I think you just have to be patient and work your way up and never let your number expire. I joined in 02 and have slowly been moving closer each tour. If someone complains about 10C selling more tickets than usual, remember that the alternative would have been trying on ticketmaster and not getting anything. I *love* walking up and picking up my 10C tickets, no matter where they are. We were in nosebleed in 03 at MSG but we were there and with many other 10C members in that section. You can't expect instant gratification such that if you join you'll immediately be 4th row. Its a long term thing with me - I enjoy every show no matter where I'm sitting. And part of the reason I joined 10C is to show support for a band I'm into, not just for the tickets.
i joined in 2002 as well.
do you find your seats have truly improved over the years? honestly, i haven't. no complaints, just being realistic. i HAVe gotten some pretty sweet seats, or GA....but that was mostly due to location of show than my 10c #, alone. however, if i compare my 2003 and 2008 MSG experiences, my seats were eerily similar. i might've been a wee bit closer in 2008, but not that much. at least i don't think so. i think i actually need to look at my tickt stubs now when i get home from work....b/c now you've got me curious. the BEST 10c seats i have ever gotten for a NY-area 'hometown show'....both in jersey. the holmdel 2003 ticket swap for MSG II....and then in 2007 for east rutherford II. first time i had gotten legit on the floor close to NYC on my own 10c #. it was awesome! so yes, again, no complaints......but in THIS thread, it seems more about being WAAAYYYYY up in the sky as opposed to what even *normal* shitty 10c seats usually are. i have a blast wherever i am as well, i am there to see pearl jam! but you bet, i at least understand/appreciate the possibility of feeling some disappointment over this. i hope all ultimately enjoyed the show...and i appreciate the heads up!
We're 192xxx not the 400xxx. We definitely weren't expecting the first section of the floor, but didn't think we'd be in the back section of an arena.
full agreement here. that was my point at well. even at 257xxx i would be VERY surprised to score 300 level tix, so a sub200 # in the 300 level? no way. very odd.
Perhaps you could spell it out a little more, because your point wasn't clear. My point is that arena shows are much more fan-friendly than stadium shows, with very few actual 'bad' seats.
If you are making a point about fanclub no. and expected seat quality, see my above post for my views on that. Brother.
Worst seat in the house is the worse seat in the house....period.

Well 1st off the show was great and set was awesome.
The problem here which everyone is talking about and I hope I can figure out the method behind this madness for everyone. We were in sec 318 and I am a 244xxx (6 years) and were 4 rows from the highest seats. The people directly behind us on our left were 402xxx (2 years) were at the DC show with seats in 100s from what they said. Next to them and directly behind us on our right were 186xxx (10 years). So in theory seniority played no role in the seating assignments and I heard on guy say he has been a member since '93 but I didn't get his 10c number. Entire section was 10c member and everyone seem irate but rolled with it. I even heard that day of there were some 100s still available on TM, don't know if this is true or not but...Anyway I would just like to find out the reason behind this and I hope to God that TM didn't bump 10c members in favor of giving the better tix to brokers to get more money for the tix. Reason is I know if I was a member for 10+ years and didn't have my membership lapse and was flying in from either the West or East cost only to find out I was in the nose bleeds I would like an answer. It just seemed there was a confetti mix of what your member ID is and where you sat. It was my understanding that the lower the number you are closer and goes back from their if I am wrong please correct me on this.
I am not bitching by any means I would just like an answers for this so we can put these threads to bed.

This was pretty much the reasoning behind my original post
That somehow people who have been members for a LONG time got worse seats than those that bought tickets through Ticketmaster.
or you can come to terms and realize you're the only one who can forgive yourself oh yeah... makes much more sense to live in the present tense...
Maybe it's just me - but I personally don't care where the heck my seats are at a PJ show. Of course it would be great to be up close but I'd much rather be at the show than not. A lot of people weren't able to make this show so I feel lucky solely because I could. I had floor seats about 30 rows back and couldn't see a darn thing but had an INCREDIBLE time. The people around me rocked, the setlist was amazing, and the band poured their hearts out for us again. I mean, this is all about the music, right??
And seriously for the people blaming the band or Eddie for their seats - come on. The people at 10C have to work with these venues in order to try to get us the best seats. If you think you can do it any better, why don't you try it out???

age and 10c #.....really no direct correlation. i know quite a few people under 30 with kickass 10c #s, and plenty of people older, including myself, with mediocre to crap 10c #s. and sure, the reverse as well. bottomline....a low 10c # in no way signifies being at all older, it simply means you joined the 10c earlier....no matter your age.
I agree.
In my experience, people who complain about where they sit fall into two camps:
1) People who have been around way too long, and are used to sitting in the first few rows and can't BELIEVE the Ten Club would DARE stick their holy asses anywhere else. These people also dislike every show, unless they play Bee Girl.
2) People who haven't been around long enough to realize how fucking tough it used to be to get tickets -- any ticket -- and how fortunate they are just to be able to see the greatest band in the world with relative ease. These people don't know how good they've got it.
I just assumed our boy IlliniGuy fell into No. 2. But it was basically a coin flip.

I was in section 101 row N for last week's Toronto show. I mean seriously, row N?? Shouldn't my membership entitle me to rows A-C, if not a spot next to Boom's organ riser? Actually, shouldn't I get to be Boom for a night? That's what I'm expecting from TenClub; anything less and I'm joining Blink 182's fan club instead.

