Jesus man, what don't you understand? You knew the rules of the club before you joined. If you want to know what your seats are before the show maybe you shouldn't have joined. Also --- this from the 10 club website which you should have read before you joined:

Since the beginning of the Ten Club, Pearl Jam has been dedicated to making sure that fans get priority seating whenever possible. Sometimes, there are circumstances beyond our control that limit our ability to do this. But we go to bat for you...and most of the time, we find a way.

What I understand is that a shift has occurred, and I'm trying to give people a big heads up. The shift is that there are now enough 10C members and that if you are 32XXXX or higher, that you SHOULD get your tickets through TM, at least for major market shows. This is new, and people are not used to it.

10C has in their total control the ability to put the situation to bed. Either don't allow so many 10C seats that 20% are way worse than the average schmuck on TM gets, OR simply tell people that 20% of the seats are going to be worse than TM.

you seem to be under the impression that 10c can dictate what tickets they can get from ticketmaster...tm gives blocks of seats to 10c in the best areas but holds back tickets for public onsale...the tickets that were available the day of the show were those..i realize you won't bother to believe this and contine to rant like a 12 year old but i thought i'd add that

    cheers!

    What great shows.

I would really like to know somethng though, was it reasonable for me to have worse seats to night 2?

I had killer side section seats (first time for me not on the floor, but I liked it...and I still like the floor ;)) for Sunday night...then for MOnday night I ended up in 233. From touringfans.net, this doesn't make any sense.

I emailed the 10C and got the standard "Seats are based on senority" line. I know that. BUt it seemed weird to me and I kinda was hoping they would have looked at it a bit closer and said...yeah, those seats made sense because we had more fan club members at MOnday night or we didn't have as many lower level seats for the fan club for night 2...

No biggie I guess. I still got to see some great shows!!! It would be nice if there was a way for you to know what tickets you will be picking up...so, you know if someone behind the window makes a mistake.

By the way, am I the only one that enjoyed Night 1 more than Night 2?

People keep jumping in to the bottom of this thread without reading it, and making assumptions.

FORGET ABOUT DAY OF SHOW SALES. I'M SORRY I BROUGHT THAT UP. We all know there are tickets released day of show.

I'll say it again, because clearly some people haven't read, or don't believe the truth.

The point is that a huge (in the thousands) number of 10C fans had tickets WORSE THAN THE TICKETMASTER GENERAL PUBLIC SALE. Not equal, not only a little better. WORSE.

So the point is: IF YOU HAVE A HIGH 10C NUMBER, GET YOUR TICKETS THROUGH TICKETMASTER RATHER THAN 10C.

    That is the point.

Thousands? And you know this for a fact? You have spoken to all 20,000 people that were there? And I have read the whole thread by the way.

And Ticketmaster has to have some good seats to sell to a show, and the venue and all the promoters have good seats to give away as well. It is not 10c fault that some good seats HAVE to go to the ticket seller and venue people.

It sucks for 10c, they try and get more than their usual allotment to get fan club people into a show and they get crucified for it. They have less, they get crucified for that. If 10c instead of putting people in the 200 level next to the stage put them in the 100's at the back, they would get killed for that. Back of the floor, they get killed for that. In the rafters, killed for that. Backstages passes? Not good enough.

I'll say this again, this is exactly why we will never get a fan club only show again. Or maybe why we should not get one again. No one would be happy with it. Unless they were in the first 10 rows of course which is all a lot of people seem to want, or think they deserve.

I can't wait to see the sequel to this thread "10 club members get nosebleeds 10/31/09"

If Chicago weren’t Ed’s hometown – if I were this band, all this bitchin’ going on a week later, I’d say, fuck Chicago, we ain’t comin’ back.

    Bunch of whiners.

I'll say it again, they got TWO AWESOME SHOWS, and then come here and have the nerve to bitch.

If we in Philly get a set list anywhere near Monday's setlist, I will be thrilled beyond belief.

    Wait just a second....

I've read most of this thread and the loudest complainers are NOT from Chicago. Maybe in addition to the lottery, 10C is throwing in a little 'home town advantage" as well? I highly doubt it but hey, why not throw it out there?

I hope 10C doesn't get tired of all the complaining and scrap the whole program. You think they NEED our measly 20 bucks a year?

At least those in the 'nosebleeds' could actually SEE the stage! 211's wound up in the last floor rows and couldn't see anything! I didn't know that Mike had brown hair until Mon night! The screens were blocked by speakers and at 5.7", I'm not really short. Couldn't see a damn thing -or- smoke-out but we're not complaining!

The ticketmaster/venue/fan club thing is such a complex web... you're wasting your time and energy complaining or thinking of ways to make it better. Tickets that come up for sale last minute are tickets that aren't sold through tickets now or other organizations that TM has agreements with. Why do you think there are so many good tickets on sale at stub hub right after shows are announced? It's not black and white. The seats aren't either 'ticketmaster' or 'fanclub'.

