Then don't go. Seriously, if you're not interested in going, politely decline. If you weren't interested in him initially, no reason to even respond to him on IM or email. Why put yourself in this position or get his hopes up? Not sure about OKC but on Match, you can respond "no thanks".
believe it or not, we don't "need" anything. that is only the spoiled brat in us trying to fill some temporary solution to an emptyness that does not exist.

Face to Face with real conversation???

Hey, I'd LOVE to meet a guy offline, want to tell me how to do it? Besides, just because it's online doesn't mean it's not "real" conversation. I had a really good conversation with this guy before we went out.

I wasn't trying to get the guy's hopes up or hurt his feelings by agreeing to go out with him. My problem is that I respond to IMs and have a good conversation with someone because I sort of forget the ultimately, they're IMing me because they want to ask me out. If someone IMs me with an interesting question or something, I respond before I even look at their profile most of the time, just because I want to talk to them. But then I sometimes don't even think to look at their profile until they ask me out (and they get a pop up showing that I viewed their profile) so if I said no, they'd be like well howcome you seemed nice when we were talking? Obviously, this girl was all sweet and then saw what I looked like and now doesn't want to go out with me (though it's actually more than that). So I figure it's easier to go out with someone and THEN, once I've give them a chance, make a "decision." Not that I go out with everyone who writes to me- I actually respond to very few people, but I can't have a nice long conversation with someone and then reject them based on their profile.

This date the other night actually wasn't bad, but as usual I don't really see anything happening. We don't really have anything in common and he's not really my type (not so much in terms of looks, just in general).

So I got a question.....is Eharmony and better then match? I did the match thing for a while and found that 99% of the women I went on a date with from there were crazy. I took a break from it but want to get back into it again next month. I work with nothing but dudes so meeting women isn't an easy task. Eharmony is expensive, so are you getting what you paid for?

    I love this idea!!!!!

Hey guys, I find the whole online dating thing a bit scary really. I have been single for jjust over 5 years. After an 8year relationship, I really needed time out to focus on myself...oh and a baby!! I keep looking at rsvp (australia) etc and just get freaked out by it all. I have a friend who was using rsvp for a while and was chatting to a guy, geting really friendly, organised a meet up and then started getting really wierd feelings about this guy. The next day she goes into work, and plastered across the front page of the newspaper is this guys photo and how he got done for kiddie porn!!!! NO KIDDING!!! Now that's fairly F@#$%d up!

See there are whacky blokes and gals everywhere........ I just want a guy who can take the piss out of himself, doesn't treat his parents like a bank, doesn't ask his mummy for permission to fart and has backbone.
Really am I asking too much??? :)

I think that it's a pretty rare thing, to actually meet someone via on line or in person that you can actually trust enough to have a relationship with...

Eharmony is a maze of questionariires and by the time you've finally gotten someone's phone number, its time to renew your membership..

waaaaayy too much red tape IMO..

I found EH very easy to use. It's a bit time consuming and thorough to sign up for (allow for a couple of hours), but after that it is very easy. They make you go through certain steps before you get to open communication. What's the harm there?

Well maybe 2010 will be my year...that's if the freaking govt deptartments I am dealing with nat the moment get things happening so I can finally start trading with my new business. I'll be seeing different people all the time, so who knows. With my current job, working at night severely limits who you see, and how much time you have to meet new people. Generally i'M asleep while evertyone is working, and I'm working while they are asleep or going out. So it kinda sucks. Otherwise I'll just have to wait for one of the Pj guys to call me!!!!!LOL :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

I saw on one of those crime shows where Luke Perry was married but he would meet women online.
He would arrange to meet for a first date at a coffee shop and according to the date during the criminal investigation, he would not show up. He was secretly stalking them and followed them home.

I have been talking to a girl thru the site I’m on for about a month now …she has an eloquent, interesting profile…similar interests and ideals…and she’s beyond gorgeous - totally attracted to her…I was sucked in halfway thru reading her description…I get to the end and what do I see? A list of bands, with PJ included, and a specific mention of Ed and Into the Wild. bonus!
I’ve talked to her on the phone a couple times this week, and we seem to have a ton in common….hoping to meet her soon, but there are some complicating factors that will force things to progress slowly (not a bad thing, I suppose)…so I’m in ‘stay calm, don’t lay it on too thick’ mode…..Probably too early to be excited, or to even be mentioning her to people…but I thought of this thread when I first started talking to her :D

I'm being superstitious...it seems like whenever I meet someone I'm interested in online....it's when I start telling people about her that it all falls apart...then I'm left with friends asking, 'whatever happened to that one girl?...'
Hope I didn't just jinx it all ;)

Given the title of this thread...would it be wrong of me to copy and post some really, really bad profiles here? I've been tempted to so many times...

    ah, what the hell...
What would your first message be to an insanely attractive woman with this in her 'about me'?
I'm a single fun, adventures girl. I believe in life you must try new things at least ones! I like to Snuggling, movies, roller blading, dancing, watching hockey. In a guy I'm looking for someone that can enjoy the simple things in life.

You know, I hear women complain about this all the time, but I finally had one admit that it worked on her….she got one from a guy she gave her number to…he went into the bathroom and sent one to her phone right then….they ended up dating eventually. I said, ‘you must have been impressed by the pic’…and she just smiled.
