Well my number is 189xxx. Last year at MSG that had me on the floor but back a bit behind the divider. I'm pretty sure that the people who got nose-bleed seats last night are people with their number in the 300xxx range or higher so I'm not worried.

You seriously want me to believe that I have paid 50 bucks every year to have the option to get the best seats to a Pearl Jam show, and I got tickets that (potentially) I could have gotten BETTER seats through a radio presale password, and I should just be OK with that? That's the problem I have.. I could have had BETTER seats if I purchased them through a radio presale. That's sad..

Isn't it amazing how all the people unhappy with their seats just so happen to have never posted here before?

Because I've never posted here doesn't mean:

    1) I haven't been a fan, gone to concerts of theirs, been a member etc as long or longer than you
    2) Posting here, about this specific topic, could mean that I simply wanted as many people who could correct this problem, seeing the massive issues they had last night.

Cool. Maybe Ed Vedder will invent a flux capacitor, and the 10 Club can go back in time and give you seats on the front row. That's the only possible way to "correct the problem."

Or we could be honest. You came here just to bitch. Not to enlighten.

Look, the Ten Club can only give out the tickets they are given. I'm 99.9 percent sure they didn't go, "Well, we have all these lower level tickets to give fans, but fuck 'em. Let's stick them in the nosebleeds."

Nobody's trying to screw you. You just went to a show with an overwhelming number of fan club members and a limited number of prime fan club seats. Shit happens. Next time, go to Salt Lake City.

It's funny; the Ten Club gets extra tickets and people bitch, but if they had sold out quicker from the Ten Club because they only got the floor seating and the side wings, then people would still bitch. The Ten Club is really in a lose-lose position with this one.

So to the original poster, would you have been happy with getting shut out of Ten Club tickets? Because that is the solution to your problem. The Ten Club sells less tickets.

  • I'm not paying 50 bucks every year to simply be "there"; I was paying that amount to have the best seats (as Pearl Jam clearly advertises in their membership purchase) to actually see one of my favorite bands and not see ants on the stage from my seats.

If you're paying 50 bucks a year then you do have a legitimate complaint. Last time I looked 10C membership was $20 for US members. They don't make their profit from membership fees.
If I knew where it was, I would take you there...

You are 100% correct.. I came here to bitch. I came here to bitch because I pay 50 bucks every year, and got seats that were worse than what I could have purchased through Ticketmaster.

    As I said..

It's blatently obvious that the 10C way oversold their allotment of tickets, and fans of Pearl Jam were screwed. That's not screwing people, that is just simply wrong. That's all.

No. 1 --- If you're paying 50 bucks every year, you're getting ripped off. It only costs $20. Until a few years ago, it was $15.

No. 2 -- It's not like the Ten Club gets to go in first and get every single prime seat in the venue. They are allotted a certain amount on the floor. Period. Any overflow has to go elsewhere. Sorry you were overflow. Should have joined the club earlier (like when it was $15). Or gone to Salt Lake City.

No. 3 -- If the only reason you are in the fan club is for the tickets, it's probably a waste of money. They don't tour all that much. Frankly, I'd pay $20 a year just for the Holiday Single. But that's just me. I'm easy.

If you # is in the low 100,XXX and you were in the 300 level..you got screwed..no doubt bout it..
  • i have a high number 428xxx......sat in the rafters.......had a great time......everyone around was on their feet and cheering and singing..............feel sorry for the people that cant get over themselves about their seat............
  • 1) It was a mis-type on my behalf.. I apologize.

    2) My concern is that fans who have been in the 10C for years, with lower numbers than people posting here, were screwed. When you have the general public getting better seats.. that's a problem. If you wish to trivialize the concern, so be it.

What a miserable person you must be.

You are probably too young to remember, but there was a time when it was nearly impossible to get any ticket to a Pearl Jam show, period. My first show, I had to call this crappy phone-in line to get tickets. ME and 10 of my friends all tried. I was the only one to get through. The max you could buy was four tickets. Six of my friends were shit out of luck. They would have been happy to sit in the nosebleeds.

    are you serious?
i have seen pearl jam a few times every year, consecutively, since my first show in 2003. they may not play a lot of shows every single year, but they do play every year for quite awhile now. getting tix to concerts is exactly why i am a 10c member. to me, it's definitely worth it sinmply to have tix. where they are is quite secondary, tho 10c has always treated me pretty decently.

anyhoo...i am curious. i asked as much in my earlier post....is this the first show ever where 10c seats made it into the 300 level? i've never heard it mentioned before, so i simply wonder. it definitely seems new, and good to know for the future. even with the disclaimer for philly, honestly, i hd not imagined seats going that high. now i do. :P i figured my seats would be on par with what i usually score at my hometown MSG shows - always high demand - midway back, 200 level.....now i definitely imagine much worse. and yes, it's good to be prepared. ;)
    Stay with me...
    Let's just breathe...

I am myself like you somehow

    2) My concern is that fans who have been in the 10C for years, with lower numbers than people posting here, were screwed. When you have the general public getting better seats.. that's a problem. If you wish to trivialize the concern, so be it.

There you go being disingenuous again.

Your concern isn't with other fans. You concern is about YOU. YOU felt you were entitled to more than you got, and YOU want to whine about it.

You are free to do so, but let's call it like it is. Don't act like you're performing a public service here.

on the '06 tour i had a shitty 10C # and got great seats side stage and it was awesome. had a shitty one last night and seats were in 300 but i could see the show perfectly fine..songs were great, straight on view, can't complain. everyone had fair warning that seats may not be "prime" when they went on sale. THE SHOW KICKED ASS! I don't care if it was floor or nosebleeds but if you didn't have a good time at the show regardless of seating then I would reconsider how much you love seeing live music.

He just told you that his number is in the low 100xxx. I wonder if someone from admin is going to post about this person's member no? If he/she is lying I'm sure they will.

If their number is that low, condescending remarks about being too young to remember something will only make you look foolish.
When we found the things we loved,
They were crushed and dying in the dirt.
We tried to pick up the pieces,
And get away without getting hurt,
But they caught us at the state line,
And burned our cars in one last fight,
And left us running burned and blind,
    Chasing something in the night.

My concern is with ALL (hopefully you can grasp that) Pearl Jam fans who are a part of the fan club, and were screwed at their ticket location. I'm not entitled to anything.... I don't know why you claim you feel I said that. I'm issuing a 100% honest complaint of the system. When you have 10C members, who have beem members for many years, getting worse seats than they could have gotten through the GENERAL sale.. that is an issue they must address. End of story.

    are you serious?
i have seen pearl jam a few times every year, consecutively, since my first show in 2003. they may not play a lot of shows every single year, but they do play every year for quite awhile now. getting tix to concerts is exactly why i am a 10c member. to me, it's definitely worth it sinmply to have tix. where they are is quite secondary, tho 10c has always treated me pretty decently.

I live in Texas. They don't come my way too often. If all I cared about were tickets (ME, ME, MINE!), I probably wouldn't be in the club anymore.

The tickets are a nice bonus, but the Club also has many other amenities that make it worthwhile to me. That's the point I was getting at.
