Wow, the Cowboys did everything in their power to give the game to the Chiefs and they still found a way to win. But I wouldn't really be patting myself on the back if I were a Cowboy fan. I'm a lifelong Chiefs fan, and I'll admit they are the worst team in the NFL. And don't go thinking Austin is the next Michael Irvin. The Chiefs regularly give opposing players record days.

I think that was the plan. The original Dallas team vs. the "new" Dallas team.

Yeah, it was just weird seing the hats and hoodies on the coaches say "Dallas Texans". Did they sell Dallas Texans merch at the game?

Anyway, I am glad the bye week is here because good God.

But if you want to put a positive spin on it? The two losses the Cowboys have were against teams that are a combined 10-0 and both were at the last second (field goal by New York, fail by Romo in Denver). So there is the positive thought of the day and the only one you are getting from this Cowboys fan on this dreary Monday working on the 4th straight week of rain.

Methinks neither of those 5-0 teams are Super Bowl bound unfortunately. The return of Eli's 14 step drop will soon return as it does in the second half of every season of his career except one, and the Broncos could very well be 2-3 if they didn't pull off lucky/defensive wins at home. Such is the nature of the NFL, but I don't have anything good to say about the Cowboys @ 3-2 as well. The only good thing that this could bring is a rallying point for them to point to for the rest of the year. If, in a months time, the Cowboys are 7-2 or 6-3 and I'll believe that story though.

I'll never make that mistake. For him to really impress me he has to have good games against teams other than Tampa and KC, with that being said he would be my number 1 receiver against Atlanta in 2 weeks, Roy Williams hasn't shown me anything.

good god can we please put marion barber down for a few weeks and let choice be our running back?
I agree, this isn't little league where everybody gets a chance to play, you go with the hot hand. Choice has had the hot hand going back to last year. Austin also should take Williams place as number 1.

I think Barber is fine for the first half, but then it's gotta be choice and queen felix when he gets back. i also agree that williams should be our number 2 that goes over the middle and makes possession catches and austin can be our deep threat. oh well, we'll see how things go after the bye.
  • Somebody made a good point about our losses. The Broncos and Giants both struggled to beat us. Those were far from asswhippings. It's not like we're the Raiders or the Titans (who I still can't believe are winless). I don't know why we don't use Choice more. We gotta get that dude at least 15-20 touches a game. He's explosive. And, no fucking way does Austin have 250 yeards receiving against the Giants or Colts or any other top tier (<---sp?) team. There was a lot of poor tackling by KC. Sort of like the Brandon Marshall play that beat us.

If we'll run the ball effectively. Let that set up some play action stuff. Do better covering and for fuck's sake TACKLE somebody, we'll have a solid year. The good thing is we haven't peaked yet. That's a good thing. You want to peak over the last month or 2 not during the first 2 months. Hopefully the staff and Romo have been taking notes on how to minimize some of the mistakes we've made. Oh, and Demarcus Ware needs to sack somebody over the next 400 plays.

We're not as bad as people are saying. Romo is just easy to hate. And Jeagler couldn't play a single down in the NFL so I don't put much stock in what that woman has to say. ;)

Most of what is being said here is true, because its so plain to see. Romo gave NYG the game, Dallas should have blown them away. We beat some of the worst teams by small margins because we constantly keep them in the game. The team crapped its self against Denver (who is overrated). May be there is a chance for Garret and Wade to save their jobs, but something is going to have to happen. The OCing is terrible, Garret SHOULD be gone if he doesn't do a better job. If Romo fails under a different OC, he should be gone next. I like Wade's def and would like to keep that, however.

Ever notice how the Analysts talk about Dallas? Its like they know that its not working and its obvious something has to change. Gaurantee there will be a coaching change if this season doens't go well.
Twenty-ten watch it go to fire!!!
  • Shanahan would be a good fit because his offenses are run-oriented and we have 3 pretty good backs that can do multiple things out of the backfield. I agree with the defense comment if they could learn to cover the deep halfs and be more consistent tacklers. If we could put together long, sustained drives, they'd have even more potential to really cause some problems. We have too many 3 and outs. Fuck a bunch of that. We have too much talent to see that regularly. Romo would function better without the added pressure of thinking he has to make big plays. I truly believe that Romo isn't the answer. He's better than Kyle Orton or Jake Delhomme but he's not as trustworthy as a Manning, Brady, or Brees....and I hate his interviews and his sissy ass dimples.

I wouldn't be trusting the Eagles right now either. I think there is something to the 'peaking too early' theory. Besides, I still think NO or the Vikings are going this year. Maybe the Giants.

BTW, I am meeting you in Philly right? I will be there for the 10/30 and 10/31 shows. I can't go all the way the fuck up there without at least shaking hands with the guy I have been arguing about football with for the last 4 years right?

i'm not delusional about my team. this extended preseason is the best thing that could have happened to them though. they need to be 5-1 by the time they play the giants. and then we'll let the chips fall where they may.

yeah i will be at the wed/fri/sat shows. i've never gone to a preparty before though. i usually have a pretty big one one set up with my friends. are they just like a tailgate party? i will probably head over for the wednesday show and maybe friday.

it would be good to throw back a beer with you so i can explain just how awful your team is to you in person though. hahahaha

Yeah, in Philly anyway they are like a big tailgate party. Been in bars/restaurants in other places. I am not going to spend much time at the fundraiser pre-party this time, but definitely would like to meet.
