This was the one I was the most excited to come on here to talk about today. There is just something about this song!! AMAZING! The hair on my arms seriously stood up. It is just so hopeful and magical without being cheesy. Kind of reminds me of metaphysics and the whole power of thinking. LOVE IT!!! I am just so thankful that Eddie decided that this is they type of stuff he wanted to put out there.
    Right ON!!!!!!
    Take me piece by piece.....
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
  • Leave it to Ed Vedder to completely change the feeling of the word "rhinestone" from something craptastic into something awe-inspiring.

unthought known = the one that gave me goosebumps
shit, I'm getting them just typing this up..
  • Got some was my favorite on the first listen through but now I keep hitting the repeat button every time Unknown Thought comes on. What an amazing song. I did not read through the whole post so someone may have already said this but it would make an awesome opener. I just keeps building intensity the whole way through. I loved LBC as an opener for the same reason, except there is nowhere for Ed to plug in "let the show begin." Not only do I hope they play it on 10/28 I hope they open with it. One of the best songs they have ever recorded.
  • Is the BEST fucking song they have ever written.....PERIOD!!!!!!

    There....
    I said it.........

And when they sing it live in Philly, I may just jump on stage and give all the boys a big fucking hug.........

Made a similiar post yesterday and I agree.

Hearing this one live is going to be a treat.

When Ed's starts belting out "There's Nothing left" I lose it everytime.

Then you think it's over and he goes off on "You will be no one's rival"

    This is a beautiful track.

LBC is a great opener, I was treated to this in Reading during the Vote for Change tour.

Love must have been sung 30 times by the crowd, to this day that song moves me everytime I hear it and Unthought will too.

    (vedder / vedder)

All the thoughts... you never see... you're always thinking...
Brain is wired... brain is deep.... oh are you sinking?

feel the path of every day...which road you taking?
breathing hard... & making hay... yeh this is living...

look for love & evidence.. that you're worth keeping
swallowed whole in negatives.. it's so sad & sickening

feel the air up above... a pool of blue sky...
fill the air up with love... black w/starlight.....

feel the sky blanket you... w/gems & rhinestones...
see the path cut by the moon.. for you to walk on...
    for you to walk on...

    nothing left...nothing left...
    nothing there... nothing left...

see the path cut by the moon.. for you to walk on...
see the waves on distant shores... anything your arrival...

dream the dreams of other men... you'll be no ones rival...
dream the dreams of others then... you will be no ones rival...
you will be no ones rival...

a distant time... a distant space... that's where we're living...
a distnt time... a distant place... so what you giving?...
    what you giving?
"...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".
    "..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."

It is definitely up there amongst my favourite PJ songs of all time - how awesome it is for us to be feeling this way about a NEW Pearl Jam song! Love the way it builds up, on the same chord progression, and when Matt kicks into his pounding and Ed starts into "Feel the sky blanket you..." it's a peak moment on the album for me. This and Amongst the Waves make my heart soar.

  • After hearing it again I realize how lucky I was to hear it the 1st time in newark in '08 at EV show, when Ed described it as a peice of fruit being picked off a tree before its to ripe. He said he was working on it @ 5am the night before. What a song.

I don't think in my head about how I love music like this...

So... yeah... I guess it's an okay song ;)

I sat my ass on the couch last night and listened to the cd on our really good speakers. I can't agree more. That song is really brilliant. Even though it's different, it makes me feel like I'm hearing a little bit of something like Love Boat Captain. I can't quite put my finger on it.

It's pretty well my favourite on the album so far. Have lost count of the number of times I've listened to it! The general consensus of opinion from other threads I've read is that it's one of the favourites off the new album. Can't wait to hear it live! ;)
