On a related note, I don't get why "everyone" thinks of the 10C as a ticket club. I joined primarily because I'm a fan of the band. I like getting the singles and magazines and that's it. The band hasn't come to my country for 11 years, so the preferential ticketing doesn't have much to do with it (I did get to use it in Oz in 06 however). The thing I hate about other bands fan clubs is people join on tours just to get access to presale tickets (and those presale tickets are usually scattered through the building). I'd hate for 10C to end up like that.
P.S. Will we see you in the box office in NZ? At least you won't have to worry about people complaining about their rubbish seats. Since it's GA, they'll have nothing to complain about! Oh wait...
you'll get nothing but sunshine and lollipops from the kiwiswe'll just be so fucking happy to see you crazy bastards.

After 26 pages of this nonsense....
There are 2 things I am sure of....
The 10club did EXACTLY what they have always promised....They will try to get the best seats possible...And those seats will be given out by seniority......
and...
Santos is my kind of guy...
He tells it like it is....
And i guess there is one more thing...
Wilds did his homework....Take me piece by piece.....

I am totally biting my nails for the Vancouver show.
I hope I get good seats cause I very rarely get to go to shows cause I live in an area of canada that never gets shows. Hubby and I decided to bite the bullet and buy tix to and airfare to Van for our 10 year anniversary.
I really appreciate Wilds doing his homework like that.
It really put everything into perspective for me.
I am signed into touringfans and am keeping my eyes on it.
But seeing the layout for Vancouver I know Im gonna have a great time and be surrounded by other 10c fans.
Cant wait to rock it out!!!the person below me smells like cat pee and raisins...0 -

Ten Club numbers 000,001-133,XXX got sections 1,2, and 3 aside from the lottery winners.
Ten Club numbers 133,XXX-165,XXX got 113, 114, 120, and 121
Ten Club numbers 165,XXX-184,XXX got 112, 122
Ten Club numbers 184,XXX-212,XXX got Floor 4,5, and 6
Ten Club numbers 212,XXX-259,XXX got 111, 101
Ten Club numbers 259,XXX-295,XXX got 102, 103, 109, 110
Ten Club numbers 295,XXX-310,XXX got 104-108 (there is a gap here, so I assumed this to be true)
The above seats seems to be the normal (Ten Club, fight to the death to get the best seats in the house) type of Fan Club seats. After 310,XXX the seats got quite a bit worse.
In fact there seems to be only 4 sections in the 200 level that Ten club members got, and they are towards the side of the arena.
Ten Club numbers 310,XXX-335,XXX got 201,202, 216, 217
(These are club level seats I think, and obviously the Ten Club didn't get many of these)
Then comes the upper deck nightmare. There seems to be little rhyme or reason to the distribution.
People with Ten club numbers from 335,XXX to 437,XXX got these sections in this order:
331, 319, 333, 334, 308, 317, 334, 303, 314, 311, 310, 309 and 302.
Most of these seats seemed to be in the 1st five rows.
So aside from the 100 level seats directly behind the stage, it seems as if Ten Club got ALL of the floor. ALL of the rest of the 100's, almost no 200's, and very random 300's.
Of course other people could be mixed into the floor, or 100 level seats, but I would guess we took over this arena in a big way.
The best the overflow ten clubbers from 335,XXX on could have hoped for were 200 level seats, but Ten Club had none.
I'll repeat one last thing from an earlier post. The only thing that should have been different about what went down, would have been for the Ten Club to post far in advance that some people with very high numbers will not get 100 level, or even 200 level seats. I think that would have solved everything.
My guess as to why that happened is this:
Ten Club negotiated all those amazing Ten Club seats. Let's say it was 6000 of the best seats in the house. BUT they said they will take every single ten club order that comes in and if the number of people attending goes over 6000 seats they will just take what is available.
Perhaps they were surprised when they sold an additional 2000 seats and then had to make a compromise about where to put those people. They didn't have time to warn them, cause they didn't anticipate 4000 pairs being sold.
Now that the orders were in hand, they choose to wait until the upper deck shit storm hit, rather than deal with people trying to get refunds.
Just a guess. Could be totally wrong.
You can add Section 318 to your list. Some guy took a poll and everyone in that section was 10c. My husband sat 3 rows from the very top.The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way it treats its animals. Ghandi0 -

"Since the beginning of the Ten Club, Pearl Jam has been dedicated to making sure that fans get priority seating whenever possible. Sometimes, there are circumstances beyond our control that limit our ability to do this. But we go to bat for you...and most of the time, we find a way."
Right fucking there. Funny how some of you only read what suites your argument. But that is pretty clear to me.
Next topic!
they need to state when something like that is going to happen. no one expects it. simple communication and there is no problem. just communicate. i don't know why they have a hard time doing that. everyone that went was blindsided by it
I do agree with this sentiment. Unfortunately we don't know the circumstances concerning what went on.
you are right, we don't. even now would it hurt them to state it though? probably not. if they had a high allotment, just say so. i can't recall anyone in the 10c EVER get seats that bad since i've been around in 03. they just don't communicate, and that's why people get mad. and, in my opinion, rightfully so. we should be getting info from them about numerous things, and we don't."Fuck the talkin' let's start rockin" - Eddie Vedder 9-5-00 Pittsburgh

I am one of the people who has not read all 27 pages on this thread...and do not plan to. HOwever, I am willing to throw in my 2 cents.
It seems that there was "a problem" with the ticket distribution for this show. It has happened before and will happen again. Wasn't there a show in 2003 (Detroit) where people with really low numbers got put 20 or so rows back from the stage due to season ticket holders? Ed even mentioned it during that show.
Even though it happened you have to realize that 10c and the band did everything they could to ensure everyone recieved the seats they were suppose to get. Shit happens. The Ten CLub is a great thing, but it is not perfect. There will be mistakes and people will feel like they were screwed. But, you have to realize that they are doing eveything they can to assure you have good seats.
I have traveled a long way to see them, spent alot of money, and had crappy seats. I ended up 2nd to the LAST ROW on the floor and could not see a thing...except for for all the heads in front of me and the occasional glimpse of the band. If you were in the rafters at least you can see the band. I could not. It was a great show even though I had "bad" seats and I am glad I went. The experience of seeing (or being in the building for that matter) Pearl Jam is still untouched by anything in entertainment in my honest opinion.
It sucks your seats were bad, but it is going to happen. Hopefully, it did not sway you from trying to see them again and dont giveup on the 10C...it is a nice little club.

Grand Rapids 06, members with higher numbers were closer, and lower numbers kinda got shuffled back, but they weren't in the rafters like this. Grand Rapids actually went over well, which I think, MAY have led to the lottery system. Everyone was ok with it."Fuck the talkin' let's start rockin" - Eddie Vedder 9-5-00 Pittsburgh

Though that did happen in Grand Rapids (and it was a memorable show), Igotpj is actually referring to the first Detroit show in summer 2003 at DTE Energy. That venue has seat licenses (the corporation's name are right on the seats) and many 10C fans were pushed back 15-20 rows. Ed made a comment about it during the second Detroit show the next day.0

Yep... remember that show well. I believe that was also the tour where the tickets were distributed in "blocks" (for example, numbers 100xxx-150xxx pulled from this stack, first come first served) so it only compounded the issue. I think I was in the 26th row on the left side for that first night... not bad seats by a long shot but they'd have been much closer without all of those circumstances coming into play.0
