I wish i had the chance to bitch about where my seats where last night and or tonight...but sadly im not going to either of em..
  • Also, what's with the hitting of the enter key and random intervals in the original post?

    I loved that!
    Very random...unlike seat allocations.

So did people with sub 100's member #s get nosebleeds ...this will probably also happen in Philly especially for the 31st ...

We don't have seats in Europe... We have being-crunched-to-death-standing-places only...

    And we love it :D

    indeed!
thus why i appreciate the heads up! good to know. hell, even the 30th might be worse than usual seating. eh, those of us in the NE are used to our seats being greatly affected by city location. i always do far worse in my hometown shows at MSG than anywhere else. all trade-offs. love seeing them in other shows, new places and people and sure....better seats.....but then there is nothing like a show at home!

actually, using my # on the 30th, a friend's on the 31st - even tho i did score my own pair too - so shall be interesting to see how it all shakes out. i think chicago I just experienced the typical surge of 10clubbers at an average MSG show. :D

fortyshades......we have that here too, just not at big arenas/stadiums usually. i experienced 8 euro pj GA shows and it was awesome, but yea....there are pros and cons to all arrangements. i also enjoy pre-partying away, waltzing in to the the venue at the start and having my own *space*.....it's all good.

  • if anybody got nosebleeds, it was b/c that's what happens right before mcready blows your brains out with his guitar solos. he was incredible last night.

i was in 306, which is about as far from the stage as it gets. it was still one of my top 4 or 5 shows of the 15 I've attended. And i've been as close as the 3rd row, and in the first 15 several times. these modern arenas don't really have a whole lot of truly "bad" seats.

I have to admit, I would like nice seat places tho. Wish they had that in Europe sometimes. I'm getting an old man ;) . Besides, Berlin was a nice show, but I was getting a bit concerned with safety...

i'll tell you this....your 10c # will get you a LOT better seats (if they have em, that is) say in europe...or australia....NZ....or smaller markets in the US, such as salt lake city....or smaller, harder to travel to cities in canada.....than you will ever get say in NYC, boston, philly, cali, and chicago.

my 10c# is 257xxx....and i got 4th row center in verona italy......9th row center in edmonton canada.......and midway back from the stage up in the 200 level at MSG last year. location, location, location!

that said, there is nothing like an MSG show. 8-)
however, i'vew loved every sinle pj show i have ever attended...and it is great o see em in new places, with different crowds....and sure, sometimes far better seats, or crushed up against a rail. ;)

I hear you i think that it makes more sense to travel to see them at other venues with less demand ..

eh, most of the places i want to travel ANd to see pj, demand is still pretty good in any case. i've had good luck here or there...or GA....but more often than not, demand is still high where i go. i love travel...i love live pj...but i am not going to travel somewhere *just* to see pj(unless very close to home), it has to be a place i want to see/visit too.

now if that hawaii show materializes and it works with our december vacation dates......and i am lucky to score 10c tix.....hope my # serves me well. ;) my # would've fared quite well in oz, but they went and made those shows GA in any case, and i decided to save oz for when mr. dream and i both can make the trip. so waiting on hawaii..........

But that's the thing: you don't have any seats in Europe. You have run-for-your-life tickets. That's it. That's why I put it all in perspective...

you didn't thoroughly read my post. i had 4th row center SEATS in verona italy. i also believe the O2 show had the option of seats or standing. i know they are far more RARe over there, but there is that rare occasion, when the option is present.

and believe me, i am WELL aware of the run-for-your-life tickets....and being crushed to the rail...both here at home, and yes...the 8 shows (7 of which GA) i saw pj in europe.

It's funny; the Ten Club gets extra tickets and people bitch, but if they had sold out quicker from the Ten Club because they only got the floor seating and the side wings, then people would still bitch. The Ten Club is really in a lose-lose position with this one.

So to the original poster, would you have been happy with getting shut out of Ten Club tickets? Because that is the solution to your problem. The Ten Club sells less tickets.

