I never noticed this phenomena before. And I am a chick. And this chick only took another chick with her to all the shows she attended until - da dum - I got married. Now by unspoken law - I am obligated to take my husband. Which is no problemo cause he likes the band too and is happy to tag along with me!

I'm personally very picky as to who I bring along as my 10C partner.

Right now, it's my girlfriend... but she's a fan which works out.

Before I used to bring either my brother, cousin, or other friends who are into the Jam.

I've been with other girls...did Toronto with my friend Maya and Chicago 1 with my best friend TorontoPearlGirl.
Sometimes I end up going with a guy...depends on who I end up getting my tix from cause I don't use my own number unless I know when they go onsale if I can go 100% or if I don't have another 10C member using their number for the two of us.

Crap (about the needy chicks, that is). I go to PJ shows by myself just about all the time, and I'm a female. Noticed most of the crowd at the front of the Calgarry festival seem to be guys, not many girls around. Strange, that. PJ seem to be more of a guys band than a girls, but I know heaps of women love 'em!

My wife gets first dibs on my extra 10c ticket as she quite likes pearl jam shows. She'll usually go if its somewhat close to where we live.

If i'm taking a trip to go see them, she'll usually pass, so then the extra ticket goes to a friend who is willing to make the trip.

Sooo, not true. I've been to about a dozen concerts recently all solo. I buy expensive tickets and don't impose my musical tastes on anyone. So I travel and go to shows alone. Yeah, some people think it's weired to see a crazy chick rockin out on her own, don't give a shit. Some dudes try to hit on me...but I usually ignore em cause I'm in it for the music and share that experience with the music freaks around me. I even went to see PJ at Lolla alone. Oh damn...just looked down my pants and I see a pair of nads forming. BTW I'm going to LA for the PJ show in Sept...alone!

honestly - me being the rotten snot that i was, i didnt think he would truly appreciate it at the time. it wasnt until he & i moved in together that he stopped listening to music i hated and crossed over from the dark side of bad music. :roll: and due to the timing of it all it just never came to be that he could go. therefore - i never even considered it an option (when we were dating) that he would go with me! and quite frankly - it doesnt bother him or myself at all. come to think of it - betcha my friends pissed cause she dont get to go anymore!

Hahaha I've been to a million shows solo, including Pearl Jam! I've flown across the country solo to see Pearl Jam, solo. I can't imagine any girl thinking they need a guy to go to a show. That explanation doesn't make sense.

My first show at the Astoria, I flew solo and never had to go solo after that again. This year, I got Jenny's spares, other years I've had Bab's spares... so pairs of women aren't strange at all.