I just joined the tenclub again, so any seats I buy are surely going to be crap. that's fine. I don't even buy through radio station presales anymore. Here's why:
-radio stations only get a certain percentage (like 5 or 10%)of each section, so if you go through the presale, it is entirely possible that you will miss out on a closer section than if you just go through TM (who has 90% of the section). I got really good seats for the Hip once through presales, but every other time I've been burned. So if PJ ever come through my neck of the woods again, I'll probably bypass 10C seats and just get through TM (although, I'm not sure how many members there actually are in Winnipeg).
I have no idea if this is actually how 10C works, but it's possible, and could be why some of you feel you were burned. Yes, I understand that you are supposed to get closer seats if you have seniority, I'm only commenting on another possibilty of seat allottment.

Nothing is fun about being in the 300 level, all these " i was surrounded by 10 club members woohoo" is just people compensating for the fact that they HAD tickets in the 300 level. If I had flown in from NY with my 13 year old membership and was now in the lower 100 level. I would have been quite mad too.

I never got why you can't complain about a service. Ten club is providing a service for 20 bucks a year, They are saying in there statement that they hold the best seats in the house, If someone feels cheated by this statement, aren't they allowed to voice the discontent? There paying 68 bucks and not getting what they feel is what they paid for when u could have probably gone to TM the day of the show and picked up better seats.
in all fairness....has anyone EVER gotten a 300 level seat thru 10c before?
MSG 2003 My membership lapsed from the nineties. Reupped for the 03 tour.
really?
wow.
i definitely need to recheck my ticket stubs. 2003 was my first tour, joined 10c in 2002. i thought i had 200 level seats at MSG in 2003....and i know i did in 2008. granted, i gave up my 10c seats for MSG II since they oversold, went with the holmdel trade offerred, and got 11th row due to the small amount of 10c tix, and good ole block seating in 2003. :P thanks for posting tho, as before your post.....this show last night is the first i've heard of anyone getting 10c tix in the 300s.
My # isn't the best, 334,xxx, or the worst. Last year, at the 6/19 Camden show, Thursday(a weeknight), I was in the 4th to last row, all the way to the right. Should I have expected to be that far back with that #? I didn't think so. Couldn't see a thing on stage. Was I happy about it? Definitely not. Did I have a good time anyway? Yes.
My problem is that you have no idea where you will be seated, and I would bet money that people working the ticket booths take tickets out of 10c envelopes and swap them, maybe make a couple of bucks partnering with scalpers. What methods are in place to prevent that from happening?
But instead of complaining to the 10c about seat location, maybe we can ask them about letting us know where we will be when we order tickets, or at least give us a general idea of where we should be?

I think that since the 10C does not release your seat location and claims they reserve the best seats in the house, one should have an expectation of receiving a decent seat. It shouldn't be a roll of the dice as to whether your 10C seats will be better or worse than seats you can get off of TM. If that is going to be the case, the 10C should let you know what seats are available to you so you can make an informed decision. I don't think most people have the expectation of sitting in the front row. Speaking for myself only, my expectation is that my fan club tickets will be better than tickets a non fan club member could obtain through TM thats all...

a few poeple in this thread have posted below 200xxx #s and said they got 300 level. whether this is true or not, idk. however, i still never would've imagined 10c seats up in the 300 levels...until now. of course, hollis told me MSG 2003 he was in the 300s, which makes me think...perhaps *I* was in the 300s....and i just don't remember? hahahaha. i know it was a BIG difference from uniondale to MSG in my seats, but i still didn't think 300s. i definitely have to check now when i get home. curiosity. it's all a learning curve, that's for sure!
I was soooo tempted to walk up to the 300 level from my floor seats and offer to trade last night. There was this guy who smelled like really BAD BO and Wine Belches. It was horrible. Id rather much hang out in the rafters to escape that smell.
If you were in section 4, I know what you are talking about. I kept saying, "do you smell cheap wine?" seriously,it was pretty powerful.
Other than the smell, how was the view from Section 4? My Dad and I are both 10c members in the 280xxx I think. He and my Mom are at the show together tonight, first time either of us has ever had floor seats, just curious if they will have any view of the stage, I think they are in row 4 of section 4.

I totally agree. We should be notified in an email just incase any of those people giving out the tickets can't swipe our good tix.

i can't say for the united center, never been there....but if sections one and two are directly in front of the stage and then 3 and 4 right behind....and you are in row 4....you should have a pretty damn fine view. i was in the 2nd row of the section right behind the first in NJ in 2007 (can't remember what section it was named) and it was by far one of the BESt views i have ever had a pj show, and the first time on the floor with my 10c # that was not a GA show. there usually is a large gap between sections for a walkway, and that gap affords a really good view. if you were deeper into the section, it could definitely be worse....but being in row 4, you should be golden. ENJOY!!!

a few poeple in this thread have posted below 200xxx #s and said they got 300 level. whether this is true or not, idk. however, i still never would've imagined 10c seats up in the 300 levels...until now. of course, hollis told me MSG 2003 he was in the 300s, which makes me think...perhaps *I* was in the 300s....and i just don't remember? hahahaha. i know it was a BIG difference from uniondale to MSG in my seats, but i still didn't think 300s. i definitely have to check now when i get home. curiosity.

Other than the smell, how was the view from Section 4? My Dad and I are both 10c members in the 280xxx I think. He and my Mom are at the show together tonight, first time either of us has ever had floor seats, just curious if they will have any view of the stage, I think they are in row 4 of section 4.
I have friends who have member #314xxx and got section 319, couple of rows back.

ENJOY!!!