I have a lot to say! First to the people that say iam not entitled...That is complete BS and you know it! If iam

spending my money to see a concert iam 100% entitled to get value for my money. (That being said there is no

way in hell I would have went to the show let alone spend $68.00 for nose bleeds) Next time Pearl Jam comes

to town I will in fact use ticket master! (I have easily been to over 100 concerts and guess what....I almost

always get In the first 20 rows...To answer the above question

Yes I would prefer being shut out of the show all together then sit in the nose bleeds! (I don't do balcony

because to me that is not getting the value for my money) Honestly it is a completely different Experience

being in the front row vs being in the Balcony...completely different! I might drop out of 10 club...I will

have to think about it...obviously at this point iam not getting the value for my money.

I totally agree. If your fanclub number is lower than 200xxx and they put you in the nosebleeds, you got fucked.

Except that happens at almost every show. You aren't guaranteed to be sitting in front of ALL the Ticketmaster folks, especially at these big market shows.

I agree with this. But from what I can tell from this thread, people with good numbers who would usually be on the floor were in the nosebleeds last night. If your number is 400xxx, then you have to expect a good amount of ticketmaster buyers to have better seats. But if your number is lower than 200xxx, you should have better seats than everyone except for maybe radio contest winners or the "higher-ups" who know how to get great seats at any concert.

ok. regardless of where his number is, there is a solution to all the bitching. it's called communication. people get mad about how the shows are announced, because as of late, they've been poorly communicated. last night's seating debacle, let people know ahead of time that 10c seats may not be the best. send an email, tweet, post on the boards, post on the website. people keep getting mad because of the lack of communication about things. that's all you have to do, and for the most part, people will be happy.

  • Buyer BEWARE!!! I have been a 10C member since 1994 and used to get great seats until...

I bought 10C tickets for the St. Louis show in 2004 at the Fox Theater. I got the tickets in advance of the show and they were horrible. They were at the very back of the venue. I bought a 2nd pair from Ticketbastard when they went onsale to the public and got great seats. I am an Ebay Powerseller and didn't think twice about throwing my 10C tickets on there to get rid of them.

Needless to say someone from 10C must monitor Ebay and I got booted from the 10C for reselling my tickets.

I understand that I broke the rules and should have just eaten the cost of the tickets or whatever but again, I wanted the best seats possible, not just 2 seats somewhere. This is a band I have spend 10's of thousands of dollars on and with over the years. I have traveled all over the country, bought EVERYTHING they sell in their e-store, all the bootlegs, etc. but that one fuckup cost me BIG TIME!!!

I just wish a 10C rep would have contacted me and said, "hey, remove the tickets or else". That would have been the "friend" thing to do. Blindly revoking my membership and not wanting to hear my side of the story was total crap IMHO...

I just wish there was a way to at least make sure that you can't get better seats from Ticketbastard. Not getting your tickets until right before the show is a total crap-shoot.

My consolation was that I was able to re-join the 10C but start all over with my senority. I was at the show last night in sec. 332. That was fine with me. I am still serving my "sentence". I just hate knowing that I could have gotten much better seats from Ticketbastard, that's just wrong...
  • Scott36Scott36 Posts: 109
Yeah, I was under the impression that all the 10C tickets were supposed to be better than the general on-sale. I thought that was the whole point, and I've always heard people saying how the 10C takes care of all of its members and will never give you a bad seat. If new members can get better seats through the public allotment, then why should anyone new join the 10C? This just doesn't make much sense. People make it out to be much harder to get PJ tickets through a public on-sale than it really is, and I think most people join the 10C with the idea of getting seated somewhere in the best block seats in the venue (even though that is going to be at the back end of the 10C allotment).

Also, the 10C should do completely random seating assignment for one night of two night runs. Should every show really be seated strictly based on seniority? Is the band not supposed to have any younger fans that won't have the really low member numbers?

Don't forget that the 2004 tour was the Vote For Change tour and it wasn't a normal presale. It was a presale held on ticketmaster for tenclub members, but it wasn't ran by the tenclub. So referencing a bad ticket for the 2004 tour isn't really fair since you've probably had killer seats to every other show you ever went to.....but it's your first post so ya might as well come out bitching and moaning right from the start.

  • I'd rather pay double and sit in the first 20 rows than see two shows from the back of the 300 level. I guess I'm a seat snob, but its just my preference. I suppose thats why I buy a lot of tickets on Ebay. Not PJ, but other bands. Most bands have tiered pricing. I don't care either way, but if you are paying the same amount of money for the worst seat in the house as you would for the best seat in the house...well, thats not very good value for your $$$