I recently renewed my 10 Club after letting it lapse for two years- it was orig. in the 300's and now it's in the 400's....I live in Vancouver, BC and when PJ was offering 10C tix on here I just skipped it 'cus I knew my seats woud blow...I bought a pair on the general onsale on ticketbastard and pulled some sweet plaza's in Sec.105 next to the stage for the GM Place show here...unless I fly to a show in Croatia or someplace exotic like that, I don't suppose I'll ever be able to expect good tix and that's cool...I'm happy putting myself in charge of figuring where I wanna sit...of course, winningthe 10c lottery would be cool....

Apparently you read the thread but didn't understand it.

WIld did a great analysis and found that there were about 6000 10C seats Sunday night. 20% were in the 300s. 20% of 6000 is 1200. So, thousands of 10C seats were in the 300's.

10C can prevent the "10C members get nosebleeds 10/31/09" thread if they want. TELL PEOPLE RIGHT NOW IF THEY ARE IN NOSEBLEEDS.

All they need to do is communicate.

    are you still going dude?

    :?

i went to a great show and had the worse journey home from the minute i left, the only thing that got me through 17 hours of pure hell was still being able to hear the crowd singing along to my favorite songs.it really sounds like you let one small detail ruin what could have been an earth shattering moment.people have really tried to help you sort this out and you arent listening to anyone.

i know your disapointed but there really is nothing else that can be said post event to make it better.i'm sorry for your crushing sense of rejection, but what are you wanting right now?

This thread just reeks of hypocrisy. All these members that get killer seats to every show are on here saying how it's not a big deal and the 10C bears no fault for this situation. Okay then, if it's reasonable to expect upper deck seats, how about you guys offer to swap your tickets to just one show with a newer member? If it's really just about being in the building and hearing the band, then you guys could surely go one show without your killer seats, right? Hah, it's just a case of the most senior members wanting to make sure the bitching is kept to a minimum so that the status quo won't be disturbed. The system kicks fucking ass for them. If the shoe was on the other foot, I'd bet good money that you folks would be bitching up a storm too.

I don't think that is the case at all. I think every fan club member knows that tickets are based on seniority at this point, with the exception of the 4 row lottery (which I think is great, btw). In that case, if it were a fan club only show, people would know why the have the seats they do. The issue in this thread is that people think that there was some mistake somewhere down the line or that the areas that the fan club has in the venue should be disclosed before the day of the show. These are legitimate complaints, and I think Santos has addressed them well if not completely. No one is complaining for the sake of complaining because they have number 400,000 and they think they should have better seats than number 100,000. At this point, many fan club members have been to multiple shows or are at least very familiar with the ten club. The seating at Chicago was something that no one had experienced before, so obviously, questions were raised. Some people might be happy with answers given, others not. But everyone is basically on the same "side" so why is everyone still arguing?

I did understand it, perhaps you did not understand my post. And that touring fans data is a not every member that was there. No one knows the exact number of 10c members that were there. I did not post my seat info there. And 10c has already warned people about the 10/31 show. They may not even know where everyone is sitting now. And like I said, if they put them in the 100's at the back of the arena, all those same people would cry about that. What are they to do when they go out of their way and there is a larger than normal 10c allotment? There are only so many seats and they do not get every single great seat. So what do they do?

Adults aren't "entitled" to receive the value the expect from a purchase? They're not allowed to alert the seller to the problem and/or make a complaint?

I love the ten club and I think they do a great job and treat their customers very well. But if someone has a problem with something they paid $74 for, then they have the right to complain and at least investigate the issue. A ticket to a rock concert is just like any other product. If you ordered something online from any other company and the product you received was not what you expected, you might complain to the company, you might try to return it for a refund, you might write a letter, you might give them a negative review somewhere...this is how capitalism works, and even non-profits are subject to this.

Then again, this message board (and its operation) has become the complete opposite of everything I thought this band stood for.

    Steve,

I have no desire to flame away, but I would be curious to know what is completely opposite. Just curious, cause I feel differently, and would like to be enlightened about your point of view.

As for the Ten Club numbers, I don't have a problem with them being posted. Mine is 184,621.

I think in some cases posting someones number is a necessity to clear up false accusations. It's not like Santos is giving out your pin number for your ATM card. Nothing bad can come from spreading the knowledge of the last three digits.

I actually think I read an interview with Tim Bierman and he was like "I don't understand all this XXX stuff, why should ten club numbers be a secret." (that is a not an exact quote) I thought that was hysterical and true.

Wow, relax. Do you have anger issues?

First of all the Ten Club members that post on this board are a small % of fans in the club. Secondly only a small % of fans from this board are even responding to this thread.

And of the ones posting here, even a smaller amount are directly at odds with you. I believe I was pretty neutral until the anger comment. ;)

But if it makes you feel better to spout off about who you choose to share tickets with then more power to you.

Actually, I heard a story at the Chicago show that someone had their number stolen. No lie! (well it's no lie that I heard it, I don't know if the story is a lie :)) So I guess it is better to be on the safe side and refrain from posting your number everywhere.

I usually just write XXX cuz I can never remember the last three numbers!
