This is truly one of the best songs ever and I didn't realize until I saw it live.
On the album Force of Nature, Amongst the Waves & Unthought Known were all at the top, but seeing it live Unthought Known is truly incredible.
For over 15 years, Porch has been my favorite song. When Yield came out Given to Fly & mfc were close. Since then, while Save You & Life Wasted are great, nothing since Yield had made me think, 'this could be better than Porch' - that is, nothing until seeing Unthought Known live.
I had this thought at LA4 and then a few songs later they played Porch, so no, still nothing is better than Porch to me, but Unthought Known is a solid #2 in my top songs right now.
Everything about it is outstanding!
I just wanted to bump this because after a really bad day yesterday and no-so-great-but-thank-god-it-is-Friday morning, I put Backspacer on and this song is just so uplifting. I think I used the term 'mood altering' in here or somewhere and it is just that.
maybe I'm the only person, but when I listened to that album the first time, I wasn't all THAT thrilled with the song. that hasn't really changed. good song, but I like Force of Nature and Supersonic and Johnny Guitar a lot more. people keep telling me that Unthought Known is amazing and all this, but I just never found it to be all THAT great.
