95 South) I like the lot next to the Eagles NovaCare practice facility on Pattison across from FDR park.  Might be cash only (most of other lots non-cash only).  A bit of a walk (safe with a lot of people doing same) that's just the right length if you have a 12-16 oz roadie.  Even w/ walk back after show you'll get on the highway quicker than waiting out the Wells Fargo lot.
Other really good lot if you get there early enough is the one at Lincoln Financial Field on the Pattison entrance closest to Citizens Bank.  It has the solar panels.  There will be some tailgating there.  Quick walk out from Wells Fargo and relatively easy out if you're headed back to 95 North

Parking hack for WF Center - buy a parking pass for Lot C ahead of time. You go right out onto 95. If you pay as you go in they'll send you to the far reaches and you'll be waiting an hour to get out. I also endorse the Novacare lot idea.

Philly first timers - Please skip Pats and Genos. So many better options: Jim’s, DiNics, Angelos, Tony Luke’s, John’s Roast Pork…
also try a roastpork sandwich from Dinic’s or John’s.

you are probably SOL lol but in South Jersey, there's a hidden gem that has some GF stuff. Maybe you can call them and ask them to do it in a GF wrap:

Gotta get Angelo's on S. 9th st.  The bread is the best in the city and made fresh throughout the day.

Try their pizza too.  And if he happens to have any of his cutlet sandwiches on the menu that day, get one, it'll change your life.
